HispanicbRBX Well a lot of people play online games in Turkey, like, a lot. It would be a great choice to learn it with online games but I wouldn't suggest it to a beginner. Turkish slang words are so complicated and using them is a bit childish, they sound funny if that's make sense. Instead, play offline games which are about daily life or has a story. Anyway, I can help you with it. If you have questions, just ask me ~good luck with it :)

Lazy Person's guide to learn a foreign language extremely fast. 1. Memorise the 1000 most common words 2. Watch movies subtitled and spoken in the language you are learning. Add a second subtitle in your language if you struggle. How do young kids become fluent by the time they turn 3 or 4? Do they know how to write or read? Have they ever studied their language? You subconsciously learn the grammar and pronunciation just like those young kids. You listen and read at the same time. That's exactly how I learnt my english in just one year(~300 hours). Basicaly those 2 steps are the most important ones. I would still hung out with native speakers after a while, changed my pc and phone menu to the language i was trying to learn, read articles, talk to myself etc as a side help. Fluent in just a year without even trying hard at all. Fuck books and lessons.

+Kochos Couldn't agree more, I learned english the same way. For the longest time of my life I was really bad at learning languages, pretty much always the worst in class. Being dyslectic I thought I was just naturally bad at learning languages but once I changed my approch to learning, form a very academic to a very natural one, it was easy as fuck. No extra classes, no dyslexia therapy, non of that worked as good as simply changing the languges of TV series, movies and video games to english.

+Kochos exactly! i am mexican and i lived in mexico for the first 11 years of my life. I would take english lessons after school, where they would try to teach using books, grammar and all of that stuff. I went to those classes for like 4 years yet i still barely knew any english and i could NOT have a proper conversation in english at all. When my family and I moved to the States when i was in 6th grade I started to memorize vocab words, watch tv in english and have friends that only spoke english. I was able to learn it perfectly within a year. Just one year after living in the US (going into 7th grade) I was already taking english accelerated at school and ever since Ive been in accelerated english classes or AP english and i have no accent at all. This method is much, much better than learning from books in my opinion. Now I'm in the process of learning french.

I couldn't agree with u more, I learned my English in three years or so, and now I am learning Spanish, I gotta say the way I learn English is exactly the same as u did. U know, listening and speaking in the language u r learning ,creates a language environment is really helpful.

+LordMontystink Just because they're identical, doesn't mean they will have the same eye sight My eye sight got worse because I spend a lot of time at the computer, maybe the other guy does too, or maybe because there is another reason, Eye sight doesn't depend on birth, and your twin's eye sight won't get worse if your eye sight does. Twins don't work that way.

As a linguistics major, any video with these two guys is just so interesting :)

I always thought it kind of sucked how Western children don't get as much opportunity to be bi-lingual as children of other countries do, except maybe Latino children in America. I have met kids from different countries and they were all excellent English speakers as well as their native language, but Western kids don't really have much need to learn anything else, and I think being bilingual is a cool accomplishment, and it supposedly sharpens your mind.

+Elizabeth Ashley agreed, I mean I'm italian and I'm proud of my english which is above 95% of the other students I had in my years of school and I'm not even that good, and if you consider english being the world's trade language it's even worse that my "accomplishment" is in a language kids in other parts of the world speaks as their native even if it's not. Well, my plan for early 2016 is getting into spanish since it's similar both to italian and my local dialect from the area I live in and then something else :)

Aelius Magnus No. I'm talking about how foreign children take English in school as a mandatory class. Languages in American schools are more often electives, and most kids drop it after highschool anyways.

+Elizabeth Ashley In Denmark we start learning english in 1st grade (6-7 years old) and in 5th grade (10-11 years old) we get to choose between french and german (or both). in gymnasium, we have to either choose spanish, french or german, but at my school (i'm in ninth grade, so 16 years old) we're learning german, french, spanish, english and chinese. So most danish children will be able to speak atleast 3 languages when graduating. + we have a lot of immigrants here, so the kids who aren't from a danish family, will be able to speak 7+ languages by the time they're 18 if they do well and pay attention in class. I'm currently learning french, german, chinese, english, spanish, swedish, russian and norwegian, and i'm so happy that our school system has given us danes the opportunity to be able to express ourselves in many different languages, which also gives a pretty good advantage for danes who want to study overseas or work outside of Denmark

Merel Ha Well, I don't really have any deep reasons to learn it. But I really like the history and culture of the Netherlands, and I'd like to be able to at least read it. I don't need it for school or work but maybe one day I'd like to travel to the Netherlands and be able to converse with the Dutch and to be able to experience their museums and historical sites to the fullest.

Apart from the two nerdy polyglot story, we are presented with the fact that Berlin has become the largest Turkish city outside Turkey. Good story.

Yep, they're from my city (Manchester) in England.

They are so nice! I m Turkish and I lived in Berlin for long time. In Kreuzberg, everyone can learn speak little bit of Turkish when they wish.Many shopkeepers are Turkish -origin. Its a huge multicultural neighbourhood.

I was hoping you had advice on how to structure my language learning. From what I saw you studied tenses and phrases as well as vocab and subjects and I just don't know where to begin to be the most efficient and use it in daily life.

It is very impressive! In my experience though, when it takes someone 12 years to learn English (or any language for that matter), it's usually because they are approaching it in an inefficient way. Often it happens because they're focusing way too much on writing, and not enough on speaking.

I guess it's worth mentioning that as not native English speaker are required to learn English, people are taught from elementary school until graduation... these days students start learning it around the age of 10 (depends on the country's educational system) Therefore you can imagine how much effort kids take into learning it... yeah. Not to much. I guess it's also a case when English learning lasts too long despite the fact that 'how easy it is'...

I've just read an passage about Matthew in my English language exam and met such an interesting human. so inspirational! And also their Turkish accents are great!

As someone who is learning Turkish as well I have to say they did really good!

I think that having someone to learn languages with would keep me a lot more motivated haha

While learning a language in a week may be a bit much for me this video always just fills me with such excitement and motivation for learning

I'm attempting to learn German and Spanish at once in three months and these guys have really motivated me to taking my language learning to another level: in comparison to what they have attempted, my challenge should be child's play! I'll let you know how it goes...

They really learned well in that single week, turkish is very different from german or english so it is even more impressive. But what I find most impressive is the lack of an accent in their english and german. I can't really tell which country they were born in because they speak both (from what i heard) accent free.

I was learning English in school for 12 years but couldn't have a conversation with a native speaker nor being able understand 70% of what they say. The education system didn't teach to speak or listen, it was mainly writing and grammar. I still make many grammatical errors though. Last year I decided to learn to speak for like 10 min when I'm free. My ability to speak improved by 40% by then. I was watching KZread videos and try to understand the tone they use, and repeat and speak afterward. Now I can have basic conversations. This year I decided to take learning English more seriously and invest more time in it. This inspired me so much. Sadly I have no natives to practice with, where there aren't many English native speakers in my city. I wish I had English native speakers friends :(

They finish each other's sentences! Having a twin would be great so I could learn Portuguese faster!! How did I never think of that!

i study korean for a minimum of 3 to maybe 6 hours depending when i end up feeling exhausted. this is all after school everyday and while i’m seeing myself improve i still have trouble forming my own sentences. i can understand more than i can speak and write. so this has definitely motivated me to commit more hours to forming complex sentences and grammar. maybe i should cram study like them.

i believe people get to learn stuff in diff'rent ways, some learn quickly through reading, others through listening, there are some through visuals, some others through hands on, may be imitating or writing and many several ways. you just have to find out what ticks for you.

Always great watching you guys! I tried vlogging for a week only in German a couple months ago to force myself to learn. However, it was right before I started my new job in Berlin and right after my German improved drastically. Maybe I will try again :P

I'm danish myself. If you really want to learn danish, don't be discouraged by the silent letters. We have alot of those, plus we often don't say it the same way in our daily lives as you might read it in textbooks. The best way to learn danish is by speaking with danes regularly. I wish you the best :)

English is easy. Use an app like busuu or duolingo. Learn the top 3000 most common words which you can do in a month and you will be fluent. Make sure to watch American shows and stuff. Good luck. Btw Turkish is awesome.
