I finally got a chance to meet him in person recently (and get my photo with him in full makeup and costume!) and he was a really down-to-earth guy to his fans. Sting isn't the type to B.S. about how he feels about the industry and he constantly gave off the vibe that he was tired with everything the entire time he was at the con. Still, he also tried to get as many questions answered as he could so I can say that he still cares about his fans. Absolutely fantastic guy!

We all know why he didn't get the match, Vince didn't want one of his Golden boys that he's spent his entire career building up to lose to an "outsider" like Sting who was the poster boy of a rival company. All that does is sends the message that WCW still has hope in this saga and puts over a WCW star over a WWE legend. Imagine what that would do to merchandise sales? Takers likeness and being at the end of his road, they wanted him to go out on a high (financially and reputation wise). Taker has been loyal to the company for years thus Vince wasn't worried he'd jump ship to any new promotion that may start up, whereas he was unsure with Sting. Sting also was collecting injuries which meant he couldn't use him and put him in the WWE fold of things, instead it just felt like the last WCW warrior taking on the giant that is the WWE. I am sure after a few works, Vince would have made Sting a WWE star, but in order to do that he had to break him down and all the WCW glitter with it and then rebuild/rebrand him. Vince doesn't make the matches FANS want to see, he protects his assets/wrestlers from depreciating in value which will cost him money.

Sting's career has always been an enigma to me. Started out his career wrestling with The Ultimate Warrior and even after Warrior's passed Sting is 63 and still going at it week in and week out on AEW at such a high level. It's like he's barely aged, has worked for every major promotion at some point, and has played so many unique versions of himself, nothing short of legendary. Just wish he won at WrestleMania "WOOO!"

Tuesday mornings were rough 🥴 I lived in Minneapolis and the Vikings had just got Randy Moss and the Timber wolves were all the hype with Kevin Garnet. The wild hockey team was new. Sports was great back then. I was popular late night radio DJ at kmoj and working as a full time firefighter 🧑🏿‍🚒 The 90’s was the shyt! Thanks for the memories!

McMahon's decision to: - bury Sting at WM 31 - deny him the match of all matches with the Undertaker - deny him AGAIN the match of all matches with the Undertaker is why Sting waited as long as he did to get to the WWE in the first place. He knew the WWE would fuq his character, and he was proven right on more than one occasion. I don't blame him at all for going to AEW, who clearly know what to do with his character. McMahon would've had the buyrate to end all other buyrates ever if he had only chosen to put Sting and Taker in a match at WM (or pretty much any other PPV). They could've milked that storyline for well over a year to build as much hype as the world could stand and then delivered on it putting them in the ring for a match. Instead, he blew it all to Hell more than once. Vince is poison. His product has never been worse. Thousands are flocking to AEW now as a result. His buyrates are trash. His shows are plummeting. He needs to step the Hell down and let someone else steer the ship before he hits the cliff that we can all see ahead. If anything, AEW's popularity won't be as much their own doing as much as it would be Vince burying his own show so bad that AEW benefits by default. Not saying that AEW doesn't deliver the goods...but their rise to the top as a contender would be as a direct result of Vince's decisions that lead to his own product becoming all but unwatchable. It's like watching the waning years of WCW all over again, just under a different banner. I can't recall the last RAW or Smackdown I watched. It's been THAT long. From a man who used to cancel all other plans on those nights to be in front of his TV to watch it live. I've refused sex to watch RAW live (no, watching it in DVR isn't "the same thing" dear...). Now you couldn't pay me to watch a show. My bro got me to watch a couple episodes of AEW and now I'm watching that instead and it looks amazing.

I'll never forgive WWE and Triple H for how they handled sting when he finally joined. For never giving us sting versus The undertaker. We didn't want to see HHH with him. It was a rivalry no one wanted. Bunch of petty nonsense making it a point to bury as many WCW guys as they could. The Monday night wars were long over and they literally had one job with sting. But Triple H never can resist being the biggest egomaniac around. He absolutely should have lost that WrestleMania match to Sting. And you didn't need the stupid NWO reunion angle either. HHH didn't need any more wins. It's pretty well known that he has been the booker for any match he's been involved in in about the past 10 years or so

if they did sting vs undertaker I don't think fans would of been upset if sting lost and it would of really made up for the dumb decision to end takers streak in the first place. instead we got undertaker and Bray wyatt...who cares? also I agree Triple H was on the bottom of dream matches we wanted to see sting in when he finally got to wwe. Undertaker, The Rock, Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold, even John Cena. all I would of rather seen wrestle sting at mania over Triple H. I will disagree about not needing dx and the nwo though. It was pretty obvious Trips and Sting weren't going to put out a wrestlemania quality match by themselves so they kind of needed those run ins to keep the match interesting and make it wrestlemania worthy. But Sting definitely should of beat triple h. if he wrestled taker no one would care if he lost. but triple h? fck off. just let him win his first fcking match then triple h can get his win back since his ego cleary needs it at a later PPV.
