Nice to see someone showcasing this guitar in a light other then jazz. Not knocking on jazz but the as53 can produce some really great rock tones. Love putting some gain through mine.

Simmon, I am thinking about getting this guitar. I play folk, worship, some rock, pop, traditional. Thinking of adding it to my gear along with my Taylor acoustic and Yamaha classical. Think it would work for all that genre as well?

Eric Paul yea Eric the as53 is truly versatile enough to play all those genres. Plus tone and style is all in the fingers anyways. The fit and finish is high quality from Ibanez. At first I didn’t love the matte finish and wanted a gloss like a 335 but it has grown on me.

how does this guitar hold up for a rougher tone? I play blues and reggae and thibk this guitar would be good for that but i also like to play metal everyonce in a while. i want one guitar that can hold its on with a good tone for the heaviest sound and the mellowest sound

i dissagree, semi hollow guitars reach their fullest in blues and jazz, they aren't really that good for rock or metal

+Giulia Margaria the guitarist from creedence clearwater revival uses a semi hollow guitar, while they aren't a county band they do have elements of country music in their songs which sound great

This guitar is absolutely killer for all styles. I use the TKF version an play in a hard rock band. I get crushing low end tones out of mine.
