@LWKGD where in your mind there is any relation between personalities and toxic masculinity. Really there is no connection between a social behavior and your own personality. And also, what have to do your comment with the first comment. Make some connection.

@@michaelmckeown5396 Thats how the far left describes what the rest of the world calls an Asshole. Women can be assholes too. It has nothing to do with Gender. For example, Women will get upset with their Man during a break up and destroy his property. If another man did this he would run away in hopes of not getting found out. Otherwise his ass would get beat. A woman will destroy your property invite friends over to heckle and boast about how they fucked your shit up. Reason being? A man cant beat a Woman even if shes being a cunt. While most men would have thier asses handed to them for doing something like that.

@@yupisaid I see your point and I understand what you're trying say,but I think that the idea of "Toxic Masculinity" can be described like this:There are two extremes 1.A guy who is the biggest piece of whale shit to the point that nobody likes him,a guy who has no sympathy or empathy towards other people, 2.The biggest coward, the most harmless person there is,a boy who doesn't speak for him self, the only form of attetion he gets is pure pitty.I think the point of not being "toxic" is to find a balance betwen these two extremes.I like IDLES for this reason, they don't go around being pieces of rat shits, nor being cowards. They say what they want because they feel like it,if there is something bothering them they'll say "FUCK OFF YA CUNT".I think that's the point of true masculinity, knowing you could be the biggest asshole around and yet choosing not to.

This band is great, Joe seems very knowledgeable, but the number of people in this comment section who disregard everything he is saying is pretty lame. To say that IDLES are "gay" or "cucks" because they have the balls to talk about serious issues in society is contrary to everything they stand for.

  • @charliervrs

"Serious issues" lol they only repeat the talking points of the MSM. However, I think he has a great mindset when it comes to ordinary life attitude; great work ethic and sense of personal responsibility, no entitlement, something that really lacks among modern "progressives". They're way too fixated on race and gender though, something that pulls us back into the most regressive sort of tribalism. As someone who disagrees with many of their political views, I can appreciate some of the messages in their songs. Danny Nedelko is a monument for successful immigrants who should be celebrated, but they really do lose track of things claiming that being an immigrant automatically makes you a great person and worthy of praise. They should find middle ground and opposing view points, if they truly want to progress they'll do that in their next work.

The narrative of men have privilege is not good for masculine identity crisis it’s very harmful. Great band but their politics are WAY off what kind of punk band sings about being a privileged male that’s fucking bullshit. Men are killing themselves left right and centre, they can’t get custody of their kids, they’re losing in education, they getting whacked on Ritalin at 4 because they’re held to female standards of education in school, and then these pretentious bristol CUNTS jump on stage like people going to a punk fancy dress party and sing about being entitled, maybe you in your ivory tower pal but not us. This isn’t punk it’s out of touch southerners who’s brains have been poisoned by the forcefed idea of multiculturalism and privilege.

Shmooless are you fucking kidding? Have you ever listened to their music? You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about.... Their music about being a man always talks about how hard it can be, how hurtful it can be. And honestly, if you think men don’t have privileges you’re fucking dumb. Sure, women also do have privileges. Who has more or less is not really important. But you as an individual should realize the privileges you do have. And that’s not to feel guilty and lash yourself. When you know your privileges, you can use them as powerful tools for change, to help people who don’t have them. Don’t view everything with fear. Try to see some things with love. It’s a very different perspective. And for fuck sakes, LISTEN TO IDLES JEEEEZ

I don't agree with 75% of what they are saying, especially the privilege bit and the toxic bit. But I don't care, their music has energy. The music is a medium that connects people, politics divide people. I listen and accept the music bit, the lyrics are not for me, but doesn't matter. The guys have believe system and message that I don't agree with, who cares. I can just say "soy boys" or stuff like that, but that is a term that divides as is the "toxic man". People should find points they agree on, not ones they are divided by. And music a great medium for that. Lot's of energy, chaos, primal sounds, good job, that's punk! The message is not against the machine, it supports it, but people learn, people grow. Don't let stupid words divide you, listen to the music, not to the lyrics (if you don't share the message), be happy, be positive and be punk!

As a young lad I heard Red Roses For Me by the Pogues and thought it was too raw and Shane couldn’t sing but they became my most listened to and most frequented gig band. I heard these lads last week after being converted to Fontaine’s DC and loved their NPR gig. It’s really good.

Class being shackles of people’s perception is actually an amazing way to explain peoples ignorance or willful ignorance toward social issues. Some people will never understand and aren’t willing to understand what others deal with on a daily basis. This is also like Joe said a lack of empathy. Something therapy could help but you need to be willing to learn, change, and grow as a person.
