    This was super helpful! I bought an air compressor, brad nailer and stapler and have no idea how to connect anything. I even took the hose to a hardware store. This is just what I needed. Thanks so much!!

    I’m glad I came over here after you speedy first video. I didn’t need this one as much as the other, but the images helped me think over the first video. I just didn’t have enough time to process your first video. So what I’m assuming you did was took all your tools and added a plug quick connect to them with tape and then at the actual hose you added a coupler quick connect? That’s what makes sense in my brain.

    Hey great video. I am fairly new to air compressors but I notice almost everyone combines brass, stainless and aluminum when using these fittings. Is using dissimilar metals not a big issue here?

    @@TryAdaptLearn neither have i. Which is why i am thinking of simpler and better alternatives to existing-methods(brazing, clamp) which are "hard-wired" and depends on "crazy" labourers. When times are bad, consumer white-goods need to be "plug and play" or left on the shelves.

    OK either I’m a super slow learner or there’s something not driving with my cobalt air compressor. I have one of the big standing ones that I’ve had it for two years and I’ve never been able to use it because I can’t get the connector to fit right. I havepurchased numerous set and something is not driving. It’s not connecting to it so that I’m able to use it. It is a cobalt standup air compressor and I bought the cobalt connector set so it should be so super simple but it’s not. It’s not working at all please help.

    I was hoping for an array of different plugs and hearing what they are called and which connector is needed for each. I bought a paint spray gun (obviously Chinese) with a plug fitting I don’t recognise. The ones I have are all marked AHF 1/4 but the one fitted is not that. It also has a smaller diameter thread so I can’t swap it out.

    Sorry the video didn’t cover this but thank you for sharing this. It gives ideas for future videos. I can understand your search. I have not heard of AHF and it would be hard to determine if AHF is the initials of the manufacturer, AHF 1/4 is 14” air hose fitting, or even 1/4” airless hose fitting. Thanks again for sharing and good luck with you search.

    What size would i use for those little clip ends that you connect to the Schrader valves ? I want to put a ball chuck on it ?

  • @TryAdaptLearn

    @TryAdaptLearn

    11 ай бұрын

    The Ball Chuck in this video has a thread of 1/4 inch NPT. As far as a clip, like the locking chuck, I think it would on the one you buy. I have seen some everything was put together (lock/hose/gauge) with 1/4 inch NPT. I also have seen locking / clip chucks attached to a hose with smaller and sometimes fine thread. The packaging or description should tell you the thread size, then you'd likely want an adapter if the thread size doesn't match the threads on the air hose you have set up.

    Thanks for the video. I've been using milton fittings for around 5 years now, and some of them get dents around the collar on the fitting itself. For example, over time my fitting on my old tools no longer fit in the same coupler I'd been using for a few months. However, the same exact fitting from the same package it came in fit like a glove. Have you ever had this happen to you? I can't find an answer nor anyone with the same experience anywhere on the internet. It's strange and I'm tired of purchasing new fittings over and over again. I made sure they're the correct type and they're all from the same manufacturer. Also, after a few months the couplers get stuck to the fitting while it's pressurized, making it extremely hard to get off. No one else seems to have any information on this. I'd appreciate any help, even a recommendation of different manufacturer. Thanks again

    None of my fittings had the problem as you described. Usually I have the hoses as femal and the tools as male. Perhaps the fitting on the tool has wear and tear like nicks that can be lightly filed down to fit the tool but not let the air escape.

    Can you use these with an airless paint sprayer? Sorry if this is a dumb question

  • @TryAdaptLearn

    @TryAdaptLearn

    The thread size needs to match otherwise an adapter will be needed. Once the thread size matches then the internal diameter may effect pressure and flow. Best option may be to try to identify the airless thread size then see if if there are airless fittings for that size.

    Pipe sizes for years have dropped the "inch" nomenclature. One thing you did not address is: Some couplers DO NOT accept all plugs.

  • @TryAdaptLearn

    @TryAdaptLearn

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you for your feedback. Although many consumer air compressor fittings may be marketed with "in.", it's good to know that "inch" is no longer apart of the pipe size. This is good to know when communicating with professionals or hardware suppliers. Thank you for also noting that couplers are not compatible with all plugs. Even "universal" couplers may have limited compatibility with a few of the most popular standard size sold, but not all.

    @@TryAdaptLearn Although I have not investigated the issue, I suspect that someone sued the pipe industry (similar to the suit about lumber sizes) about the size not being accurate. I wish I could link a picture or vid to this message and show you the problem I ran into trying to get coupling/plug insertion. DROVE ME NUTS! (Well if you are a golfer the analogy is more accurately "a gimme" for be being nuts)

    Not that I know of, these fittings are specific to air hoses. I would check in plumbing fittings for water. There are also connect/disconnect options for water but they will be most likely marketed to end of the water hoses and attachments for water hoses.

    @@TryAdaptLearn Many thanks for your reply .......................... I didn't think I was going to get a reply as the video is over a year old! The reason why my comment may seem a little rude and abrupt ( obvious frustration showing after hours of research ), as no one seems to mention one of the most important factors when buying a air hose online, is the 'Diameter' required ( internal diameter that is ). Without this information, you most certainly wouldn't be able to purchase the correct one. In my case, it was 6mm I'm sure this information will help many many others in their quest ; ) TURK
