I Went Undercover as a Fiverr Pokemon Artist
Ойындар
We've all have had a thought like this at least once - how much do Pokemon artists make, and is it worth it? Well, in today's Pokemon video, I will be going undercover as a Pokemon Artist on the freelancer service site Fiverr, on which I will be creating art and doing work to see how much pay is to be gained in such fields like this!

Granted, its kinda obvious Fiverr creators are scum they're pushing AI shit, have spesific categories for "AI Art" voice etc. that they now promote more then anything else and its CEO is promoting 2 different forced/genocidal occupations (with the service itself founded / registered under one of the 2 countries doing the occupations)
@dj_justanotheruser_yt

Nah what's crazy is that depending on the country you're from they can't legally do this and the only % that should be taken out is through taxes.

fiver takes TWENTY PERCENT of tips??? Why do people (that aren’t ai scams) even sell on there???
@awesomeististiism

@@littl3evee I assume fiverr does it to stop comissions going through the tips system, worried people would do that to take a larger cut (of which they deserve but fiverr doesnt agree) but also tips are already used as a good willed system to support a person directly and theyre taking from that? I imagine with a message letting people know of the cut but it should be called something different. I dont know if advertising other platforms is allowed on fiverr but that should probably be used to move comissions to a better cut.

@@awesomeististiism Yeah, I could see that, it'd be very easy to just say "The gig is for 1 cent, just tip $19.99 after" if there was no commission on the tips... if they don't leave the tip they agreed to, you give the buyer 1 star or something. That said, that's a pretty terrible system for preventing that. If they're genuinely worried about that specific loophole, then a better solution would be to put a high but reasonable cap on what % you can tip for and then not take a commission off of any tips. That way getting tipped is the reward it's supposed to be instead of making it feel almost like a punishment for using the site. Would you lose out on some income from tips? Yeah, but you'd attract so many more clients (and bring back old ones who left you for that _specific_ reason) that it likely more than makes up for the cost relative to the current model.

Coincidence that I commissioned a sprite for the first time on fiverr a few weeks ago too! Too bad I didn't stumble onto your account lol, it would've been fun to be in the video
I need to talk about the price being criminally low 😭
@quagswagon

People don't usually purchase expensive services if the seller is new. The way people do it is undersell at the start then increase the price once your name is out there!
@burgerkingbasketballcourt
10 күн бұрын
@@quagswagon I'll add a disclaimer by saying I haven't sold my art online before, but if whatever website you're publishing on allows you to set your own discounts, I feel like another route for artists starting out who want to fairly price their art but still need to build up a clientele would be to set it at a certain price but have it frequently (or even always be, at least up until a certain point) go on sale until you get enough buyers and ratings. That way people know what they're buying is at a reduced price, but the sale allows them to test the quality of a new seller without having to sink too much money in. I don't know if this works in practice, but it's a thought.
Thank you or showing honest experiences like this! So many accounts go 'I tried this for X time' and immediately boost themselves unsubtly with their main.

Pretty sure it's illegal for an employer to take a cut of tips from their employees in america. Don't know where fiverr lands on "employer," nor what the laws are for a website potentially not hosted in NA, nor for an employee that's not in NA, but it'd be interesting to look into.

Hey! I’ve started dabbling into Pokémon sprite art and I recently made a water starter that is a hippocampus (in this case the mythical animal not the part in the brain). @@RetroNC by rare i mean here in lithuania being a true artist is basically a curse theres basically no interest or need for artist at all in this manual labor culture part of the world like i dont think there artists here with ultra detailed drawings cause in random news artcile i just see minimal abstract art that just exist to take space on a wall even finding something like pixel art to cyberpunk 2077 level artworks almost impossible i even saw these random droodles outside schools that just put on a tree and none of them really pushed details or imagination to its absolute limit and beyond but thats probably unfair comparison since kids do stuff cause they were assigned to not cause they really dared and willingly wanted to do much more dont even know how to properly describe it but i know we probably capable much more then we do now
