i know henry was great, but people sometimes forget what wrighty did for arsenal, and george graham, he was sensational, and the best striker in his era, no one touches wrighty, special talent, god bless him, a passionate, and amazing man, loving and full of dynamite feet, he was the best!

He never had a youth career nor did he went to a football academy but with hard work he proved anything is possible.

Struck by how cleanly he hits everything. Even his headers seem clean. Everything just rifles in. What a talent he was.

His technique was definitely ahead of his time, paved the way for modern strikers/finishing

My all time favourite Arsenal player. When I think of Arsenal, I think of Ian Wright. Thank you for some great memories Wrighty.

Ian wright was the reason i started supporting arsenal i was 7 years old im from swansea and a massive gunners fan i used to love watching wright score i was arsenal mad when we won the cup winners cup in 1994 is my first memory of us winning a trophy i cried my eyes out the year after when we lost the final when nayim lobbed david seaman i was only 9 years old lol bergkamp is my favourite player of all time at arsenal but i loved wright he was the reason i started supporting them he is a legend its mad how thierry henry came along and broke wright's goal record so quick ian hadn't long broke it in 1998 from cliff bastin ian was as natural a goal scorer as robbie fowler COYG

Scored in cup finals too, unlike our Henry. I'd have Wrighty over TH any day. He managed all those goals with a fairly average bunch of midfielders behind him

Tony Adams wrote in his autobiography that he felt that Arsenal won the title in Wright's last season because the striker was injured for most of it. He felt that everything had to go through Wright as the focal point of attack. There is a reason why Adams failed dismally as a coach.

@Lee Sterland i think he scored 60 goals in his first 74 games for arsenal m8 phenomenal player Bergkamp is my favourite arsenal player of all time but wright was special shout out to van persie aswell 126 goals and injured alot aswell even though he joined utd Henry doesn't need a mention as he is the king of arsenal and the greatest player to play in the premier league 228 goals in 7 seasons wow

96/97 was his best season 30 in 41.. Great goalscorer!

If he was playing today he would be the highest paid player ever. He had it all. Probably playing in Spain somewhere earning HUGE money. Never mind though for someone who came into the game late (21) he did really good and has my utmost respect and admiration. Thank you Ian Wright you were fantastic..

+Tommy Tomtom he could score any type of goal from anywhere, left foot, right foot, headers when the boots are flying, tapins, 30 yarders, if you wanted someone chinned he's do that too. A true legend, world class.

I live in Italy and I saw an Arsenal history doc on ESPN channel. Many years later I'm watching these goals again. Damn, what a player! And what kind of crazy celebrations.

About the 1995 season (or the one that Arsenal got to the UEFA cup final) I got caught up in Arsenal's games (not an Arsenal fan) and everytime I saw Ian Wright play, he would score some ludicrous goal to keep Arsenal in the game or win it for them. What a player.

Wrighty was GB winner 91/92 season when he joined us and being all time Arsenal goal scorer and now Henry has taken over.

Notice how Kevin Campbell (probably one of the best lm in the world) was setting him up beautifully, that’s the power of teamwork

Wrighty was the most decisive striker. No hesitstion as if he plsnned everything a week in advance. Best of the best at scoring worldys

i love videos like this, not about scoring the goals alone but, this guy had amazing pace, very good first touch and dribble and ball control, quality finishing, technique and he reads the game very good. and all this combined resulted in 185 goals for arsenal, top notch shit right here.

I'm not an Arsenal fan so I never knew he scored his first league goal for Arsenal away to Southampton just like the player who went on to break his goalscoring record did (Theirry Henry) and at the same end of the pitch. I wish Eddie Nketiah (and other Arsenal 'strikers') were made to watch this every day. So many of Wrighty's goals are either 1-touch control then strike or simply strike first time (anywhere within 30 yards of the goal). Eddie could have scored 3x-5x as many goals if he just pulled the trigger like Wright did - he/they always takes too many touches. Wrighty shows how it's done - it's like striking is a lost art...

after watching this as an Arsenal Fan, my conclusion is that even though Thierry is the Club's All-Time leading scorer & Dennis is my All-Time favourite player, i think Ian Wright was a slightly better Striker than Henry because he was far superior at Heading the ball & was much better at being the lone Striker up front. Wrighty was like Pires, he was always in the right place at the right time when other teammates shot on-goal. He could score the tap-ins but also had the great skill to score out around the 18 yd. box. He didn't quite have Henry's speed but he could run past defenders from quite a ways out & score goals too. I think Wrighty was as clinical of a scorer as any Striker that i've ever seen & i've watched a lot of them. Wrighty's goal-celebrations were as funny as Richard Pryor 😄
