I’ve hidden a fair few Easter eggs in this one, even some riffs and sounds from ‘Boggy depot’. Let me know what you hear. Spotify version live now 🏄♂️

The fact that you can do Jerry's and Layne's voices both almost flawlessly is really impressive, especially love these AiC recreations🤟

Love the original, love this version. RIP Layne and Chris!
the really subtle reharmonization and meter tricks were absolutely gorgeous, really inspired stuff.
It's been like two years since I've found this guy's channel, but it still just bamboozles me how good he understands and feels AiC and Soundgarden. This stuff is just pure gold!
@stevewelsh__

Thank you! No bamboozles here just good times 😎🏄♂️
I liked how you used Jerry’s voice for the verse and laynes voice for the chorus, like in “Would?” Or “I Stay Away”.
@gckbowers411

Layne definitely does the verse in I Stay Away
I'm always amazed by the uniqueness and originality of your work. Rather than copying and pasting riffs exactly as they are, as many do, you brilliantly capture the nuances that define AIC's style, crafting something extraordinary. Congrats on being such an exceptional artist.
Those harmonies are so good man. Having Cantrell on lead vocals was a great choice!!

You could just turn this channel into an "If Alice in Chains wrote" channel, as it's the best content you do. So good.
That one short measure at the end of the “ooo” bridge is absolutely a Jerry move.
Dude this was so subtle but so so spot on. How the hell hasn't your channel blown up yet is beyond me.

@stevewelsh__ Honestly my dude I wish I could support you more. But I have a policy to not spend money online due to financial situation, but I do send your videos to friends all the time (some of them are sick of you by now hahah)... But I guess I see myself in you, you see I was also once a strapping singer with luscious long hair and rock'n'roll dreams. And I am happy to say I lived many of them. But we all get old, and married and divorced and then we realize life seems to have passed us by. But it's cool, there are kids like you that still do it and believe it and live it and have the chops to go all the way. So I root for you man, I am sure a lot of us here do. Anyway, lost my train of thought, just keep on rocking man 😀
If you did nothing but stellar, soul capturing AIC versions of other songs, I'd hang out all day. The fact that you can do so much more just makes it so great. Congrats
I appreciate the fact that people are still enjoying boggy Depot even this far into its history. Between it and degradation Trip volume one and two, I don't think that Jerry gets enough credit for the amount of backbone that he was for this group. I love Layne to death but Jerry is a huge part of what makes this band what it is and I think you encapsulate that super well.
@stevewelsh__
6 ай бұрын
Thanks! I am literally listening to degradation trip on record at this very second haha. Jerry has inspired me on so many levels so I really try to put him (and Sean and the mikes) on the forefront of these songs.

Jerry’s solo material is so good. Saw him open for Metallica in 1998 and then saw him in Bowery Ballroom when he was promoting DT. Mike Bordin on drums, Robert Trujillo on Bass and the lead singer on the opening band who joined Jerry to sing and play guitar….William DuVall.

Sound in Chains? 🤔
It sounds like it could have been written by Duvall-era AIC, where Jerry's voice has become more prominent and William adds the upper range when needed. You nailed it once again!
Damn. You have to understand both bands SO well to do this. Respect. Also “Sprinkle of Dirt” is a great band name…like a lite version of Puddle of Mudd.
Awesome cover, as always! I can certainly hear traces of "Whale & Wasp", "Angry Chair" and "Right Turn" in there! Hearing this makes me wish AIC would record another "Sap/Jar of Flies"-style EP! 🤘

You got the other boggy depot reference! Cut you in was the main inspiration for the verse rhythm guitars. Someone else earlier picked that I had borrowed the rotary cabinet effect from ‘breaks my back’. Great ear from Both of you! ⚡️🤘🏻and thanks for your comment!
Love the creativity and attention to detail on these. Your AiC/SG and SG/AiC songs are by far my favorite content. Two stellar bands with such unique characteristics. Amazing job once again.
"Fell On Black Days" helped me to endure the first anniversary of my sweet Mother's Death. My days have been beyond Black and deeply Depressive since her Death. Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and Chris Cornell's other work sustained me. This sounds incredible. 😢

Badass. The guitar flare gives me big Whale and Wasp / Sea of Sorrow energy.
My fav Soundgarden song done justice by the predecessors! This is fabulous! Love the Cantrell vocals processed in the style of some of his "Boggy Depot" tunes.
Very cool. Two of my favorite bands, together...thanks for the time you put into this.

You make me smile so hard when listening to every one of these cross-band songs you create. I would love to hear Burden in my Hand STP style!
That was very fresh and pretty epic. Thanks for your time and effort in this.
I just found your channel tonight. This one made me shed a tear for both of the awesome frontmen. 😢
The reduction of notes in the "oooooo" part is a perfect adaptation to the AIC style. Initially, I missed the complexity, but it was the right choice for this video.
Wow, you absolutely crushed this one! 🔥Amazing job harmonizing and capturing Jerry's and Layne's vocals. Everything was spot on. Had to listen to it twice for all the nuances.
Simply perfect and incredible. I always wait for your next video and you always make my day. Congrats, man! You rock!
Fantastic work again!! ... and again and again!! Please don't ever stop. 👍🏻
This is fucking rad. What an interesting idea, and such an excellent execution! Really did justice to Layne and Jerry’s harmonies and cadences. Love both bands; Fell on Black Days is a great song that is hard to imagine any other way and yet here it is powerful and intriguing in its very own right! Well done.
This is so bloody good. Absolutely love this soundgarden tune, would love to see Cantrell's and Thayll's reactions to these AIC and Soundgarden crossovers!
This is beyond awesome! You really kill it with these AIC mashups!!
This is beautifully done Steve! The double vocals and Layne screams and way of his singing, the guitar riffs so AIC. I loved it! More please! Going to Spotify now.
