I take your recommendations and reviews seriously. It's one thing to see someone buy gear, wear it for a day and declare it a hit or miss, it's another thing to watch you actually really put gear through everything, basically live in it for the amount of time you do, then give an honest opinion and review. Your feedback is more important to some of us than you can imagine!!! Can't wait for the next adventure!

Love these “post-mission debriefing” videos. Right after a big ride is the perfect time do take stock of what worked and what didn’t. Some nice upgrades there for sure. Be safe ride safe. 👊

I got the whole Rev'it Sand 4 H20 gear: jacket, pants, gloves. A significant investment but it's perfect for riding in all weathers, come rain or come shine.

What I really appreciated in this video was the honesty of the shortcomings of some of your gear. All bikes, gear and whatnot have their warts. I believe that solid testimonies like yours provide an invaluable service to the moto community, let alone women riders. Outstanding work! Eric

Really appreciate your honest review of your gear after putting it all through an extended test. Too many manufacturers design for style rather than practicality: unusable pockets! A suggestion for Rev'It: on the jacket fanny pocket -- make it a top-load with a waterproof zipper and gusseted so it can expand enough to hold the jacket liner when not in use. Also, I like the idea of using a separate rain jacket/pants. Yes, it's a minor hassle to stop and put them on but even Goretex or similar fabrics will absorb some water over time, making them soggy and heavy when you stop for the day and camp. Nelson Rigg is quite affordable.

I paused this video and left a comment on one of your Instagram posts asking if you bought an ATAS! Then I finish watching it and I thought “She must be reading my mind!”

Had problems with my rain suit, the one time I had to ride for several hours in the rain I was soaked through and through. It did not repel water it attracted it. I have a new one that has worked as rain insurance as it has not rained on any of my rides since I got it. I have used the jacket as an extra layer on several chilly evenings and it is quite comfortable. All in all I like the successful insurance against rain that it has provided thus far.

Agree a 100% regarding the revit sand 4 man edition. It has been my jacket since launch about 3 years and just bought another one for my wife. It’s amazing. The revit rain suit is also amazing. I did 1000kms in the pouring rain from Lisbon to Barcelona and 0 wet clothes!

I'm going to tell my sister about that jacket! On one particularly hot riding week she was buying crushed ice from gas stations and stuffing it in her bra.

After decades of being a mid-level, or even cheapskate gear buyer, for my cross country trip last year I decided to melt the credit card: Klim Goretex jacket and pants, Forma boots, heated jacket liner, Arai helmet. (Not to mention the R1200GS covered in Touratech.) And I wish I had decided to do so a long time ago. As they say “Buy the best and cry once.” Thanks for another interesting episode.

Great video Amanda! Especially loved your info on the Sand 4 suit, I have been looking to upgrade my Firstgear stuff as it doesn't do well in hot weather (but has been great in the rain!). The usable pockets info is heartening as many suits seem to struggle with that.

My buddies genius solution to using earplugs while still being able to hear out of a Bluetooth device is to plug "plugphones" wired earphones into the audio jack that normally connects to the speakers in your helmet. So the audio will go into earplugs that have speakers, rather than trying to blast your audio over the earplugs. This can be done on the fly if you want to switch back to your in helmet speakers as well.

Hi Amanda, enjoyed your latest series, particularly the honesty when you are having a bad day….not every day can be sunshine and roses ! I’ve just got back from a 2 month tour around Europe and absolutely agree that you come back with a list of what has to change. I’ve had a Klim altitude suit for a couple of years now and it works brilliantly here in the UK for long tours, wet weather and cool weather but on the trip this summer in Europe it hit 40’c and I nearly combusted even with all vents open. However it also fits me and being 5 ft 3 that’s a big tick! My hubbie has an adventure spec system and layers up, he did much better in the heat but I refuse to buy the same… being a matching pair is very uncool! Would love to get the dirt series gear from Revit for the hot weather as we head out to South Africa in November but it’s not been in stock here most of this year….I’m patiently waiting and will have a look at the sand gear in the meantime. Happy riding!

Good info. I had the same Scorpion suit and it ventilated so well that it did get chilly very easily. Unfortunately I hit a deer in June and while I did break some bones and a bit of rash on my palm, the suit did a very very good job of protecting me. I was looking at this Rev’it for my wife, and a Rev’it Cayenne for me. Thanks

I so appreciate your down-to-brass-tacks gear reviews... I'm gonna have to see if they have a men's version of that Jacket/Pants combo, the features look amazing! The Forma Adventure Lows are my main go-to riding boot, they've been rock solid. I've been very lucky in the ride gear I've purchased so far has had very few hard 'gotchas'... Certainly areas of improvement, but nothing really detrimental to the riding experience. Stay safe out there, once again amazing content.

That little squeegie/wiper on the left index finger is a tremendous feature on motorcycle gloves. So is the drop-down sun shield in a helmet. Excellent informational video, Amanda! Thank you for sharing you knowledge and experience.

Right on, I love my Sand 4! I rode from NW Washington to Alaska in May, Temp ranged high 20s to low 70s. Stayed warm and dry! One thing I need to upgrade is gloves.

A buddy of mine just got the GT930 at the beginning of the summer, now I may have to as well. Was looking at some cheap Amazon knock-offs but I value my head a bit more than that lol. Hope you're on the mend Amanda!

Hi Amanda, I have found the same problem with my Gortex suit re the pockets. the only thing I can fit in the trouser pockets are my keys! I can't put anything in the jacket outer pockets other than my earplug box as the jacket pockets "Fold" when I sit on the bike but I dont use my suit constantly like you so it is something I can live with. The main reason I bought the Gortex trousers is I would put on my rain jacket if it started raining but was too lazy to put on the trousers so always got wet. Living in Scotland rain is a common occurance lol. After seeing how dry the trousers kept me I bought the Gortex jacket the following season and dont want to go back to carring a rain jacket and trousers to put on over my ridding gear. Looked at other waterproof suits but decided Gortex was worth the extra money. Rob

Awesome and detailed gear info! Thank you! My ‘Lady Forma’ boots are painful to walk in for any distance as my left ankle gets severely dug into. I wear the boots to ride in… only. The boots come off ASAP once I’m off my bike(s) for any length of time! I’m looking forward to your next videos!

I've yet to figure out how to stop rain from running down the back of my helmet and into my neck area. Helmet manufactures need to make the detents for visor position strong enough to just maintain position and they need to consider the initial cracking position is important to be open enough to allow venting (even when raining) but not so high that it ends up in my vison and distracting me. Other then that my gear is pretty proofed out bbbuuuuttt I know they sell most in black, which is why black will always be their most stocked color. I'm tired of only finding stock in black. My bike is black. My boots are black. My pants are black. My jacket is black. My gloves are black. My helmet is black. Uuuggghhh. Great video Amanda. Can't wait for the day you do purchase an African Twin. God, all the girl is asking for is an African Twin. Is that too much to ask in life?

Lots of great info. I wear Klim latitude jacket and pants, but have been looking at new waterproof gloves, modular helmet and boots. I’ll definitely consider some of these. I’m on a touring bike instead of an adventure bike. But long distance comfort is important on either.

Thank you for the short reviews of your gear, that was really interesting. I also found out the hard way on my tours that the Revit H2O layer cannot withstand a serious downpour or hours of constant rain and since then moved to full Gore Tex gear. The peace of mind knowing that my gloves, jacket, pants and boots will keep me dry while riding is worth the extra money in my view. Quick pro tip: If you are going through really hot, humid climates, simply use summer boots with as much ventilation as possible (so that any water will be able to come out) and wear waterproof socks. 👍

I’ve never been completely happy with a pair of gloves ever! My hands are super wide but apparently if your fingers aren’t bananas as well they don’t make gloves to fit my hand if they make them that big at all. Liners can help with the slippy feeling but the dream is to get some gloves custom made. Also nice job copping the Africa Twin! Sweet ride! 😉

Modular helmets are a must for any major touring. My next upgrade. I didn't like any of Revits goretex line. Bought 3 different jackets and returned all three. The gimmicky layers, useless pockets, the collars and less vents. Finally bought a Klim Carlsbad and didn't look back. Suspenders are a must on pants. Zipping to the jacket is just too much of a hassle.

Love the suspender option, but I also normally just zip my pants to my riding jacket, the REV'IT Sand 4 zipper comes around farther so it's way easier to zip up and I'm just in the habit of doing so so I don't have that back draft. lol Klim's Women's gear leaves a LOT to be desired.

After going through different makes and types of gear I eventually plumped for Rukka gear. Warm but well ventilated when needed, most importantly 100% waterproof in extended downpours. Saves the hassle of struggling in and out of overtrousers and jackets (which leave you feeling like you're in a sauna and wet because they don't breathe)

Great fair gear review

I have the Scorpion EXO Yosemite as well. A bit heavy and crunchy and with the waterproof liner inside I worry that if I do get caught in heavy rain the outer shell will soak up water like a sponge.

Another problem with the fanny (US fanny, not UK) pockets, like on Scorpion EXO Yosemite is when you put the insulated liner or a small down jacket in there and then sit on your bike, the bulk pushes up your back protector, assuming you use one, making it hard to rotate your head back because the lower part of the rear of your helmet gets blocked.

New wardrobe looks fantastic.

Both of my Joe Rocket jackets have the dual-zippers in front...I'm going to upgrade my pants this winter my $70.00 specials from 2016 Ebay were never great to start with but still perfect shape and water proof..hot AF in the summer (no vents)...looking forward to having a nice pair of touring pants I like the ones you're showing a lot.

Perfect timing! I'm in the market to upgrade my riding gear. I rip my pants so often just lifting my leg over my bike I need a suit that moves with me, so I'll check out what Revzilla have. I have Forma boots and love them!

Excellent presentation

Definitely have had the neck burn thing and the wet (pick an area) thing. I have gotten water in my boots from my pants not being waterproof enough. One thing I do with my visor is put a couple strips of black tape on it so when I am riding into the sun it will help block the sun. Some of the drop down visors are not as good as others because they are kinda short and the light comes up inside and creates glare on the inside of the visor. Another superb video. I may need to sell my old gear and upgrade soon :)

Thanks for the info and review. I wonder if you have looked at Aerostich Darien Jacket and Pants (or AD1 pants). They work really well across a wide temperature range when layered, have great venting options, and are made in the USA. It seems pretty perfect for your needs. Ride safe!

I have had an Aerostich suit yes. Just was not the optimal system for me personally.

Great video. I agree with your opinion on the new revit gloves. They seem harder to break-in than the old version. The pin point I have on my Olympia jackets are the collars are too tight for my short fat neck 😂

Yes, the peak of an adventure helmet can be very straining on the neck muscles when you’re riding on the highway for extended periods. On my helmet it is very easy to take the peak off and store it somewhere in your luggage. I’m using a mix of Sand 2 and Sand 3 from Revit since 2018, it has its faults but in general I like it because off its versatility. But indeed you do need a pair of waterproofs, because the suit isn’t as rainproof as advertised, and it is nice to keep the outer shell reasonably dry when your travelling.

Yes Amanda I have a 10 year old jacket from Fly that if I don't carefully close the collar just wright it chafes my neck. But it has served me well in rain and snow so I am not complaining. Very good gear review by the way Thanks. I am going to look into some better gloves.

In my last trip to Cycle Gear, they had an Icon jacket with that second zip for the extra center vent. I thought it was pretty cool

I also just bought the EXO GT930 helmet, and wore it for a 5000km/3100mi trip to Canada's east coast. I really liked the feature to take off the bottom half of the helmet and make it a 3/4, however I found I only did it twice, as storage space was in very short supply on the trip (no room to store the chin and lens) other than that it was a great helmet. I also removed the chin wind guard, i find that annoying when riding. I like the vent on your rain jacket too, my Oxford Rainseal jacket, very effective at keeping rain out, but wow no venting and just soaked with perspiration by end of the day

At first I was excited to see you finally got the Africa Twin you've wanted for so long.... and then you said that you didn't at the end. 🤔 Now I really want to know the story about that LOL. Thank you for reviewing all of the gear. Finding good women's gear is so difficult! When someone like you, who actually lives in the stuff, does a real-world review, it makes a difference. Looking forward to the next video.

I also bought the same forma boots before my last big trip, and if I could offer a word of advice, put the metal toe things on ASAP. i wear mine every day commuting to work, as well as doing a little bit of hiking in them off the bike, and the sole started to separate on me. i had to glue them back together then i installed those things that came with the boots and i've had no problems since then. it makes it a little more uncomfortable to walk around on asphalt, but when you are in the dirt it feels normal. funny enough, I bought the {mens} dirt 4 jacket 2 weeks ago and love it so far. they had an old pair of dirt 3 pants that matched though for half price so i went cheaper on that. Also, Klim finally has gloves back in stock right now and they've been sold out of everything i've wanted to order for like 6 months, so just a heads up. Replacing and upgrading gear right when you get back from a big trip is definitely something everyone should do. right when all the issues you had with it are fresh in your mind. I've got my gear ready to go, and now i'm going through my camping gear replacing stuff before i head out again in a few weeks.

I purchased a lot of motorcycle gear in past 3 years I have wear it one time then I put it away because till working on 2007 Piaggio mp3 250IE I been restored it myself because mostly I like working on my bike and making sure safe drive it! 💯🤓

Thanks for the detailed review. My only gloves, right now, are a cheap pair of Alpine Star gloves. They've done the job but some bit of leather (I guess), got wet and hardened on the pinky finger and that just wore away my skin. I will definitely be upgrading those.

Everything you say is pertinent. I have thus far stayed in the mid level gear shopping a compromise of dollars spent to features packed into the gear. The nice thing about your gear reviews is that they are current even after the gear is discontinued because you have already looked ahead and shown what the company has improved or why you chose a different pc of gear. That said, E.S.C.? There are definite pain points with my gear I like my boots but they have been slow to break in. I like my jacket but it's waterproofing falls short. For the investment all if it is acceptable for the time being. I am sure i will be upgrading as well byt the time the next season is over

Sand 4 - I have one, got rid of the internal liner and put a cyclone rain jacket over the top. Inner liners are a crap idea on a multi day trip, and having to dry out the Sand 4 whilst your camping!

Amazing how you pick up little pro/cons about gear as you use it. You just don’t know what works until you use it for extended period of time, and it almost always with buying the best you can.

A clear explanation. Love my Klim Artemis jacket a lot. Simple because it's designed for us women. Boob vented as well. I would love to change my boots, but I've tried so many brands and models that I lost hope. My calves are too big. So am thinking of switching to Hiax firemen boots. They are sturdy, durable and with goretex. For the rest I want to change my pants. Still have one of Dane, but wish to change them to Klim as well. Am really happy with my two pairs of gloves (dane goretex and Klim summer airy gloves) and I love my Shoei helmet with the self colouring screen.

Great review - my pain point gear item is finding something that is in between a full-on riding jacket and a protective jersey for 0ff-road riding. This season I have been using a Klim Tactical jersey (and a Klim utility vest) as my upper layers. Works awesome for dispersing the heat when riding off road, but is not really ATGATT. Full on CE rated jackets are just way to hot for using off-road (IMO). Would love to see some vendors make something in between a protective off road jersey and a light CE rated road jacket - it's a Unicorn.

End screen crew reporting for duty! 😊 I do wish my Scorpion EXO-AT950 helmet was a bit quieter. Sounds like you can relate to that.

all the dirt style visors have fasteners so that you can replace them ....or just take them off and put them in a closet or the garbage nice gear review thank you

Did you buy….j/k. I bought the Nelson Rigg rain set up per your recommendation a while back…of course the one time I needed it, I rolled the dice on beating a storm and lost 🤣 so it stayed nice and dry in my bag while I got drenched. My pain point was my “all weather” jacket. It was my first one and bought off of eBay. It did the job but was snug. Made a major upgrade to the klim altitude. The cost made me want to choke but I’m in love. The mens version saved my partner’s skin (literally) when he went sliding down the pavement following a deer strike last June.

My husband new Scorpion Helmet is nice, but he ended up removing the additional visor at the top, because of the wind pressure on the neck.

decent boots are my problem finding, and a cure for swamp butt, great video keep them coming

Nice review of the gear, Rev It is hard to beat, think Kilm is their biggest competitor. My least happy purchase is the Alpinestar Andes 3 pants, the jacket is fine but the pants with vents on front but no vent in back, just about cooked me on the way to Get On fest. Gotta find new pants.

I believe Klim is a competitor in their men's gear yes, but Klim is nowhere near REV'IT! When it comes to Women's Gear and fitment.

My pain point is gloves. Specifically that the original kangaroo palm Held Steve gloves with rivet palm sliders are long long gone. My pair is 15 years old and it was the last pair of gloves I’ve found that fit my size 9.5 hands perfectly.

My biggest pain point gear was my Arai helmet. It has a gnarly forehead pain point and fogged up horribly. I replaced it with the Shoei Neotec 2 for road rides and the Shoei Hornet 2 for off-road ride. The Shoei helmets fit perfect for me and take much longer to start fogging up.

The neck burn could be a reaction to the neoprene liner of the collar , the one piece of gear I can't seem to ever be satisfied with is gloves. I've tried sand 3s , m1moto adv gloves, klim induction , and currently Odin heavy hitters , even after break in I get pressure marks and ligature from pressure points
