    Good breakdown of the return of the ozone water. But what about the supply? Is it supplied from the main pump or does that ozonator have its own independent pump?

    @@bodynutrition201 Hello! The water is supplied from the chiller and returns back to the chiller. The ozone is supplied from the ozone generator and is injected into the water in the tub and dissipates in the water. Just let me know if that doesn’t answer your question!

    Appreciate the details and time investment to help out the community. Did you affix a water stone to the copper nickel line inside the IB500 and if so what was necessary? Polyethylene appears not to hold up to ozone based on a few sites. Any thoughts how to affix either the copper/nickel line to the Ozone generator or a different rigid silicone or rubber tubing?

    @@ronbrkaric2532 Hello! We do have a stone on the end of the line. You can kind of see it in the short video on our channel here: kzread.info1y4nv3gWR6Y?si=Aa1u_M-rvwvnWcHc I think it helps diffuse the ozone and helps it be more effective by increasing the surface area so I intended to always use the stone. I have it attached at the end of the tubing in the IB500. So far our polyethylene tubing is holding up. The research I did showed that it should work with ozone but I will look some more and see if it might become a problem. (I have been using chat GPT on a lot of that research as well). I don’t have a good suggestion on how to go rigid to the ozone generator. I kind of treated it like conduit where in a situation like our set up, if I was running wire, there would be seal tite between those 2 points. Allowing for a little movement. If there is another rubber tubing you find that works with ozone, I think that would be fine to try. If any of our stuff quits working or starts breaking down due to ozone or weather, I will post an update on our channel for sure. That’s a long response there, let me know if that answers your questions or not and any other way we might be able to help!!

    Is there a problem with the stone putting ozone gas out and getting into the chiller return?

  • @JustinandElana

    @JustinandElana

    @@TheSaltGroup Hello! I don’t have a problem with mine doing that. I have it set up where it is close to the bottom of the barrel, about an inch off the floor, and then off to the side of the return about an inch. I checked my placement by turning the ozone on with the chiller running and watching the stone / bubbles. The bubbles all go vertical to the surface and none in the return. I actually don’t think getting some bubbles in the return would be that big of a problem other than hurting the efficiency of the pumping ability because it could cause some cavitation. Also any components there that could be affected by the ozone. So I would suggest having the stone off to the side and then watch it in operation to make sure the bubbles go vertical. Let me know if that answers your question or any other way we can help!!

    Thanks for the video. Looks like a great setup. I just bought an Ice Barell 500 and looking to add a chiller. Curious about your chiller set up? Any details you can provide? Thanks a lot

    Thank you! For the chiller, I researched plenty and was back and forth on doing a DIY or purchasing a unit. I decided to go with the spartan max 1HP chiller/heater unit for $2k. It gets well below freezing here so I wanted the option to heat the water if needed. I have the chiller in our garage with the lines running through our crawl space to the ice barrel 500 which stays outside. I do have insulation around the 3/4 lines that run through the crawl space. I keep it set on 45 degrees. It has been running for a month now rock solid with no issues and I’m curious to see how it continues to run once I get more time on it but so far so good. I will say the unit is not what I would call quiet and it is a larger foot print and heavier than most other chillers. None of those things bothered us though due to the location we have our unit. The sound is what I would expect from a unit that size, I just wouldn’t call it quiet and wouldn’t want it running on my back patio if we were hanging out back there. Let me know if you have any questions about any of that or any other way we might be able to help!

    @@JustinandElana Amazing. Thanks so much for the response. I also live in a relatively cold climate, New York. Do you think that until would be able to stay outside during the winter? I don't have the ability to pipe it into the house, but really want to be able to use it in the winter.

    @@mendel621 The company states it can be used outdoors and is rated for that. The main concern is below freezing temperatures. As long as the unit is running and water is flowing, it “should” be ok. The risk would be if you lost power or if the unit faulted out, then the water could freeze, expand, and damage your chiller if you weren’t home to react to it.

    Really back and forth between this and the new grizzly 450. How do you like the 500? How do you like the bench / more upright position vs laying down? How easy is it to submerge yourself?

  • @JustinandElana

    @JustinandElana

    My wife and I are both really pleased with the 500 and glad we purchased it. We have a large height difference and this works for both of us well. I prefer the upright position vs laying down myself and so does my wife. It is very easy to submerge. I do it every time by just sitting on the bench and leaning forward. The only thing to keep in mind is your height and how far you want the water level to be on your body. I am 6’4” and I want the water up to my chin. There are a couple ways to do this, but where our water level typically stays I do it by sliding my butt forward off the seat and pulling my feet up off the floor. Another way I will do it is by turning side ways and I can go down as far as I want to there. If I sit on the seat, the water level is just a little too low for me but perfect for my wife. Any other questions, just let me know!

    Great video, I have the ice barrel 500 and ordered a 38,000 mg/hr ozone generator off Amazon for like $150. Is that too much since you said yours was 500mg/ hr? I was planning on just dropping it directly from the top down since I don’t have a chiller setup yet. Should I want for a chiller/ filter before going straight to Ozone?

  • @JustinandElana

    Congrats on the 500! I would bet 38,000 is when in air mode only. For example mine is 28,000 in air mode. You will need to look in more detail or in the manual for the one you purchased to see what it puts out in water mode. Also, you can do the method you are referring to without the chiller/filter set up. Any other questions, just let me know and I’ll do my best to answer!

    @@matthewcecka4267 should be ok. Since you are injecting into water it will be different than if you were using the air side in doors. I would just suggest to monitor closely the first couple times you do it to see if you are getting any build up in that space and smell any traces of it.
