oops! You answered the question, but why did you cut it? Wouldn't that make it unusable for the next year?

I have boards up now. It is going to snow tonight around 15 cm . Should I lay the the tarp down now and have it snow on the tarp and then add the water when the temp goes down? or should shovel snow after and lay down the tarp? Thanks

Probably should shovel first otherwise when you flood the ice will be bumpy

A little elbow grease and a few screws compared to thousands of dollars. Yeah I’ll be going with this route.

if you let ground freeze up with two or three light floods the rest of the floods will just build up. don't flood on snow though. been building a rink for 10 years with no plastic works fine for me
