This is The Tale of Mr. Flintbranch. Listen to the original Christmas Story while I'm sharing my character design process. This story is written based on this original character sculpted in Zbrush and Blender.
Mr. Flintbranch is a charming dwarf who is struggling to connect with his family, who don’t have their noses in books 24/7.
You'll see me use Zbrush and Blender to create this 3D Artwork, so you'll know what design steps are taken when creating a character. A combination of Zbrush, Substance Painter and Blender was used for texturing the model.

Very nice, would you recommend any beginner lessons for zbrush?

I would recommend learning Zbrush, but sculpting in Blender is getting better and better. For stylized characters there is only one place which stands out. That is Shane Olsons 3d character workshop. Pixologic or now maxon has a lot of useful livestream conten from hard surface to organic. That would be a good place to start. AskZbrush is also a good series they have. It depends on what you want to do of course
