Coming here after 13 years. I remember watching this video when i was 5 or 6. Now I'm 18. I feel so nostalgic watching this
So glad it worked out in your new ice cream maker. I love mine and we've had the most delicious ice cream all summer.
wow that looks like heaven. I need to get myself an ice cream maker ASAP!
I tried this recipe in my new Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker and it was heavenly! Delicious, delectable and simply delightful. I guess I'll be making this a lot this summer! Thanks for the recipe!
This looks delicious. I've used Belgian dark chocolate truffles to make a great Philadelphia style ice cream. A bit of heavy cream makes it velvety smooth. Thanks for a great video!
i love this video! thx for sharing! i'v been watching this video like 20 times!
@101jos101 it's easy actually, what the maker does is to break up the ice crystals that form with regular freezing so... place the mixture in the freezer, wait about 30 min - 1 hr, take it out, break the ice crystals down using a mixer. put the icecream back in the freezer, repeat until it's about the consistency of what you see on the show. Then you should be able to simply leave it in a freezer in a sealed tub, leave at least 1/2 inch to expand, for a few hours and get perfect icecream :D
Great video....Thanks for sharing!
Just tried this with partially frozen berries and woe! Was churned in about 10 minutes. Just used 1/2 cup of sugar. Want to try the chocolate next. This is great and easy too. Thanks.
thanks. you made it easy for us to follow
omg ! it looks so delicious. im so making this.
Mmmm. I love strawberry ice cream. My favorite flavor.
Tried it and came out perfect
Very good presentation. I don't have a ice cream maker as yet, but very interested in purchasing one. That Cuisinart to which you used looked very easy and efficient to use. Thank you for sharing your recipe and ideals.
looks yummy and easy, will definitely try as i have this machine, can i use half and half?
thxx for sharing your recipe..:))
@AnotherAmateur That sounds so good. I've not heard of philadelpia style icecream. Is it like gelato?
My Cuisinart is arriving tomorrow. I have been looking for a simple recipe. This is it! Please make another using other ingredients?
Will it be the same if I use half and half ? Please reply ASAP ! I really want to try this ! It seems so good and heavenly !
Thank You So Much! i Like ur Vidz
I use heavy but light works, too.
I haven't tried this ice cream maker recipe with Splenda...but I expect it might work if you're looking for a sugar free version of ice cream that's still sweet.
@fineboi911 Just about any retailer that sells them: Macys, Target, Walmart, etc.
Here it is (if you don't have a blender, whisk it well)-have to get that cocoa mixed in with no lumps before you process. Easy Chocolate Ice Cream Combine 2 cups half & half, 1-1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup cocoa powder and 2 teaspoons vanilla in blender. Cover & blend on low speed til smooth. Whisk in 2cups whipping cream and freeze as directed-about 20 minutes. For Rocky Road, add 1/2 cup mini marshmallows and peanuts into ice cream right after freezing but while machine is still running.~Rita
Hi, I live in Australia and I have no idea what 'whipping cream' is, so I have no idea what to buy for this recipe. We have 'pure cream' which is the most liquidy, thicker than milk, 'thickened cream' is obviously thicker and double cream which if you whip it, it'll get to the consistency of whipped cream like you get from the cans, only thicker. Which one should I use for this recipe? Thanks!
Are the frozen peaches unsweetened? If so, then your plan sounds good. Depending on how sweet the peaches are...and how sweet you'd like the ice cream, you may want to add a bit more sugar or even a sugar substitute.
can you tell me which gel is filled in the pot? the one that freezes when you put the pot in freezer?
I think you'll like it!
Hi, I've been looking at other ice cream recipes kind of doing my own comparison and I was wondering why yours doesn't require any heating at all. Is the heating just to dissolve the sugar? I'm trying find a base ice cream recipe where I can start to vary in different other flavours, providing I get the basics down.
@takatomon This recipe is "speed scratch" requiring no heating since there's no real custard base. Most ice cream recipes call for a custard (eggs, sugar, dairy, flavoring) base which you cook and then cool before making ice cream out of it. I have a master recipe for this with variations if you'd like that. The ones made with a custard base are super creamy. BTW, try my clone of Yagoot frozen yogurt. Awesome! Rita from AboutEating.c
is this recipe ok to use in a hand cranked icecream maker,i think mine is a donvier icecream maker, i havent tried it yet,got it at a yard sale,
You can to blend the ingredients together, but you still need to freeze it in the ice cream maker. But if you want bananas instead of strawberries, that's OK, too.
@keys112009 You should get one - you'll be glad you did. Rita
how do you make the sweetened strawberries? do you get them from a sweet store?
what kind of whipping cream did you use? heavy or light?
@RecipeCook i think ur ideas r quiet nice.
for pistachio ice cream, do you crush some pistachios and add green food colouring?
Bought some frozen peaches for our first try. I think I will add about 1/2 cup sugar to the peaches after I chop them up. Let them thaw a bit before putting in cream. Thoughts?
Hello - maybe I missed it but what kind of maker are you using? Is like to purchase one to make icecream for my kids instead of buying store bought brands. Thanks!
Check out the freezer section in your grocery for the strawberries in this ice cream. It's easy to find a 'block' of strawberries that are sweetened. Most in a bag are not.
I've not tried it in my ice cream maker recipes, but it should work. The ice cream won't be as creamy in texture, but it will be lower in fat an calories. Let us know how it works.
Hi! I need to know how much this would make? I need it for a project that I'm doing for a group, can you please reply as soon as possible? Thank you :)
Can u make chocolate ice crean with wipped cream chocolate vanilla and sugar too
omg its a good ice cream
@RecipeCook It is a no-cook style of ice cream that uses heavy cream (double cream) instead of eggs to create the smooth texture.
@RecipeCook Is there a way you could make icecream like that without one ifso please tell me or even upload a video on it
Hello Can you use a variety of frozen fruit??
@cristina3031 half and half, milk, egg yolk... but cream is better or a mixture. I use about 1 cup milk, 1 cup half and half and 2 cups whipping cream (35%).
yeah i swear. in the booklet it says put the cap on, turn the machine switch, and THEN pour it. but i guess it worked for her either way.
were you get the ice cream maker
@RecipeCook There are two basic kinds of ice cream that I've heard of. French style uses eggs and milk that are cooked to make a custard and that is then flavored and frozen. Philadelphia style omits the eggs and cooking, yet keeps a rich creamy texture by using heavy cream in the ice cream base. I buy 'manufacturing cream' which is 100% dairy cream with nothing added. It costs about $12/half gallon but is worth it. I just uploaded a video of my recipe if you are interested in seeing it.
i thought you're supposed to heat the mixture a little to dissolve the sugar? anyways it looks really good, i can't wait to get one of these units and try it at home!
You've got to let us know how your new ice cream maker works out. I'll try to get some new ice cream recipes up soon.
can you use milk for the whipping cream
@keys112009 Cuisinart - it's great and will last many years. Rita from AboutEating
i love 🍓🍦🍨😀 🖒 and how to make the 🍓 into a sweeted
do they have to be sweet strawberries?
Posted on my birthday
@SinnFein4ever For some recipes, I've seen them use 2 cups milk, sugar to taste (2-4 T.), vanilla bean, and some vanilla extract if you want. Hope this helps! (:
do you have chocolate icecream recipe???
what is the whipping cream ? is it just a thick cream?
burntflybog asked: "I think I need to get on out to Macy's and buy an Ice Cream Maker. What model are you using?" Mine is the Ice 20 Cuisinart model that sells for $60 - sometimes on sale for $49.99 at Macy's.~Rita
Stalling, because I was wondering if I can use 1/2 1/2 instead.
Was posted on my birthday
Five Stars!
Any Caramel & Cashew recipes?
@SinnFein4ever Hmmmm. Ive also seen them use cream, and ALOT of them do. I don't have cream, but im getting an ice cream machine, and when I do, Im gonna try the no cream recipe and see how well it comes out! I'll post my results (:
Someone asked if this could be made w/o an ice cream maker. Not this particular recipe as the texture depends upon the churning process to make it creamy.
Yes, they are unsweetened. It arrived today, so tomorrow may be the great unveiling!
nice
how many cups of sugar should i add for making this strawberry ice cream with the same quantity of ingredients which u have added in this video.. i wanted to know because u did not add sugar so its a bit confusing..... i am gonna make this ice cream today(1-4-2010)so please tell me faaaaast
I wonder if it costs more to actually make ice cream, now that I seriously think about it. About the only good thing about DIY ice cream would be the sugar control, such as using Splenda.
Hola, buen día puedes enviarme el vídeo en español
@fire1202 Sure - it just won't be as creamy smooth but will work fine. Rita from AboutEating.c

AboutEating my ice cream gets very hard after I freeze it and gets ice balls in it. Is there something I can do to fix that?

hahahahaha "hw about sum nuts he lovessss nutttsss, i hope u do" hahahahahhahahahahaahhahahahahahahaha he sure does love nutsssss alot of them hahaha sorrry that just made me laugh ICE-CREAM LOOKS DELICIOUS :)
ice cream maker only stirs the ingredients in a cold enviroment. Check for the other videos to see how to do it without a maker.
"Crema de leche o crema batida".. Has un google por Whipping Cream y mira las imagenes para que tengas una idea de lo que es.
Well, I made it and it was good, but too rich. I'll use 1/2 1/2 or whole milk plus 1/2 1/2, and add a little more sugar with peaches. Fun machine.
why are all the voices so soft???
You don't have to do that in this recipe. The sugar usually dissolves just fine for me.
too bad I don't have an ice-cream machin..T -T
I Prefer Chocalate..........LOL
@hellin9000 that is negligible
