I was struggling to figure out why the carrier was going to the right when I hit return. I checked the pullies, the spring on the clutch thing, and cleaned all of the bits that move as part of the carrier return process. Luckily I stumbled upon the culprit, and moving that little bar above the bumper bar made the problem go away.
