    Of course Paul! I’ve not heard of a 2T vs 4T rivalry... if that’s true it’s the stupidest S*** I’ve ever heard of. The only powersport rivalry I can think of is the dirtbike vs atv rivalry. But, that’s understandable because quads are for non-helmet wearing inbreds.

    Another great video. Question, I've seen a number of your videos talking about tires, particularly the rear tires, I see where you tried and reviewed the Tusk Recon and you definitely seem to love the Kenda tires but what about front tires? What are you currently running and what others have you tried and liked? I'm about to do my 1st tire change and for the rear I'm going to give the IRC VE33S a try 1st but front tires there just isn't anywhere near as many reviews out there. The Bridgestone M59 seems to get good reviews, that's a 80/100 size only. My stock Dunlop AT81 is 90/90 so the Bridgestone if I go that route will be narrower than I'm accustomed to, not sure how much I'll notice though . Any thoughts on a great front tire? Riding is mostly slow to moderate speed, terrain runs the full range although predominantly intermediate, no sand at all, occasional muddy sections through tighter forest trails with roots and some occasional water crossings. There is no dessert where I'm from nor mountains, mainly forested trails and fire/forest service roads. Bike is a KTM 300 XC-W TPI.

  • @EverySingleSunday

    @EverySingleSunday

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hey Rod. Front tires are a personal thing for a rider, weight, style. I run the goldentyre 216 as in either a 90/90 or a 100/90. I like the fatty for hard enduro when there are tons of rocks but the 90/90 for most trail riding days. I run Thai tire everywhere and love it

    In the Gold Creek area there's around 100 miles of ST and a typical loop from the lodge, including FS road transfer sections, is about 60 miles. The loops that go to and pass over Packsaddle Mountain are all expert only. The last trail in the video with all the riders are taking a rest in the middle of the trail is Packsaddle. Since they didn't show the upper part when the trail gets really difficult, my guess is they were early enough that it hadn't been cleared yet and the snow hadn't melted off the upper half so they just planted it. Early September you will be fine. After September 18th, over half the trails close for the year because of hunting season. You can get an overview of the area on the "Where to Ride" section of PANTRA's website (pantra.org/where-to-ride/gold-creek-independence-creek-trail-system/gold-creek-lodge/).

The guy from Gold Creek do a lot of trail maintenance and put a lot of time in into getting these trails open every year as well. But that lodge pulls riders from all around the world and yes, it does get used quite a bit. But at the same time, if the lodge was right there, these trails might not even get opened every year.

    The scariest get-off I ever had happened when entered one of those wooden bridges...It was a little wet and bike came out from under me like I hit sheer ice, I went over the edge with the bike on top of me... Now I ride them like the biggest sissy pants in the world .... lol Awesome place, but what's with the group rest stops in the middle of the trails?? That's not good trail etiquette 😡

    Seems like a lot of new riders in that group between the constant foot dabbing and the mid trail stopping. Also, I second your wooden bridge scary experience. Just this past summer I was in bear town state forest in Massachusetts. It was raining out but I still went for a solo ride. Everything was going great, even the first few wooden bridges were fine. Then I hit a wooden bridge and my bike completely slipped out from underneath me. I went forehead first onto a rock. My neck got sprained but luckily no damage. I got a bruise on my forehead through the helmet. I can’t imagine my condition without a helmet, thank god for them. I now go extremely slow over any and all wooden bridges. But sand is fine in the rain, so I still fly over that lol!

    @@scottdrew6403 Maybe there's curse on those Beartown Forest bridges 👀 ... because that's where it happened to me.. The trail turns into those bridges and its hard to enter them straight on 😐 With my get-off, the front washed out immediately, I went over with the bike and felt my femur get pinched between it and the edge of the bike(I remember thinking; "there goes my leg") but it didn't break and me and my bike continued sliding down into the rocks and the stream.... Somehow, nothing serious happened... 👍 Newbs, or not someone should nicely explain blocking the trail, especially in difficult sections, is not cool....

    He’s not that old. But most these guys don’t ride technical stuff all the time and picking a bike up over and over will wear you out fast. I do this stuff a few times a week and I’m 245 pounds of man. Rather just help them out and make sure everyone is having fun.
