    great playing there niclas...congrats!! Id like to ask you a couple of questions....if i may... 1. how long have you been into 7 string?? i am thinking for the transition...and i am being hesitant for the moment 2. I like the RGIR27BFE version of thi guitar which is made of mahogany...and would like to ask you about its sustain cause its the bolt on neck...and it hardware quality (bridge and tuners)

    Iordanis P. Thank you! :)1. When I wrote this song I had play 7-string for 14 months I think but I had played 6-string guitar for many years before. The transition comes naturally after a couple weeks, give it 2 weeks or so and learn to play both songs that are written for 7-string as well as 7-strings.2. I've never tried the mahogany version of this guitar but as far as I know mahogany is a very good wood for sustain. They have improves the bridge now (I had the first one which hade the Gibraltar 1 ) now the are equipped with Gibraltar 2 and that's an improvement. The tuners are ok. Bolt on vs set neck or neck through is a personal preference. Neck through may have a bit more sustain but a bolt on has a more snappier tone, a bit clearer I think. :)

    Niclas, Great playing. You also play an ESP LTD H-1007. Do you have a preference between the two guitars? What would you say are the pros and cons of each?

  • @NiclasKarlssonguitarswe

    @NiclasKarlssonguitarswe

    Thank you marshall! Both guitars are great but they differ a bit from each other. The Ibanez has a basswood body with a bolt on neck and the LTD has a mahogany body with a set through neck. The Ibanez gives you a lot of guitar for that money. It feels great, it sounds great and the setup was great right from the box. The LTD is a bit more exclusive and has a higer quality feel but it's also more expensive. Also very good setup from the start and very good intonation. A bit thicker neck on the LTD but in a comfortable way. Cons may be that on some spots the Iron Label has not been very polished. Some rough ends on the neck for example. The LTD is very well buildt. Another thing that I personally doesn't like is that they have soapbar pickups. It limits you if you want to change the pups. The LTD hasn't got a ground connection cable which can cause you some problems if you want to change to passive pickups. They are both great guitars but I have sold them and now I have an Ibanez RGD2127FX Prestige which is in my opinion a much better guitar but it's alsio more expensive. I'm working on a video for that one! :)

    I have a 6 string Ibanez now, and was thinking of getting a 7 string Ibanez. Came across this , what's the advantages of a 7? I'm hearing so much more deph

    The low B-string gives you more depth and a wider range but you can downtune your 6-string if you want the low tones. In that case you'll have to put on much thicker strings. With a 7 string you got that range without sacrifice the higher register for solos etc.

    How's the weight on that guitar? I don't mind basswood at all as long as the guitar has some overall weight to it you know? Great vid man, thanks.

  • @NiclasKarlssonguitarswe

    @NiclasKarlssonguitarswe

    Thank you! I think the weight is quite average. Maybe a little bit heavier than a regular 6-strin RG but that is maybe due to the thicker neck it has compared to a 6-string. It's nothing that I have reflected over by the way. :)

    Cool, thanks man. They don't have this guitar anywhere locally for me to play and I love the looks and the hardware...but if an axe has a weight issue that's something you can't fix, you know? Thanks again bro.
