one of my favorite low rank trash talk moments i've seen in my bronze games is one dude was calling our tank bad and our tank was like "yeah man of course i'm bad i'm in bronze" like that really is just how it is

i used to be like this, sometimes in the heat of the moment ill still blame losses on others... but ive also realized sometimes they are underpreforming because something isn't clicking, one time my ana was doing HORRIBLE, her healing was literally terrible, but i was in a good mood so instead of flaming them i just went lucio and babysat them, attacking tracers, helping them reposition, and healing off poke damage, and ana ended up carrying the game with great antinades, clutch heals, and good ultimates. it was a real-life example of "i could have done better even with a bad teammate" being visibly shown, that i defended our ana, which took away the stress of fending off flankers, and let her pop off. so now instead of looking at a bad ally and seeing them suck, i instead try to think of ways to help that ally improve.

Alot of supports that flame DPS or the other support don't get that If something is causing them to not contribute much and they're not switching what can YOU do to mitigate or make up for that? If you have a selfish dps Moira for example go Kiri or bap to help the tank and take advantage of her off angles Sombra farming ur Ashe or bast all game? Go brig or Moira and go on bodyguard duty Ur tank is having trouble fighting the other tank? Go ana or Kiri for the game changing ult/CDs

Sometimes you just need to help the person who’s making the call apply pressure lol I’d rather have a low kill Widow over a Junk who is feeding them ults any day of the week haha

I dont get the point in being toxic. I mean yeah it can be frustrating if your team isn't performing, but flaming people has never helped in the history of any game in general.

Pretty much. I can get, a lot of the times unfortunately, why you want to point out how stupid everyone is playing. When people are clearly getting countered due to their picks, or because they literally have 0 awareness, it can get veryyy frustrating and disappointing. I know I am dog water at dps but sometimes... It is incredible how utterly braindead everyone acts.

This reminded me of what pisses me off in metal ranks the most. Complete lack of awareness and lack of trying. Imo, if I get picked by flanking Tracer, it's fine as long as my team reacts and * t r i e s * to save me, even if they fail. Yet more often than not, metal players don't even look at you in the vod they tunnel vision something while not being super busy making plays. It's so frustrating when they just stand there and refuse to move their camera while you can clearly hear footsteps and hero voice lines like "I've been attacked" from their position. It's like, am I the only one having decent headset, or are people that bad?

You can immediately tell when no one is on the same page. They may even be playing their "best" hero but the lack of coordination is almost always a guaranteed L unless the other team is worse or have one or two throwers.

I think everyone playing ranked should remember. If you think someone is bad, you're in the same lobby, so you are just as bad. Focus on improving yourself cause the only person you can every change is you.

I've watched so many replays where I was convinced XYZ healer was making weird choices but watching them in action actually explained a lot.

Comment is 2 months old, but it makes it more interesting to see that people are in the same rank for different reasons. EG: gigachad aimbot vs consistent positioning. This comes into play when people flame, because they might be at this rank because they can hit all their shots, and they see their teammate, who cant and has to compensate by taking safer trades. And neither can match the other's playstyle and play poorly together in a game they should otherwise win. No exuse for toxcicity, but an interesting perspective that comes from it.

@@aemortalidiot3979 Some people, especially those with ADHD can have very fluctuating skill, because attention isn't always at an appropriate level. I know this, because I'm the kind of player who sometimes has godly aim or positioning and other times I'm playing like I was brain-dead.

@@derunfassbarebielecki yep, and i think that fluctuating attention is actually a reason why I suck at taking critisism mid-match, both because of rejection sensitivity, but also because I have played better. Why am I playing worse now? Pretty eye opening stuff, ty.

Next you should try console overwatch. It’d be interesting to see how a good player preforms with an unfamiliar input method, on the more casual version of overwatch.

The flame is even worse when you are on lucio tbh. A lot of metal rank players assume you just healbot as lucio but it's the worst way to play him. I recently experienced this more and more in comp so I turned off text chat but I leave voice chat on.. I commonly get asked to heal more (I usually range in between 1/4 or 1/3 healing of the main healer and 70% speed 30% healing) and I feel like I heal enough. I even had people intentionally throw games because they me to swap to a real healer even though I onetrick lucio lol. It just shows metal rank players have such a weak mentality + they don't know what they are talking about most of the time. I want to learn how to play around the enemy backline someday so I can actually enjoy what it's like to play as the hated lucio stereotypes.

@@rudyranger249me as Lucio often out heal the potato Mercy or dps Moira, the best feeling is doing more than a competent Illari though. If the team is really good and position decently it’s a guaranteed 10k. Once I got out of bronze I noticed people generally don’t know nuance but are a lot more open minded. Some bronzes wanna stay there, it seems to be a common thing in the metal ranks

@@nailinthefashion Some bronze players do like to intentionally throw to stay at that rank because they want to have a more chill time in competitive, and then in gold/plat you usually see people who plays as terribly as everyone else but blames atleast one person with the worse stats when they most likely aren't the problem. There's a video that talks about how stats don't matter (usually). I recently played one game today where my team was comming, we didn't flame each other and we won the game. The best experience I had in comp so far.

@@nailinthefashion I advice you to learn when to speed boost your team and healing your team soon though, there's ways to use speed amp to get your team to safety if heal amp isnt going to outheal the damage the enemy puts out. It's when you start realizing that it's not very efficient to only heal the entire time.

That last game, the enemy team blamed tank most probably because it was up against eskay tank. Like the mentality was probably "my plat level tank is being diffed by the enemy plat level tank, my tank must be throwing..." Little did they know that that enemy tank is just way beyond in gamesense and mechanics, and definitely not gold.

I really appreciate your ethical concerns when during this video! A lot of people don't and they just ruin games, which has made me kind of hate the whole smurfing mindset, but seeing how you go about it in a less harmful kind of way, doesn't seem quiet as damaging to the ladder integrity!

Alternatively, you could solicit videos from your community and analyze those.

This is why I don't have text chat turned on (except vc there's useful comms sometimes) I get flamed a lot for playing lucio in these metal ranks even though I really enjoy playing him. Yesterday there was a tank who intentionally threw the game after we lost two fights in flashpoint because I wouldn't switch off lucio. I don't flame my teammates but my teammates flame me despite them playing as terribly as I do.

In conclusion, I enjoyed this video.

I wanna get better at using the primary fire and not the alt fire with genji, so I started one of those primary fire only challenge things to help improve it. Plus I wanted an account to play with some friends that are new to the game. I wanted to use an alt account, but now I’m just feeling bad playing against these players. Should I just super sweat to try to get into higher level lobbies as fast as possible? Cuz even going super casual would still be bullying these players

i mean technically u could just play on ur regular account, u can queue ranked with lower rank players now and get balanced lobbies that way if u don’t want to smurf or yk if u want the alternate account, just play normally lol you’ll rank up naturally and tbh smurfing is part of the game at this point

Tracer Torbx2 and Pharah... I disagree that the tracer was underperforming. At least considering they were on tracer which is arguably the issue. Torbs and Pharah can kill squishy Tracer easily. Tracers have lower damage because they assassinate. So the fact that they were dead four more times and got only four less kills checks out.

I can give you a dozens vods just from this week of hardcore flaming for literally all the wrong reasons. I have multiple people go afk at the beginning of the match right out of spawn or flame/blame on first fight simply for playing illari.

Genuinely how was the rein, lucio, moira , hanzo, tracer comp really bad. 2 bad things are rein is horrid rn and hanzo + rein + tracer is a little un-synergistic. Its not a great comp but imo its fine as long as everyone contributes.

Toxic players aside, the rank system is really bad. Apex, valorant and basically every other fps games have much better systems for their ranked modes.

I feel like blaming your team have made many of the metal ranks derank by default. If you encourage your team or just be positive the chances might be stacked aganst you but you dont have flamers you can actually do something with the people in your team instead of its YOUR FAULT, NO ITS YOUR. It turns out a game mid afk typing stuff and no one is using voice...
