Landscape Photography tutorial:
During this video I learn how to master ICM (intentional camera movement) photography in Tenby in Wales, you can definitely see the progression through the video as I shoot sunrise on two different occasions using different techniques. ICM Intentional camera movement is a method of photography where you capture images using the movement of your camera. Your camera movement is intentional and deliberate to create a certain composition. I decided to use the waves with the colours of sunrise to create various abstract compositions. Let me know in the comments which set you prefer? I came away with some helpful tips which I hope you will find relevant and useful. Some of which involve using my NISI True Colour Polariser and a Monopod. I really enjoyed filming this vlog during a recent trip to Tenby in Wales and am currently filming for my new video which will be released in a week or two. Thanks for following along with me, appreciate the support.

Your words of “Remember to connect with your location” are spot on! So many photograph opportunities I have lost not doing just that. I show up with a preconceived image and become blind to the unique images that present themselves. I work on being in the moment constantly when approaching my photography. Nice video… Thank You

Thank you, so glad you also understand and see the importance of slowing down and connecting with a location. I've also fallen into the trap of being blinkered, happens to us all. Cheers for the support 🙂

Awesome video. I live a short walk from the beach myself but rarely get up early enough to take advantage of sunrises that are in a similar direction down the beach as yours. I think you've inspired this ole night owl to go to bed before midnight and get up before the sun to play with some abstract sunrise images when the beach and water are pristine and perfect for shooting.

Thank you, I'm glad it's inspired you. I think when you visit your more inclined to do crazy things like get up for sunrise but living someone does take a certain motivation so I'm glad to help. Alot of photographers in KZread inspire me to shoot so glad to give back. I hope you get to see and snap some beautiful mornings there 👍

Nice to watch... Especially liked the set of photos from the second day! The almost meditative drone shots inbetween really show your appreciation of taking in the scene and the moment, which I think is very important in photography. Did you consider taking photos with the drone? - I thought there were even some great shots in those sequences... I have tried ICM before but not on the coast. In my experience perhaps 1 out of 10 shots turns out well but the results can be really nice. Keep up the good work ;-)

Thanks, I agree I think returning for a second day paid off. I'm glad you like the in-between drone footage, I think it's worth the extra effort and certainly makes the video more relaxing. I did come away with too many photos as ICM is a little like rapid fire photography but managed to dwindle them down (kind of). Thanks 🙏

Great video!!!😊 Haven't tried down at the seaside myself, but I've been doing ICM around where I live and on any subject I think I might get a good pic from. Even did one of a reflector in the middle of my street, which turned out OK😊
