I do understand her. She’s clearly frustrated with his lack of initiative in sex and even outside of it. She says in her relationship they don’t adopt traditional values or roles but I think that plays a part to why she’s frustrated with him… because he doesn’t lead. You can see how he’s expecting and wanting her to lead in bed and even on the bases of income. Her being the breadwinner…. Idk. It’s just obvious that she’s expecting more from him and he’s not meeting those expectations

boundaries and consent to things are very much needed when it comes to power dynamics/bdsm/kink. its fine that she wants it to happen spontaneuonsly however it clear her partner is new to this realm and isnt natrually a sexually dominant person so in that case they should talk about her wants and what she doesnt want so that he doesnt cross the line (which can ruin the relationship altogether) OR she can simply find someone else who is more experienced and can meet her needs, which to be honest, im sure she will lol@@HfdguuUesv

I think the important parts are not what line you step on but instead the narrative or explanations provided for how the two function together, compromise, sacrifice, prioritize, etc. Some couples could be on the exact same answers each time and not have as healthy relationships as some who differ in various ways.

I disagree, I think Vernice shrinks herself, dims her light for the sake of that "relationship", in a way that I don't see Chun doing for her (Chun's energy just seems blah compared to hers in general). And from his racist family not accepting her and him not even calling it what it really is (dread to think if they have children, would the Asian grandparents reject the children too because they are Black?), Down to him saying she should be more "active" on a public platform, when he himself isn't active, without regard for her feelings as a woman. Then there is the fact that Chun isn't fully understanding of the racism Black people face (echoes back to how he is handling the situation of his racist parents), so much so that when it came to protesting for the human rights of Vernice and other Black people, instead of him understanding and supporting her 100% he is questioning her motives and her "head space" like she is crazy for protesting for her rights as a human. She can do better, I think in some ways she's like Ezequiel (though not to the extent of Vernice, ps Ezequiel kind of has similar mannerism as Prince the singer lol), He and Vernice can do better than the people they are with but they have such low self esteem that they've chosen relationships less what they are worthy of. They both deserve to be in relationships where they are fully accepted and get to show up as their whole authentic selves, without fear they are not enough or can't even advocate for their human rights without being questioned because they really are beautiful and I think have more to offer than who they've chosen to partner with and because of that she's shrinking to match Chun's energy.

  • @az1infin268

To sum it up, I think he is irrational when it comes to understanding and supporting her wants and needs, even the most basic ones like her needing to show up and be her full self without him treating her or allowing others to be treated like an alien. He even sometimes twists it so that she feels like she's the one who is being irrational for wanting and deserving those fundament needs met.

It must be hard to get couples willing to be completely honest (to a point) on KZread regardless of the incentives they receive. I honestly hope there will be more conversations specifically centred around couples especially this type of content. honestly really enjoyed the conservations that were had, very rare, especially in a period where there was a lack of realistic situations/conversations being had online.
