Nice review Bob. I have the Ibanez TMB30 and love it. I'm amazed at the quality of such an inexpensive guitar. Nothing wrong with guitars made in Asia, especially if they are a brand name like Ibanez. They have a name to protect, and will not, as a company, allow substandard guitars to be made, even at such a low price point. I chose the TMB30 model because I was looking for a short scale. I've been playing guitar for quite sometime, and the short scale bass is a nice transition. I have purchased numerous guitar over my life time, and all of them needed a setup of some kind. Funny thing is, my TMB30 didn't need any adjustments at all. Right out of the box is was pretty near perfect. Not bad for the cheapest guitar I've ever purchased. I have to laugh at players here that poo poo guitars made over seas, especially Indonesia. Well, they can laugh all they want, but I've had my issues with some of the $hit that came out of Corona California. Yeah, I've got stories.

Hey Dave, yeah the bass sounds great if you can find one that's not too heavy.

I briefly had one a few years ago that had a Double J bridge pickup with a split switch, block inlays, and binding. It sounded decent, but was very noisy and not the best fit/finish....but, for the little money it cost, I still considered it a value....by the way, I went by to see you last week - you werent there but i walked out with a Schecter 5 String lol

Thank you Bob I enjoyed your review of the Ibanez TMB 100 Talman 4 string electric bass. The two jazz style riffs you played during the clip are amazing, I could listen to these all day long but they seem very complex. Could you recommend a quality 4 string bass music book with tabs that I could study and learn these or similar riffs?

Hey Moravia, did you know that you can slow down the line you want to learn on you tube? Just click on the gear symbol below the video. I'm not a believer in using tab. The lines are not really complex. Slow the video down and figure out one piece at a time. Best of luck!

Im picking up mine in a day or two and hope it comes from the factory set up well.

I tried one of these. Little too heavy, neck a little too chunky, and those controls are potentiometers mounted on a circuit board. They have breakage issues and are tougher to replace. Another great review though...

the pickups are passive but it does have a eq which is why it requires a 9 volt battery . how heavy is it ?
