What are the odds that this bass guitar master is demo-ing the bass I want. I don't think I've ever been so impressed with a demo. I hope u are shredding in a prog band. Unreal.

Well I did get one. Extremely comfortable to play, ergonomically sound, well balanced, with a lot of nice features. Let down by the pickups a bit: I’m changing them for Aguilar equivalents. Obviously this is a very subjective assessment; others may like them but they are pretty muddy IMO.

I got a brand new 2021 Ibanez EBH1005SMS-EMM bass a few days ago. It seems to have a manufacturing defect. When the EQ switch is set to ON, attenuating the Treble Boost/Cut control does nothing. It’s as if that circuit is not connected inside the EQ. I’ve been searching through videos on KZread to see if anyone else is commenting about the Treble Boost/Cut control on their EBH1005SMS bass not working, but so far have not found any documentation or demonstration of the issue. Does your EBH1005SMS bass' Treble Boost/Cut control work correctly?

Does it use standard strings? I read there are hex nuts at the not a head and I think I saw ball ends at the bridge tuner on a picture but there's no definitive print or description. Does anyone know? I've clicked on 2 Ibanez "reviews" and no talk just play. They are very good players. Just no info.

@@stevewindsenergy no clue man, I'm really only an amateur myself 😅 ik for a fact it fits ernie ball standard slinky strings so it should be fine with most brands around thos parameters. Was advised against using heavier strings however as the necks (at least mine) are already wise already perfectly straight in standard tuning. Lighter strings might work but you may have to adjust the action

Daz, Daz, Daz... Why would you write this? That's 30 year old technology your are referring to. This bass, and all Ibanez headless basses use regular single ball strings, you just cut off the excess.. it has a set screw at the head that clamps the string in place. NOW YOU KNOW...THE REST OF THE STORY!
