    My own mother is extremely manipulative & all of us kids have a complex relationship with her as a result. Deep down she's a really sweet & caring woman, but that manipulation comes out so easily for her it's detestable. You can call out the manipulation in the moment & she won't even recognize what she just did. It's tough. Our dad is a lot more reasonable & turbulent, which explains why they're still together after all these years. All of us would have a better relationship with him too if she could curb her bad behavior. Frustrating. We still love & see them both though. I'll still cry when she dies for sure. Sometimes I think it's easier to have a parent who's a complete piece of shit cause you can just cut them out & it's easy & understandable.

  • @janlore90
    @janlore902 жыл бұрын

    I was a single mom for awhile. I would call the dad to make decisions and when I needed help parenting, but a lot of the time he just didn't want to help. I gave it my all to make him a part of my son's life and unfortunately he just couldn't make him a priority. I would also never fight with my child like that. There is a difference between parenting/ discipline and throwing fists like a teenager. Sometimes you just have to breath and be the adult of the house. I just disagree with them(the girls) in some ways.

    I agree. My mother owned up to some things that have happened through the years. We have always been really close, but the men she chose to be in her life have caused some trauma for me through my life, along with some outburst through out the years. She has apologized for it all, and seeing her grow into the women she is now makes me proud to call her my mother. My 2 step parents and my father on the other hand have never apologized for the trauma they caused me, and yes, I respect them less for it. Both my step parents have never even acknowledged the pain they caused me ever. It’s hard to respect someone who didn’t respect you when you were at your most innocent.

    The only problem is who decides what a good parent is... You'd be getting licenses from the state or government which has also proved to be a terrible parent ... So be careful what you wish for.... They can't even take care of kids in the system, what makes you think they can determine a good parent??? Half the things the government is doing is trying to constantly push back on our God given rights.... The government will take your children already if they see you as an unfit parent.... This happens to plenty of good parents.... Then their children are put in a way worse position. The government is actually the reason the mother thinks this way..... This lifestyle is appraised... She is doing what she is programmed to do as well as many other women... The government and state systems supported fathers being out of the home.... They would create benefits for people and incentivise (props not a word) people to break up their family's. Don't get it twisted. Licenses and involving the state more than we already have would cause more problems.... Not help or keep kids safe... They are the root of this social crisis and standard of living (broken families)

    I wrote this many years ago. (Single mother of a 12yo boy, with sole custody.) My thoughts as a single mother, I see pictures on social media a lot saying, 'Proud Single Mom!' This really bothers me. I am not PROUD to be a single mother. I do not take PRIDE in the fact that my child has no relationship with his father or daily positive male role model. I am not PROUD of picking the wrong person to make a child with. Here are the things I AM proud of; I am proud that my beautiful son calls ME, mommy. I am proud that my God entrusted me with such a wonderful gift to honor, cherish, protect and above all, love. I am proud that I am able to take care of my son on my own and proud of myself for working hard and instilling good values, manners, morals and kindness into my child's every day life. I take pride in the fact that my son trusts me and my judgement. I am proud that he wants ME to kiss his boo-boo's, read him books, teach him things, etc. THOSE are some of the things I am proud of. One thing I am NOT proud of is being a single mother, because the one who hurts the most because of it is the one person I would do anything for, to avoid him feeling any pain. My son. I can teach him a lot of things but I cannot teach him how to be a man.

    I had to learn the hard way THERE'S NO VALOR IN UNNECESSARY SUFFERING... meaning being a single mom BY CHOICE, playing both mom AND dad is nothing to be proud of! Bc it's not about you and your ego, it's about what's best for the child. When u don't want to share the credit and responsibility with someone else just bc u carried majority of the load raising the child doesn't make u a hero. I was a teen mom and unfortunately I USED to think naively like this. It was a coping mechanism after I tried to get him to be in our son's life and got rejected. So I defaulted to "I don't need a man" etc. Bc I didn't have a man and I knew he wasn't interested in being involved anyway. So my ego was hurt AND I didn't want to accept the reality that I had chosen a bad man as my son's father. Thankfully I've moved on from that mindset and found a great man to raise to my son and our other children together. I got very lucky!

    Don't mix it up. There's a difference between parent alienation, separating a parent from someone who wants to be present and someone who is hurt because it's ended. These women are doing what they have to do, they've carried the burden of Parenthood, but don't mix it up with parents who only dip in when it suits their narrative.

I agree there is a difference between a man leaving on his own accord and not wanting to be in his child's life and a woman alienating the father from their children. But if you fight for full custody of your children and only reduce his visitation to weekends don't be surprised that he only has them for the weekends when you wanted them full time. Women can literally choose what kind of visitation the father gets.

She wanted a man's seed only, she claimed that she wants to be a single mother. Wanting to be a single mother and becoming one is different. • @itsyaaveragegirl

    @itsyaaveragegirl

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@lightkira4119 I watched that video too. I think sometimes as black people, well black women especially we champion struggle when there is no need. To be honest, if people stopped having children before marriage and took time to decern who is a good partner then being a single mother wouldn't be something so common. Accountability is on both sides, men should be wrapping it up, and as a woman, you should be more careful who you allow in your womb. Now women will come out of the woodwork talking about men change when you have a baby when the truth is he had red flags the whole time and they chose to ignore it. So if the father is in the child's life but not with you, you are not a single mother you are co-parenting. A single mother is literally a woman who is raising her children without the father at all, and this isn't the case for the women in white here.

    I have three adult children, 19, 22 and 28, and the one thing I am the most proudest of is that I admit to them when I'm wrong and I genuinely say I'm sorry & why I'm sorry (as do they). I receive a lot of grief from my family because I prioritise my children and am told 'they are grown, you should have your own life now' but they did not ask to be born. I had these children for my own selfish reasons so why would I want to simply give up now because they are over 18? They all have jobs and live out of home but I drop everything when they need me and in turn they never abuse that either. I had my children young (I'm now 46) so I could still remember what it was like to be a child and be able to relate to them. I've never understood hitting a child, what are you trying to prove? That violence is what you should use when someone does wrong by you? They will be fighting people for the rest of their lives based on that logic. Strict & untrusting parents create sneaky children.

    When its all about you, there is no room for anyone else. I feel sorry for the child, because she could care less.

    I disagree, I definitely think she couldn't care less.
