IceRinkRake

Спорт

This is a video on how to build your own ice rink rake for around $15. All parts can be purchased at most home improvement stores. Parts list: 1 - 10' PVC pipe (3/4") 2 - PVC end caps (3/4" slip) 1 - PVC T (3/4" slip) 1 - PVC ball valve (3/4" slip) 1 - PVC slip with female hose adapter 1 - PVC primer and glue kit 1 - saw You can ask the worker at the home improvement store for the best option to connect the hose to the PVC. This year, I am removing the PVC slip with female hose threads. I am using a PVC slip with male threads and a Brass hose that will thread to the PVC.

You need to attach an old towel or floor runner to the back so it smooths out the water coming out of the holes and lays it flat on the ice surface, like a real zambonie. Just an add-on to a great idea (I'll be using some old copper piping I have laying around so it'll be less than $15 for me, lol)!!!

U can use hot or cold and it is better to attatch a old towel or something behind so it will drag along and flatten the ice

You have to use the primer/glue stuff. You could by the PVC that screws in and use plumber's tape, but then you couldn't custom cut your PVC.

You hook up your hose to it. turn the water on, and drag it along the ice. It will put an even amount of water on it.

A 45 elbow between the valve and hose adaptor keeps the hose level but otherwise great simple design

And also, you need the glue or else the water will leak out at the joints.

More stupid questions.... can you run normal (cold) hose water through it? I read on one site that we should hook up the hose to the house and run hot water? Also, I'm assuming you drag it hole-side-down? Thanks.,
