    This looks delicious. I've used Belgian dark chocolate truffles to make a great Philadelphia style ice cream. A bit of heavy cream makes it velvety smooth. Thanks for a great video!

    @101jos101 it's easy actually, what the maker does is to break up the ice crystals that form with regular freezing so... place the mixture in the freezer, wait about 30 min - 1 hr, take it out, break the ice crystals down using a mixer. put the icecream back in the freezer, repeat until it's about the consistency of what you see on the show. Then you should be able to simply leave it in a freezer in a sealed tub, leave at least 1/2 inch to expand, for a few hours and get perfect icecream :D

    Here it is (if you don't have a blender, whisk it well)-have to get that cocoa mixed in with no lumps before you process. Easy Chocolate Ice Cream Combine 2 cups half & half, 1-1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup cocoa powder and 2 teaspoons vanilla in blender. Cover & blend on low speed til smooth. Whisk in 2cups whipping cream and freeze as directed-about 20 minutes. For Rocky Road, add 1/2 cup mini marshmallows and peanuts into ice cream right after freezing but while machine is still running.~Rita

    Hi, I live in Australia and I have no idea what 'whipping cream' is, so I have no idea what to buy for this recipe. We have 'pure cream' which is the most liquidy, thicker than milk, 'thickened cream' is obviously thicker and double cream which if you whip it, it'll get to the consistency of whipped cream like you get from the cans, only thicker. Which one should I use for this recipe? Thanks!

    Are the frozen peaches unsweetened? If so, then your plan sounds good. Depending on how sweet the peaches are...and how sweet you'd like the ice cream, you may want to add a bit more sugar or even a sugar substitute.

    Hi, I've been looking at other ice cream recipes kind of doing my own comparison and I was wondering why yours doesn't require any heating at all. Is the heating just to dissolve the sugar? I'm trying find a base ice cream recipe where I can start to vary in different other flavours, providing I get the basics down.

  • @Abouteating
    @Abouteating14 жыл бұрын

    @takatomon This recipe is "speed scratch" requiring no heating since there's no real custard base. Most ice cream recipes call for a custard (eggs, sugar, dairy, flavoring) base which you cook and then cool before making ice cream out of it. I have a master recipe for this with variations if you'd like that. The ones made with a custard base are super creamy. BTW, try my clone of Yagoot frozen yogurt. Awesome! Rita from AboutEating.c

    Check out the freezer section in your grocery for the strawberries in this ice cream. It's easy to find a 'block' of strawberries that are sweetened. Most in a bag are not.

    @RecipeCook There are two basic kinds of ice cream that I've heard of. French style uses eggs and milk that are cooked to make a custard and that is then flavored and frozen. Philadelphia style omits the eggs and cooking, yet keeps a rich creamy texture by using heavy cream in the ice cream base. I buy 'manufacturing cream' which is 100% dairy cream with nothing added. It costs about $12/half gallon but is worth it. I just uploaded a video of my recipe if you are interested in seeing it.
