What if my impreza has the Rockford Fosgate upgraded stero speakers on not the harmon kordon would I order the with harmon or with out harmon don't make this easy I just assume lighting the car on fire so sick of it

Hm so apple carplay is not working? I had that happen a few times, try restarting your phone and the head unit and try again

Can a 360 camera system be installed with it?

How do you secure the screen part. It doesn’t pop into anything it just sits in place doesn’t seem secure

Yes you can download any apps on the google app store

Do you still have the OEM head unit? Does it have any issues? I'd possibly buy it off of you!

Thanks for this interesting video, quick question - why did you have to run the Apple Car Play cord outside of the unit beside the seat? Are you still able to connect to Apple Car Play via the usb ports under the climate knobs?

If this is like the other Idoing units no you cannot. You can do it wirelessly or with the cord you mentioned.

Does anyone have GPS issue using this head unit?

I followed all the OEM plugins like advised, got the touchscreen connected and working, but my rearview camera isn't showing up on the screen. I had to factory reset the whole thing because the touchscreen wasn't responding at all, so the only thing not working/responding is my camera. Any advice?

Yes you can edit the wallpaper's and add custom ones

My starlink system stopped working don't know why because it's all hooked up

It does work another video shows which plug ins are for which. The only issue I’m having is my steering wheel buttons not working. I’m hearing you have to push them in again or deeper.

@madgodzilla12465 lol I figured it out. It's in the setting of the device and you have to program the buttons to the new system. It's easy when you know. I posted a short video on how to do it Because no one was answering the question and had me thinking I couldn't, and they started creating other potential problems that wasn't the problem

INSTALL NOTE: IF you install this and you have a Panasonic Camera Controller mounted on top of your STARLINK module, you NEED TO REINSTALL THAT UNIT. Having an incomplete CAN system will result in many other failures such as no interior/exterior lights, won’t shift out of park, etc.! Beware! But after that, it’s all gooood. 😁

I used your video to install in my 2020 Impreza. All works. I just can’t seem to get it to click in. The bottom isn’t going in the slots. How did you get it in?

@@mxstyles92 yeah in the top right where the screen is there is little dot, if you use a tooth pick you can press the button to reset the screen

Restart the head unit and then plug in again

One thing I would really like to know is how long does it take for this head unit to boot up when you turn the car on. Is it a matter of a second or 2 or are we talking like 30 seconds to 60 seconds or even more? I am ignorant and don't know how these android based head units work. Thanks in advance!

Hi, thanks for the great video. I have a 2019 Impreza and my android auto/carplay automatically disconnects after sometime. I have to replug my device to get it back, but it disconnects after a short while. Tried every possible solution found on the internet as very limited resources available for impreza. Do you also experience similar problem or I'm the only one here.

@@nishantmalik20 I have done this as well but it also has lots of disconnect problems. Not sure if my issues are due to some faulty USB cabling in the vehicle or the head unit itself.

@@daynerhoades have you tried going into the 'Dealer's Options' and checking there if your connections are 'Ok' or 'NG' means Not Good. If you not already know, you can get into the options by holding down the home button and pressing tune/scorll knob 6 times.

@@daynerhoades so have you tried diagnosing the USB outlets? If you go into Dealer's Options (by holding home button and pressing tune/scroll knob 6 times) and go to connections you will find your usb ports displayed as Ok or NG (Not Good). By default it'll say NG, just try plugging in a usb and see if it changes to OK, if not then you have a faulty usb port that you need to change.

I bought my 2018 Subaru Legacy in part because it has a CD player. Also the volume and tuning knobs. These units eliminate those features for what, a bigger screen. I believe the car shown already had Apple Car Play.

Ive been driving car for weeks with no radio at all the stock radio just kept turning on turning off over and over on a continuous loop and the radios are so expensive on ebay and cant seem to find a answer on witch one i need if i need the black box or dont need it some come with some dont iam super frustrated with Subaru the car was a lemon form the beginning the rod bearing went after 2 months of having car at 50,000 miles and now car is at a 11300 and it needs a the same thing agian but i need a radio im goimg insane i have a hour + ride one way to work and its to much to listen to complete silence need help asap plz

@Reid Tomasko That's great. I have another specific question. Does this head unit still talk to the small display above it? The MFD? I'm asking because in my vehicle, for some reason, I can't access the settings by pressing and holding the INFO button. When I connect to the car with my phone through the Android Auto, and when I have the setting on my radio set to update the time automatically, then that little display (the MFD) gets updated with the correct time and date. I wonder if this idoing head unit still provides the information to the MFD. I'm afraid that if it does not, I will be stuck with the wrong time and date since I can't access the settings in the MFD. Thanks.

Hi. I think it would be an easy test on your side. If you start your car, play anything from the radio, then scroll through the screens on the MFD (small display on top of the dash) using INFO button. If one of the screens pops out says audio and it shows current audio input and what song is playing, then yes they still talk to eachither. If you go through all the available screens and you dont see it, then its a NO. Let me know if that is something you could test 😉 thank you
