That’s what I thought as well! I was there at the very beginning of June, just a couple days before lava blocked the path from the 2nd viewing hill, and it still looked like a big hill. Now? It’s just a small bump, surrounded by lava.

Sure wish someone would give a little love to the back side of the main volcano and fly over the now dormant fissures and cones that are still all lined up behind the volcano.

The 4K allows me to fully use my TV's Zoom feature. At a lower resolution, the Zoom would quickly blur.

I absolutely can't express how beautiful this volcano is. Iceland is FULL of beauty there's so many things to be seen!

Just imagine.....this was how our entire planet looked like once a long long time ago.

Sublime. That's the right word. You treat it as something animate, observing its behavior, as it sits there between ocean, hills, and clouds, narrating its history, its becoming. The storytelling of those flights makes one forgetting that we (well, you) are flying, just sensing the space of that becoming earth. I love that cinematographic approach ❤️, getting embraced... unfortunately I do not own a cinema :) otherwise i would ask you for a license! thanks so much for sharing, indeed (I almost said, i do not found appropriate words ;)

A new chapter in the volcano's life, I was kind of expecting those breaches of the crater rim happening, and between the active flows there is already the start of another breach visible, some lava splutters from a hole trough the crater wall.

Incredible, to remember back how it all began. Just 2 little vents 30m high, and the lava field the size of a football field. And look at it now!

What a time to be alive, great detail I just love it, when I sit and stare at the bubbling pool I just think what it was like when the whole world was like this in the beginning.

Last night's show certainly was a spectacle to behold. I watched for an hour, as bits of the edge of the crater were eroded and dropped away; waiting and watching, watching and waiting... ... I hope someone recorded it, I'd certainly save it to watch over again.
