IBC pig feeder Part 1. (Cradle Build) From $2000 feeders to a $200 DIY

Part 1 of the instructional build video for the FarmBuilder Feeder, a low cost DIY bulk swine feeder for out on the pasture conditions.
Extensively developed & tested on our farm over the last 4 years, this feeder has revolutionized our ability to manage large groups of frequently moving feeder pigs on pasture with significant cost savings.
Depending on tank cost, the material cost for one of these units is around $200. Compare that to other bulk feeders costing in the thousands.

    I’ve been waiting on this. My first bulk feeder was a round rusted out mess. I used metal and pop rivets to fix it. I now need a second bulk feeder. Hopefully your design will be my go to as we build this farm up. Great so far. Thanks for sharing!

    If you put caps on the pipes that swing, and just put a hole in it to run the rod through, you may not get feed, water, bugs inside the pipe? Love the video!!

    Jordan, off subject a little. How thin do trees have to be in woods for grass to grow behind the pigs? And what kind of seed is best considering more shade? Thank you much

  • @FarmBuilder

    @FarmBuilder

    2 жыл бұрын

    For good growth you need sub 50% canopy. We seed with barley, it seems to work best in the shade.
