You will not catch me staring at the sun
Not sucking on a dum dum
Not turning round to run
No Hallelujahs and no kingdom comes
So you will not catch me staring at the sun
Do you hear that thunder?
That’s the sound of strength in numbers
Fee fee fi fi fo fo fum
I smell the blood of a million sons
A million daughters from a hundred thousand guns
Not taught by our teachers
On our curriculum
Do you hear that thunder?
That’s the sound of strength in numbers
I am I
Unify
Not a single thing has ever been mended
By you standing there and saying you’re offended
Go ahead, tell them what I’ve intended
I’ll say what I mean, do what I love
And f*****g send it
Do you hear that thunder?
That’s the sound of strength in numbers
There’s nothing brave and nothing useful
You scrawling your aggro s*** on the walls of the cubicle
Saying my race and class ain’t suitable
So I raise my pink fist and say black is beautiful
Do you hear that thunder?
That’s the sound of strength in numbers
I am I
Unify
I am I
Unify, Unify, Unify
Do you hear that thunder?

When asian honeybees find a murder hornet scouting their hive to set it up for an invasion they send out a signal and in an instant they swarm and surround the intruder, forming a ball of bees around it, completely incapacitating the hornet and trapping it inside. Once it's immobilized the bees then proceed to begin vibrating in unison, slowly but surely increasing their body temperature until it becomes hot enough inside the sphere to cook the hornet alive. Wild enough on it's own sure, but the crazy part is when you find out they vibrate to 115 degrees which is just hot enough to roast the hornet and only 1 degree less than it would take to kill the bees themselves. Strength. In. Numbers.

Idles just has a way of getting through to me in a way I can't explain. It just is, and I cannot thank them enough for that. Beautiful, honest, aggressive and raw. I have introduced my teenagers to them, and they responded the same way as I did. You transcend gender, age, race, and class by just saying what many are afraid to say. Idles are a gift to the world. Thank you.

I personally feel, It's something that hits the sweet spot ideally in generation-Y First time i heard this, it was post modernization of the stule of music i grew up with. Familiar enough for me to keep listening and fresh enough to keep me engaged and the lyrics and message, is something that a 30 something guy like me can relate into, having grown in alcoholist family, being poor and bullied, yet still having hope for something better and feeling a genuine need of investing in future generations, not by working constantly and baby booming but through community, education, love and unity. It's like John Lennon incarnated in a form of punk band.

Rasimusic Yeah, funny that isn’t it?!?!? Well, no, not really! Its because Idles are part of the mainstream system, along with countless other bands and celebrities, that are currently pushing an agenda they’ve signed up to push to an impressionable and easily influenced audience. Anyone with a brain, who is a true individualist however, can step back, look into things for themselves and find out what is really going on under the surface right now. As for the new track. It’s boring and sounds like much of a muchness, just like most of their other more recent stuff. Their old tracks are miles better. Good live band though!

@@shininglevels5453 I agree, i like the sound of the band but last songs have just been about the sound. I thought the chorus was weak. Maybe they're going for a more Swans style aproach with their music. About the lyrics/message, they're pretty much Woke, the band as far as i can see. They have valid points, but are too much rooted in identity politics, like many of the protest going on right now, and they're very efective for manipulating people's emotions through social media, news, and yes, art. I'm speaking for myself here, but the real problems to me seems to be about power imbalance between the poor and rich, multiculturalism, pedophilia (yes, the powerful, included the church are very good at throwing smokescreens and protect themselves), lack of moral values that come from disintegration of the family, and the ongoing deshumanization of our conduct by cathering to our most basics instincts, mediated throu technology, basically we're in a Black mirror episode.
