ICC ‘simply not what it claims to be’: Douglas Murray
Author Douglas Murray says the International Criminal Court is “simply not what it claims to be” after it announced it was seeking arrest warrants for Israel’s Prime Minister and Defence Minister.
The ICC is seeking arrest warrants for three leaders of Hamas, as well as Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Defence Minister.
“People have to remember that the ICC … is simply not what it claims to be,” Mr Murray told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“It does not have jurisdiction and, in my view, should not have jurisdiction.”

I agree with Sanders very little but he has been spot on with his criticisms of the way the far-right Israeli government has conducted itself before and especially after October 7th.

The application for the arrest warrant has to be scrutinised and approved by the court. If this happens, then every country participating in ICC (some 120 odd countries) has an obligation to respect the warrant and proceed with arrests.

The international court demanded that Israel should do everything in its power to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza - but stopped short of ordering an end to its offensive. That was an action against a country. The ICC action is against a named individual.
And they draw this conclusion without even visiting Gaza or interviewing key members of the IDF and Israeli government… like having a court case in which only the corrupt prosecutor and judge attend with a preordained outcome 🙄
