In 2001, a famous Chinese athlete had her pants ruined by water, before attending an important business event. She had no choice but to get a new pair of pants in a rush, to wear. She was totally not aware that the new pair of pants has English swearing words all over it. That soon get noticed by the audiences and journalists, result in a huge reputation crisis to her. That's why we should check the foreign writings on our attire very carefully.

As a native Russian speaker, sometimes I see Asian (primarily Chinese) clothing with Russian words used as decorative element, and in a lot of cases it looks exactly like this lmao. I’ve also seen signboards of Chinese shops nearby the border between China and Russia, also written in Russian. Some of them just have a lot of mistakes, and some literally make zero sense, like “Cucumber with ears”, “Little Gay”, “Eastern mug” etc. Honestly, I see nothing wrong with that, no one has to know the language to appreciate its visual beauty, and it’s also funny as hell, so why not? :D Also, I’d actually like to get a tattoo which says “chicken wings” in Chinese. I just really love chicken wings and how Chinese letters look, the combination of both is even better 💀

雞翅/雞翼, 鸡翅/鸡翼 ‘Chicken wings' in both traditional & simplified Chinese, if you haven't looked it up already. 雞翅 is more used in Mandarin, while 雞翼 is more used in Cantonese, though both are equally valid.

I'm trying to learn Russian (English is my first language and the only one I'm fluent in) because I think the language is very cool and I happen to watch a .ot of KZread channels where most of the comments are in Russian, and I like to read comments so it bugs me that I can't understand them (and I didn't have a translate feature originally so this helped motivate me to learn) though I'm not very good at Russian and need to think a long while before understanding most sentences, if at all, I think I've noticed some mistakes in writing on signs before but I don't see Russian very often where I live as most of the people around here speak English and English only.

I'd love to have a tattoo in some other language that says something silly, like some kind of food name or even something entirely nonsensical. People always tell me tattoos should have meaning but the meaning MY tattoos carry are "they make me happy" and if I can make someone else happy with a silly tattoo, then that's even better! I live for laughter :)

Same with Asian people wearing shirts with random french words on them. Once I saw someone that was wearing what would be perceived as a promo shirt from some random bakery anywhere in France but the person was acting as if the short was some unique design/romantic stuff... 😂 I don't know. Best baker of the year doesn't really spell romance to me.

I find it funny because Asian characters were based on original artistic expressions later to be adapted into hanzi, kanji, hangul etc. the writing is beautiful in its own way and then we have english writing. But I could understand from someone from those countries who use it everyday being like 🤷 “why though…”
The sushi one was pretty accurate
When I visited Japan, I loved seeing clothes with completely random English words on them.

I remember when I visited Japan and China when I was a kid. I saw a shirt that had a woman walking her dog on it and it said “Goyals best friend” instead of “Girls best friend”. There was also one tank top, that said “Earth” on it. It made me wonder what some of the clothing and jewelry with Asian words on them that we have here in America actually say.😂

Latin or Chinese characters, permanent TATTOOS are a SILLY idea!
So true lol!! I always chuckle when I see people get tattoos of stuff like that haha.
This is hilarious. It reminds me of the shirt people wear in Japan that they have no idea what the English words mean. One woman was wearing a shirt that said diarrhea and when she was informed, she was quite embarrassed.
As someone who knows both Chinese and English, I see this as an absolute meme 😂💅🏻
