Crime scene photos appear to show abrasions on Cooke's body. Singer Etta James, who viewed Cooke's body at his funeral, wrote in her memoir that Cooke's head was "practically disconnected from his shoulders. That's how badly he'd been beaten. His hands were broken and crushed…They tried to cover it up with makeup, but I could see massive bruises on his head. Well, if you read Peter Guralnick book Dream Boogie The Triump of Sam Cooke, you will find that the premier gospel groups of Sam's day often met on the road on the Chitlin Curtis, as they called it. They all knew each other well. For supposedly Christian folk, the engage in some behavior similar to non- religious people. The drinking, the sex, you name it. So, let's not get it twisted. Church folk can do some sinful stuff. And Sam was no stranger to this. He had his escapades with women and the law when he was a teenager. He fathered a number of children outside of his marriage as well. But that doesn't diminish his greatness.

Chitlin circuit was an area of the country, where all black r & b and gospel performers stopped to perform. This was mainly the southeastern part of the country. They would also perform at the local churches as well.

The WOMACK brothers were extremely whorish in every way imaginable😮 Cecil was married to Mary Wells back in the 70's, divorced him years later, and then began an relationship with another WOMACK brother Curtis with whom she would remain with until her death both of these relationships with two Brothers were extremely Tumultuous, Violent at times; and with Mary Wells heavy Heroin and other Drug addictions😢 one can only imagine how these people survived this type of lifestyle, sadly Mary Wells life ended July 1992 at the age of 49, such a sad loss of one of the most beautifully gifted former MOTOWN female vocalist.

What a mess from all of them. Let’s not forget where Sam was when he died. Sam was a great talent and he helped a lot of people with their careers and Bobby had no right to undermine Sam. However , it might have been different with a better example. Sam had a long list of women. He didn’t have a good example either. He stated the Soul Stirrers were all married until they went out on the road.

So basically that was the cover up and the woman who claimed she shot him went missing after that too. He was a black man who was keeping all his money instead of being used by record labels and who stood up against racism. He is the one who told MLK to boycott, he opened doors for himself and other black artist, he went back to natural hair and got others to follow, and defied what the whites told him. Anyway, so my mom loves Sam Cooke and did lots of research. Sam Cooke was beaten so badly that his neck was hanging by just a little skin. His body was obviously staged at the scene. My mom feels Bobby and his wife played a part in his death too and got married so they wouldn't testify against each other. Anyway my mother knows alot of details. She and I don't really talk anymore so sorry I don't remember all the details she told me. She believes Allen Klein was in on it too.

I cant imagine what she coulda been thinking, if at all. I hope that doesn't come off any kinda way cause im usually very fair in my assessments of human debauchery, but this was ALL THE WAY Different. I guess this was also triggering in some ways, as I was challenged with a similar (Yet different, circumstantially speaking) Reality. . but I made a WHOLE DIFFERENT SET of INTEGRAL Decisions. IMHO, that whole generation needa be burned at the stake for their evil insanity. 🤷🏾🤷🏾🤷🏾😅😅😅 Cause why are yall so Evil, Foreal Shit is NUTS. N God just be extending mercy to they decrepited asses. I woulda sent niggas to hell. Anyways LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! 😂😂😂❤❤❤🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 Please do more 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾🫂🫂🫂

I love the understated way when you said along the lines of “…a lot of work went into this”. YOU ARE DAMN RIGHT! Lots of work went into: a. Unraveling the relationship dynamics b. Diving into the emotional dynamics c. Being impartial about the consequences (to a degree) d. Making a complex tale digestible AND E. Presenting this archetypal tale in a way that appears EASY TO DO, yet it isn’t Thank you for your dedication, brain, and talent. This should be a movie…with you at the forefront of such a venture. Thanks again.

To be truthful most of our blues, R&B & Jazz Male musicians cheated like hell, from Muddy Water, Frankie Lymon, Billy Preston to JAY Z. How in the hell would Jay Z cheat when he got one of the finest & talented women ever, is it just the DOG IN US

It not the dog in us, it is the man is us. Blacks Alphas are naturally pologamious. Monogamy is not our natural culture. Trying to fit into the European Culture creates massive family traumas.

Yea Bobby and Barb did Sam dirty, but it's not like Sam didn't have other women outside of his marriage w/ Barbara. The infidelity was on both sides, and Bobby was just ridiculous. Kind of reminds me of the how one of the Jackson brothers is married to one of his siblings' ex wife. I think it was Jermaine and Randy Jackson who shared the same wife?
