The OG Flicky was a major hit in the Arcade games buisness,which came out in 1984.It got ported to Sega Genesis too(Where I played it.) Flicky had some appearances in various Sonic games all the way till this day.

@@IamAVeryNormalSonicEnjoyer sure thing it would be possible on the Sega cd hardware unless there is a Little bit of space that can be removed with a travelers tales anyone? in the game or we will have to make it 4 MB so it ain’t compatible with sonic and knuckles For the water I don’t really know what to do for it. Maybe moving one of the edges of the object back-and-forth along with doing a effect where a pixel is at one area and then it switches to a mirrored version of it back and forth to give the illusion of a full picture. maybe we could do that? Also it would be impossible to fit on the genesis with all of the blinking flames unless it’s just a separate sprite. Also for aquatic ruin I guess we could put some sprites on the screen or make it be molded into the foreground.

I love the bit where the spider tries to grab the Flicky. I love the bit where Tails carries the spider. I love the giant laser scene and Eggman’s smooth looking downwards animation. I love that goofy ending. I love that this takes place in Chemical Plant, the best stage with the best music. I love literally everything about this.

Closest I can get you is Metal Soldiers, a LucasArts title on the SNES. Mecha combat platformer. Oh your mech got shot up? Spotted a Better one? Leap out on foot and carjack (mech-jack?) them.

That's actually a cool mechanic to be able to hijack badniks and control them. Why is Tails here?!

Flickie takes control of the situation

*Badnik Notes: Chemical Plant* Grabber: Being sized for Sonic, they can't do much to a Flicky. However, they can definitely crush monitors and rush across ceilings. They can even spindash... though their design as a vertical attacker usually means a mobile point of attachment is needed to do any real travelling with one. Spiny: You wouldn't think these ground-trawlers could do much more than spit little balls, but scaling walls and especially wherever they got that laser blast that fries their circuits are key perks to piloting one.

I want this as a mod now.

I want to play this game.

This would actually be a perfect gameplay mechanic that Sonic Team should really consider looking into. Would help for a Sonic Adventure style game where Flicky can have it's own segment of possessing badnicks to complete the mission. I'm all for it!

How do you get your animations to look so… retro? What I mean is that the animation looks like it’s been recorded straight from the actual game. (in this case Sonic 2)
