"I didn't mean to! None of this was planned!" This month is the second time I've tried to write a novella only for it to turn into a novel so I heavily relate to this. I'm gonna try to finish this book tonight too, y'all, wish me luck! I'm at 60k and I think I've got at least 12k left to write. Which like, realistically 12k is the most I've ever written in a single day, so it's kind of possible, but I'm also gagging lol. I meant to write a standalone novella. Then a standalone novel. Now I know it's the first book in a series. I'm so stressed 😩 by myself.

I started writing a short story and it's probably going to be a novella or even a novel. I am still coming up with new things to add and I love the characters so much and it's difficult to stop. It's funny because if I want to write a novel, I have sometimes issues to write enough but this project is just writing itself :)

EEEEEEEE I'M SO PROUD OF YOU CONGRATS!!! You said you probs weren't gonna publish this so would you just post it on WattPad or Patreon or something when you feel it's finished and you want people to read it? It sounds SO DANG interesting and I'm super here for it! As a fellow writer I certainly relate a lot to loving talking and hearing about other peoples' projects! It's just like so dang good and fun and lovely and everyone's so creative and stuff! BTW April is also Camp NaNo so yeah if you wanted to do VEDA for April Camp NaNo we are all here for it!! Isn’t it crazy how you want to do it so bad you Do everything you can to not do it? I’m the same way, but in my case I got a full time job (and am an essential employee so no quarantine time for me) and a little baby daughter, so all the more difficult for me

I haven't watched Katy's videos or booktube or written in a while and I now realized how much I missed youtube and writing and her fun and friendly personality and nerdiness. It took a whole epidemic for me to finally take care of myself and be creatively productive but...it helps me to be positive! Stay safe everyone!!💕🙌🏻✨

I'm planning on writing a 50K first draft (or a zero draft as you call it) of a novel in April during camp nanowrimo. I have no idea how I'm going to do it. I honestly adore you for writing 50K in a month.

I agree! Kat would make a lot of money self-publishing. She cranks out manuscripts quickly (once she cracks down on herself, ha) and she has a loyal fanbase who would gladly buy her books.

What’s your advice to young writers who want to write a big project but don’t feel like they have enough experience? Or they’re not good enough?

Personally, my advice is to just write it. Or if you don't feel like tackling that particular story quite yet (I understand) I would write as much detail as you can about it (the characters, world, plot, etc.), to act as a blueprint for when you actually start writing it, and then you can try and write other things, like short stories or novellas. It's true that you get better with practice, and with each paragraph you write, you're better than the one you wrote before. There's no such thing as 'not being good enough'. Good luck fellow writer! Get those stories out! :D

I know I'm not Kat but this might help: Just write it! The best way to get better is to write and read. You learn so much every time you write a draft! Even if it's not good it's practice and no one needs to see it! Just write it and make it look nice on your second pass. No one sees it till you want them to see it!

You have to start somewhere. Sometimes that's just diving off the deep end and hoping it gets better as you learn and grow.

Awesome!!! Well done. I started a book around when you started rewriting the last book, but I've had to rewrite 5 times, and they've gotten better and better every time, still I'm well jelly. :) The key for rewriting for me is to take all your best ideas and go with them but rewrite what is not so great, but then you gotta rewrite them later lol.

I swear to god, if I get to the end of the video without you telling us anything about what you're writing... 🥺 It's so inspiring seeing KZreadrs telling us about starting a new project but then NONE ever tell us anything about the new project! Querying is awful and I’m in the middle of it too so yeehaw to both of us!

I am trying to write a novel now too because... we’ll ive got a LOT of time with this self isolation thing... and what sucks is that my laptop is NOT WORKING. I’m thinking about handwriting for now...

Surely she wasn’t serious when she said it wouldn’t be published.....would kat write a series of over 4 books and do all this work for something that sounds a,aging and then not publish it please tell me she wouldn’t I need this
