I have been just kinda cherry picking through his latest ones. They're entertaining enough still. He points out stuff that I wouldn't think twice about. Idk how old it is but I recently saw one he did on a crate of old Soviet block 7.62 ammo. He's kinda all caught up on any power tools I'd care to see him review. He's kinda limited that way so I cut him slack on the field trips. His "fauxcabulary" (lol) was kinda annoying at first but it kinda grows on you, huh... I find myself using some of it sometimes

Same here. Been a carpenter all my life and if I get a really leaky one I'll use a piece of plastic or a Wal-Mart bag to help it seal.
I've often cut my own rubber washers by slipping a rubber tube fully on a drill bit in a drill and running the drill as I run a knife blade through the rubber. Any thickness with a perfect square cut. From paper thin washers and on up. You can even slip larger diameter rubber hose on hole saws to cut float bowl rubber gaskets for small engines. Great video as always !!!

I built your bead buster many years ago to fix tractor tires with. Worked like a champ! Now, I think I will cut the tire shop out of my expenses and bet a tire machine and make some of your other tire tools to go with it! Thank you :)

Great tip! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come across this problem and didn’t know where the air was leaking from. Thank you. Richard
Worth watching again , awhile ago I went to a yard sale and got a box full of shop type stuff for 5 bucks ,and one of the things was a new box of Miltons like yours they are the best I have ever used thanks again TANK
I appreciate and enjoy any person who has the determination and confidence to disassembled, troubleshoot and attempt to make useful the things any one of us may be dealing with. Successful or otherwise. Usually with a story of success? And then to share your knowledge is a kind and thoughtful gesture. I just let them leak until I'm done with it but still, good story!
I rebuilt Automatic Transmissions near 35 yrs,I only used the truck style couplers but this is a good idea. Thank you Sir😊
GOT-DAMN GENIUS! Have always hated buying new fittings just to fix the air leak. Now, I'm a fixit yourself kinda guy and tried many things to "fix it" but NEVER thought of this. Thank you and guess what I'm doing next!? Lol.
Sweet tips! I'd never thought of trying to open one of those up. Now that I know, I'll try it next time I have a leaker! Thanks man👍
Thank you! One of the best and easy DIY..it took me 3 min to fix mine, both ends were leaking! Thank you
Wow! Thanks so much for this tip. Love it when I (wife) fix something & once again wow my husband, LOL!!! I was frustrated with a leak at my tool line out...took it apart, reversed the washer & voila...just like you said, I'm back in business. Now, I also know that in a while I'll need to get a new Milton coupler. Thanks again!!
That is some good info Moe! All the years of leaking quick connects at work and we would just put a new one on. Gonna try your fix on a few air lines on Monday. Thanks.
Great tip. My "o" ring seemed to be in good shape but I reversed it anyway and added a drop of oil. It worked enough to get air into my tires. Thanks a lot!!!
I fixed all my fittings and it was so easy and so effective. Thanks for another great instructional video.

DoingItCheap Good and bad with either style. The steel rusts but takes a beating. The brass ones, you drop the hose a handful of times during normal shop stuff and it gets all bent and distorted and doesn’t seal or even connect.
Great information on the connection repair. I do have one small negative that has been a life long pet peeve of mine forever. The channel locks were used correctly when you took the fitting apart but backwards when putting it back together. Not like a lot of force was required but it really makes a difference when a sure grip is required.
I just watched this again 5 weeks ago but today I decided to fix mine, I couldn't believe I forgot already how to do this so had to watch this again after I drop those 4 small balls, several times, luckily I found them. But after all that it's back together and no leaks, I also find it hard to believe that those small rubber washers cant be bought somewhere from someone......... Thanks for posting!!!
I do not have any air couplers but I still watched, because you can always learn stuff from Moe. " Just flip it over and yer good to go!" Ha. Thanks Moe!

The tire chuck you recommend in the description is the one I've had for about 6 years. It's always outside in the elements and has been knocked around plenty but it still works great and doesn't leak any air. It's a bit bulky. More so than some lock on chucks but not as much as others like my old one that always leaked and would pop off if it wasn't on just right.
Great job extending the life on the couplers. I used to go with the Harbor Fright fittings years ago, but found it to be really false economy. I'd end up with more leaks and compressor run time which equaled more wear on it. Changed them all out for Miltons, best investment on the air system. I've used this method on water faucets for 30+ years, makes perfect sense for air too. Thanks for posting!

Great vid. Now I'm glad I saved most of my leaking brass female plugs. I remember, many years ago I learned to use a flathead screwdriver to freshen up the brass Female end by inserting it in and twisting the flathead against the round contact surface that the Male plug pushes against. I don't recall that ever working well or at all. Now I see the fault in using that method.
Video deserves a thumbs up. The puppy deserves two. 👍👍

Yip made my day. Fixed mine before video was over. Thanks!
Good video and tip! The last 2 cheap air tools I've bought came with a quick connect that leaked out of the box. I honed the flat tip like where you filed yours, but the actual problem was they were ever so slightly too short, from the triangular locking part to that sealing tip end. Had to replace them, no way to fix that.
Excellent advice! And thank You for keeping the video family friendly too! :)

Chucking the male end in a drill press or lathe to make sure the end is filed square can save you from replacing the o-ring. the ends get dented easily especially on the aluminum adapters so a good touch up is the first thing I'd try. thanks for the video.

The ball holes where out also , especially if you use air chisel or air chipper and the chipper is the worst and can wreck the coupler in one use , l have wrecked a few and need to put a 3 foot whip hose on it like l did the air chisel . Air wrench's should have whip hoses also .
Great advice! I was not aware this could be done. You get what you pay (or not) pay for. Spend an extra dollar or two on a quality tool and have less headaches down the road. Support an American business and buy Milton.
