Loved the SG. I have a red SG with the small pickuard but ive always wanted a black SG with the big pickuard.

Just bought the GS1, after owning from S type Antiquity for a few months. Really nice, no poking out frets.. chunky neck, no neck dive. Tuners seem ok and the pickups, probably going to swap them out. But very happy overall. Its a big guitar too, bigger than my Vintage VS6 (which is a similar model). The binding on the neck is nice.

Got one used for £70, no brainer. New strings, proper set up, it feels and sounds incredible!! Finish is amazing too. Much better in every way than my Vintage V100 that I ended up selling recently. I weighed it it’s 4kg. Solid! I’m baffled how they can make these quality guitars at this price..

They look and sound great! I wonder how they'll handle lower tunings. Would love to get one of these to tune to C standard with cables for strings and play some doom/stoner metal.

How do these fair compared to the likes of Harley Benton and vintage????? I'd be tempted to buy the LP sunburst your demoing but do they come with the choice of no scratch plate and holes that would be a deal maker for me

I get that house brands can provide great value for money, and that Harley Benton and to a lesser extent Sub Zero, Agile and Michael Kelly, have all proved that house brands can be great guitars but not everyone needs to have one. It's starting to get hard to keep track of whose house brand is actually any good! Andertons seem to be endlessly trying to flog their bog-standard knock off strats and LPs and now you're in on it too.

  • @MiisterShane

I don't understand the issue, nobody's asking you to keep track on your apparent spreadsheet of house brands Providing value and making a buck on the lower barrier to entry seems like a win-win. Honestly wouldn't make sense not to

  • @xneurianx

@@MiisterShane Was only sharing my own personal opinion as a PMT customer. My opinion is that it's hard to keep track of which house brands are good value for money and which are just cheap knock offs in an already overcrowded budget market where there us little to nothing to differentiate between products. Option paralysis is already an issue in that price range. Just my opinion. Perfectly okay for you to disagree obviously, and this isn't me trying to argue; just to explain my point a little clearer, maybe.

@@xneurianx Fair enough, I'd just stick with brands that have tons of coverage and/or a store to test them out beforehand. Seems like you'd only need a couple of brands to cover the spectrum as it stands

@@MiisterShane Agreed - I'm just being a grumpy old man shouting at the sky, mostly. It does seem odd how many house brands there are now, and every shop is plugging the hell out of them - PMT put TWO of them in their "best affordable guitars of the year" and never actually mention the fact they're a PMT exclusive brand. Just seems a bit disingenous. I dunno, I'm probably just jealous that cheap guitars are good these days and when I was new to guitar in the late 90s I had to put up with spiky fretted nightmares with the pickups wired backwards! It'd be okay if I was one of those "I sound great on everything" guitarists, but I REALLY need the gear to pull it's weight 'cause my fingers are NOT gonna do the heavy lifting.

Antiquity? Is this supposed to be in competition with VINTAGE? Anyway, the look good, and sound great, but I don't think they're available in The U.S. (Neither are Vintage) Perhaps Antiquity and Vintage should consider selling their guitars in The U.S. through Reverb, like Thomann in Germany has. I'm always look for good quality cheaply priced guitars. These look and sound great. Anyway, I hope people in The U.K. and Europe will enjoys these, even if they're not available, stateside.
