6:40 This is not an accident; that ship is being beached on purpose at a ship breaking yard to be salvaged later. Those other ships that got hit and pushed out of the way are already being broken for salvage, so those dents don't really matter.

I flirted with the idea of buying a 30-35 footer to use on those lakes in the Ozarks near where we live. Reading about all those drunk and otherwise stupid boaters changed my mind fast. The loss is the money to boat dealers. At least those many thousands of dollars I would have spent are safely in the bank.
How can you NOT notice that 6:40 one ship is literally cut in half and both of those ships are already beached? Just another Tuesday at a metal scrapping shipyard in Turkey.

When you see a boat beaching at a fast speed and there are rusting ships next to it, that's just the cut up yard, probably in Southern India or Sri Lanka. That actually wouldn't be successful if it didn't ground hard.

The thumbnail and 4:36, the vessel to starboard has the right of way. Though the stand on vessel still must do whatever they can to avoid a collision.
@FLaDave351

"Right of Way" is something that is debatable, and in the end the bigger ships have the right of way because they are restricted in their maneuverability.
@ptrinch
2 жыл бұрын
@@FLaDave351 Not so much 'debatable' as it is incorrect. There is no such thing as 'right of way' in navigation rules. There's only 'give way vessels' which must taken action to avoid the collision and 'stand on vessels' which should maintain speed and course (unless it becomes clear the the give way vessel is not taking any action). And as far as size... might does not make right. The 'restricted in their maneuverability does not mean that the boat that is harder to maneuver has the right of way. It applies to ships that can't change their course due to such activities as dredging, laying underwater cables, ocean floor surveying, and the like. Below that, on the pecking order, are other categories which could be size dependent, such as restricted by draft, but that does not appear to apply in this situation.

There was a older man who took his pontoon boat out for a spin. The boat went through a winding channel. The boat was found floating without him on board miles away (it ran out of gas). They had search & rescue looking for him with a cadaver dog. Some time later his body surfaced near his home. The boat went through the channels by itself
My favorite part of the whole video was volume control
Unbelievable!!
It’s actually the deckhands or the Bosun’s mate’s job to remove the dock line’s but it still falls upon the Captain
OK! WHO writes this stuff? "The driver of this boat decided to sail into a choppy channel sans floatation vest causing the boat to capsize as soon as it entered the channel" What? The driver didn't have a vest on so that capsized the boat ?! - never mind that everyone aboard clearly has a vest on... And he wasn't "sailing" to put a finer point on it. Excessively high speed and a standing wave from an outgoing tide... Oh, never mind. I'll watch these with the sound turned down.
