I first came across this poem right before meeting someone I thought I’d marry in college… that was 11 years ago. I’m still single, no prospects, the wait is not easy but I’m trusting God. It’s midnight & I was reminded of this poem. If you’re out there waiting, keep seeking God. Trust His timing, & His choice for your kingdom spouse. Don’t try to do it on your own. Ladies I know it is hard to wait, but trust God. Gods way is the best way. When you obey His law you avoid a lot of pain, and heartache. Wait on God and know He has a person for you. He says seek first Him and his kingdom and ALL things will be added to you. And God is not slack concerning His promises. A man that honors God with his mouth and his life. A man who strengthens your faith and pulls you closer to God. A man who you can pray with, and praise with. No he won't be perfect, and there is no perfect man. But don't settle for anything less than what you know God wants for you. Many woman get impatient. But if you go outside of God to get something, you have to stay outside of Him to keep it.

I played this many years ago and one valentine's day I was single, depressed and absolutely devastated because of having my heart broken so many time's; I played this poem and cried and prayed... The next year I met my husband. It's always a good idea to wait on God.

I’ve been in three relationships since I first saw this video when I was 17 (10 years ago) and each relationship ended with me coming back to this video and crying because of the overwhelming sense of shame, embarrassment, and regret. I’m thankful that the Lord gives us more than one chance and has a beautiful plan and purpose for us that’s better than anything we could even try to “force” to work out. I pray that this will be the LAST time that any of us will have to watch this video as a reminder…in Jesus’ name! ❤️‍🔥

BEAUTIFUL CONGRATULATIONS

I remember watching this when i was 25& single and it spoke volumes to me. I’m 31 still single and happily waiting. It’s hard and heartbreaking seeing others progress and move forward when you seem stuck and the devil will have you think you are forgotten but i try not to dwell on that. Praying for my future husband, enjoying my season and cheerfully serving in the Church keeps me going. ❤️

I loved this. Glory to God!!! I decided to wait at the age of 16. I've never fell in love, and i have never had a boyfriend. I remember my words to God were " I give you my heart, take care of it. Don't let it fall in love until I see the one you chose for me" and God did so. I'm 22 right know and I can tell that God is faithful and he truly get serious every word you speak to him. I'm still single and I'm proud because God saved me from many heartaches and sadness. It is worth all the wait. God is always in time. I'll keep running to God and to his purpose for my life and I will one day eventually see a man by my side running with me. God's timimg is always perfect!! PS: sorry about my English. When I first heard this i was very young and didn't understand this poem. I just thought it was clever. Oh i get it now lol

This was beautiful! This poem reminds me of my husband and I knew he was from God when we met. He didn't show up in a grand way, he just showed up and it was love at first sight. After dating for three weeks and getting to know each other, we got married a week before Christmas. Ten years and five kids later, we're still going strong. God has blessed everyday of our life and marriage, we have survived situations that would have broken the normal marriage or relationship apart.

Wow. I was 19 years old when I first saw this lovely masterpiece! Now, rewatching/re-listening in 2024, is fostering nostalgic memories of my first time hearing it, and is encouraging new emotions and thoughts as a 30-something year old person.

This never gets old❤️❤️

Re-watching this again after watching her wedding vows. Shows that God has a plan for everyone and even though it might seem like its taking ages it is still going to happen eventually.

Her story encourages me so much because she trusted God weather single or married and now 6 years later she is married and have a daughter. Never give up and continue to trust God because you will reap a harvest if you faint not!!!!

I haven’t watched this since I was like probably like 14 years old & now I’m 26 sitting here in tears because I’m like I get it now 🥹 I can wait lord!!

I saw this many years ago but this hits deeper more than before. I’m turning 30, still not married. I recently ended a beautiful relationship with a man who I thought was my soulmate. He helped healed me. But he is a different religion and his family rejects me. So here I am alone again. I finally surrendered my whole life to God. Sometimes He has to isolate you and remove people from your life that you put first so you can make God first. I am more healed with Him in my life

I bumped into this, 3 months ago....a little later but it changed my life and I am waiting for him who will remind me of Solomons' wisdom and will go to Christ to find me. I wont settle for false companionship, deeeeeeep! Yeeh

2023 still relevant. Everytime I start to question my choices, I come back to this. And I remember exactly what I'm looking for, and I refuse to settle for less.

So, I bumped into this poem back in 2012 after watching Ready Or Not. #IWWFY was a yr or 2 old at the time. INSTANTLY I knew God had orchestrated it bcz Jeanette was all up & thru MY BIZNESS... & I didn't know how to feel abt it! Chile, I LOATHE a good think-piece & before I could tell My Daddy that Jeanette was out here in these streets gossiping abt me, I found this on repeat. All day. EVERYDAY. No lie. This WHOLE poem really became a daily prayer- recited it OUT LOUD with my WHOLE chest. Life IS IN the tongue, chile. As the years would pass, I grew more discontent with my dating PATTERNS/HABITS: I dated men who I knew I would never marry. Once I realized this, I stopped, bitterly, but I stopped. I was more upset at the fact that I was BLINDLY settling, KNOWINGLY compromising & WASTING. MY. TIME. I was so tired of ME! I ran across this poem again & instantly realized my Growth: the first portion didn't hit like it used to, but the last bit did! It was at the 6:42 mark that I realized that all I truly desired was to be at peace WITH THE GREATEST LOVE EVER KNOWN, My Father! (He never mishandled me, so why would I allow someone else to? He loves me unconditionally, so why would I accept anything less? My Father wants the best for me, So. Why. SHOULD. I. Accept. Anything. Less???!) Chile, my 💚 was on fire! 🥰 I gained a DIFFERENT kind of appreciation for God in that season of my life. It's March of 2022, & I'm a Wife now. My thought process is different now; my level of understanding is different- Hunni, MY LEVEL OF SELF WORTH IS IN A WHOLE DIFFERENT TAX BRACKET, if you will. Lol. But seriously, I could sit, be narrow-minded & complain abt why it took so long for it to happen, but I'm not, simply bcz I'm grateful that it happened at the time it did: I needed to make room for it! Any sooner & I would've squandered it from the jump. I wasn't "ready" for the responsibility. There was some healing that needed to take place. And honestly, for me, it happened RIGHT ON TIME & when I least expected it... AND when it WAS happening, I was still clueless & in disbelief. Like, God, is this really happening? Like REALLY really happening...to ME?? 🤯 Lol. & yes, some rumors are true: Marriage is challenging! It causes you to stretch & grow & change for the betterment. There's a lot of un-learning, learning, & re-learning to do... well that's been OUR Journey so far. But it's worth it! 🥰💕 I am so gracious to Abba. 🙌🏾💚

Brilliant. Wow. God rewards faithfulness and patience. This sista is truly anointed. She just don't know how much she spoke to me. I be lead a life of singleness for 20 something years. I dated a bunch sorta kindas but tired of selling myself short because my patience and faith is here. I will wait ..

On this night you have been the physical representation of what I have clearly heard God speak to me concerning my past and even my present. One of your poems you said some of us are not able to hear clearly until we come into contact with someone who has been there. Thank you for your walk with Christ.. Thank you for your voice. I used to remember that feeling of wanting something. Like, when I would see everyone around me in a relationship, and it feels like dry season. It doesn't feel right trying to get something on your own, and not being satisfied. It wasn't meant to be. I had realized in my relationship that I was myself in the whole time. I wasn't chasing anyone, though there were times when it came to that. I'm just thankful I didn't do anything stupid in hindsight.

Darn, I love being black!!! Not hating any other people, just condoning the lies told of us on screen, radio, and books in order to hear and see the true us as revealed in this young lady's talent and our God's blessings bestowed upon us which are manifested when we run, jump, sing, dance or do poetry.

2019 and I have to watch as a reminder to myself to wait for him.

I always come back to this when I need Inspiration and a blessing. I will wait for the man of God I know he has for me

This still goes so hard and I've been married almost 3 years now! Can't wait to show this to my children

9 years later i still go to this poem for inspiration

I’ve been watching this since 2011! I come back at least 1x a year to remind myself that I am waiting on God to have an intimate relationship with me more than I am waiting on a man or marriage. This poem and Janette has been life changing for me!

Thank God I waited for God and in March 2021 I married my best friend!

I promise you this woman speaks to me.. I watch this almost everyday and she gives me hope and a new mind. Love every piece so far 💛💙💜💚❤ Where have this woman been all my life🙏
