  • @ptrinch

    @ptrinch

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@FLaDave351 Not so much 'debatable' as it is incorrect. There is no such thing as 'right of way' in navigation rules. There's only 'give way vessels' which must taken action to avoid the collision and 'stand on vessels' which should maintain speed and course (unless it becomes clear the the give way vessel is not taking any action). And as far as size... might does not make right. The 'restricted in their maneuverability does not mean that the boat that is harder to maneuver has the right of way. It applies to ships that can't change their course due to such activities as dredging, laying underwater cables, ocean floor surveying, and the like. Below that, on the pecking order, are other categories which could be size dependent, such as restricted by draft, but that does not appear to apply in this situation.

The driver didn't have a vest on so that capsized the boat ?! - never mind that everyone aboard clearly has a vest on... And he wasn't "sailing" to put a finer point on it. Excessively high speed and a standing wave from an outgoing tide... Oh, never mind. I'll watch these with the sound turned down.

    4:45 the boat on the right had right of way, if the videoboat is also a private vessel. The other boat came from the right, so "our" boat has to give way to him. So basically "we" hit him instead of him hitting "us"

    Spot on, easy to remember from the little rhyme: "If to starboard red appear ti's your duty to keep clear " , lots of exceptions mind such as constrained by draught and restricted ability to manoeuvre.
