My .861 is one of the early versions built in about Oct. 1968. It was given to me as a BD gift on July 30, 1969 about 10 days after Buzz Adlrin wore his on the moon. I still have it and it works fine. My girlfriend paid about $275 with a 20% discount at Bamburgers, now Macys. It's pre-lunar and does not have the moon landing stamp on the back. But its not the .321 version that Buzz wore on the moon. The .861 model changed over in 1968 as I understand it. There is an extra jewel and a plastic replacement part. It runs at a higher frequency and is more accurate. It's over 50 something years old and looks brand new.

Well I understand why we haven't seen a video in a while. This must have taken a long time to edit. Excellent video and beautiful watch. I don't think that I've seen so much grease used in a movement! Your tools are as beautiful as the watches that you work on. I do have a question. When pressing on the chronograph driving wheel, how do you know the correct height? Does it bottom out, or do you actually measure it some how? Thank you for a wonderfully comprehensive video.

Really enjoying this and only about 15 minutes in. Great quality on the video especially the closeups. I only have one question though.... at what point do you put a watch in the spare parts bin? It looks like you are replacing a good majority of the internal parts on this and although I don't know the cost I am assuming you are far exceeding the value of the watch...(yes I understand this can be a sentimental thing, and this is possibly for a customer...)

Hi Dimitri, this was a fantastic video. I own a 1971 Flightmaster caliber 911 with continuous seconds hand. I need to replace the chrono driving wheel 1710 along with chrono friction spring, chrono wheel 1705 and coupling wheel 1712. My question, how do you remove chrono driving wheel 1710 and wear can I obtain the holder to support the jewel to install and press fit the new wheel. I have search the internet and cannot locate the Omega 506W002692 holder. I assume it's an Omega part, is there an optional holder to use? I am a watch enthusiasts in the USA. Thanks

I've noticed that on non rotating parts such as the stem square and yolk pivot, you only lubricate in one place. Since these parts don't rotate or only rotate through a few degrees, surely they are dry on the surface that wasn't lubricated?

Does the time have to be somewhere specific before attaching the hands, or just on an hour?
