You really need to watch the original video to this song which is actually James Blunts song for his dad who was dying at the time. It’s raw and emotional. I have watched countless reactors reacting to it and very rare someone doesn’t shed a tear over it as it’s a beautifully sad song.

James Blunt wrote and recorded the song. Iam heard James sing it and that's why Iam sang it for his dad.

Jellyroll is a huge fan of Iam Tongi. That's Iam Tongi's mom beside him. James Blount wrote this song when his father needed a kidney. He survived after getting a donor. Iam's dad passed away from the same disease. Iam's mother is the one a sign Iam to American Idol. The rest is history. Love always. Ontario, Canada

This song actually saved James Blunts Dads life. The song was a goodbye to his dying father. James writes excellent songs. Deep lyrics always beautiful.

Iam’s father passed two months prior to him auditioning, and James wrote the song about his father when he was battling with cancer. So Iam brown down cus it was so recent, and James broke down for him and surely in resonance as well 😢❤

Before Iam auditioned for Idol, he lost his father (he says 2 months earlier in his audition) He auditioned with this song and then he sings in this video with the original singer/songwriter, James Blunt. Those feelings and emotions are still fresh and raw, so he gets emotional when singing this song in particular. He had said before that he can literally still hear his dad harmonizing with him when he sings. Jelly Roll was sitting by Iam's mother and he had his arm around her consoling her because her son was in tears while trying to perform it.

My son (18) heard this song for 1st time yesterday... it left him in tears ... I wasn't prepared for that

I just love James. When I first heard of him I heard the song beautiful. I feel in love ❤. This is very hard to watch one their father and surely James dad won't be to far behind. So, it's extremely emotional for both of the men to sing..

A family member saw the video and called to see what was going on. Learned of Charles illness and went to get tested. They were a match. This is how the song saved his Dad. So James literally chased the monsters away for his Dad. This is why James is so emotional. His heart is broken for Iam and remembering when he was waiting for his Dad to die from kidney disease.

Every time I hear this song I think of my sons saying this to their dad. He passed three years ago and we miss him everyday. Beautiful song.😢

Man, people who suggested this one first made an unwise decision.

James and his father were both in the army, just like me and my dad. This song hits me like a freight train every time. My dad fought for his country in a war so I wouldnt have to. He chased the monsters away for a whole nation, and for me. The monsters chased him in his dreams for the rest of his life. RIP my dear father and god bless every veteran out there.

Don't listen to No Bravery by James Blunt. Another tear jerker. And listen to this entire song. Watch the video. His Dad was dying in the video and is in the video. It was Charles Blunts idea after hearing this song written in tribute to him. He wrote it as a goodbye. So James can't imagine what Iam is going thru but he can. Difference is that this sing saved his Dad and he was an adult. Iam lost his Dad young.

Not cancer but kidney disease which was destroying his one kidney. He had given his other kidney to someone he matched with who needed one. Upon seeing the original performance of the song, a distant cousin offered to get tested and was a match (James and his sibs were not matches) and James's father is doing well now, years past the donation.
