I honestly wish I knew. My guess is low budget. Wasn’t in that big of a place either, mostly just a small(ish) community hocky arena

Can’t believe people are defending this by saying stuff like, it’s a small town, small venue, not enough money. That’s just stupidity. They know the draw of Miku so they could rent a bigger venue anywhere, tickets sell out immediately, it’s not like it’s just locals, people travel far and near.

They really could have. I'm hoping this shit improves the next time, if they ever do this again. Crunchyroll was the one in charge of this expo this year, so my guess is they were trying to do things as cheap as possible while upping the cost of tickets etc

From where me and my friend were sitting was pretty spaced out. But everyone on the main floor right in front of the screen were pretty packed together

I went to the Denver one, I don’t know if they just made adjustments, but the Denver one was actually a lot better, and the picture on the screen was actually really good, and tbh, I didn’t really notice the tv screen all that much, it honestly didn’t look as bad as people were saying it does, but I don’t know, maybe Denver had a different setup that the shows before it.

Damn, sad to see you’ve paid so much money so stare on a big TV screen.

There really isn't. But Crunchyroll has(I think)been known for doing things for events really cheap. Reasons why shit was so much more expensive too

Today was my first Miku Expo and I was loving it.....but it got ruined by an idiot who got drunk before the show and was.....making a mess all over themself and the area around.

They did :3 At least I think it was the iconic one. Been a while since I’ve watched a vocaloid concert. They did the thing where they also introduce the band members too, which was pretty cool

Glad work prevented me from going now. One of the big things about seeing Miku is the projection system that makes her look to be there. If you are going to do this just rent a theater.

I think my friend payed around $200 for each ticket, though neither of us knew it was a VIP ticket until we actually got in line and looked at them. Course I owe them for my ticket as I don’t have the ability to pay for things online myself atm

I mean, my friend was the one who bought the tickets, so it’s not really my fault. Doesn’t help the fact that this is the first time there was a Miku Expo here. There was suppose to be one a few years back, but covid happened and it was canceled

damn i just bought the ticket for the berlin one and im not sure if i should refund it now. im gonna see how other shows play out but if theyre gonna be like this one i think i will. its not worth for me to travel from poland to germany to look at small screen that doesnt even try to look like a hologram

It's all good, don't worry. The songs were pretty good aside from the models being thrown onto an LED screen. Kinda pulled a risky move uploading what I recorded on youtube, but CircusP aka VocaCircus is usually ok with stuff like this, just from uploading some of his songs on OSU on my main channel

It might be fine if she preformed close to where you live, but some people spend money on traveling just to see these concerts, and when they get there they realize they're not even getting the full experience with the transparent screen. Crypton and Crunchyroll could at least had told people before they released the tickets so people would know what they'd be paying for.

This right here. Despite the screen, I still enjoyed the whole thing with my friend. Sometimes people jump into these things with high expectations, but fail to realize companies have to set budgets for events like these. The one they hosted in Vancouver was done in a smaller community collage/university hockey rink, so I can understand them using the LED screen instead of the projector system they use in Japan

I just got back from my first Miku Expo in Tempe AZ, Mullet Arena, 4/14/24. No negative comments from any one there. Perfect sound in perfect smaller venue.1,000 mile round trip drive from Albuquerque, two nights in a great hotel. Cost me over $1000 for everything. It is good to have money. Hoping for VIP tickets to another show. Miku Expo awesome times ten. And I am a guy who started with the Led Zeppelin concert at the Aerodrome in Schenectady NY in 1968, at age 14. You kids these days are too sardonic. You ruin your fun for yourself with your cynicism.

Some places didnt even get the merch we were promised, so i think we have valid reasons to be upset my guy lol. if you pay money for something and then you're NOT given what you paid for, that's fucked up!! concert or not! it's not being "cynical", its calling out BS and holding people accountable for their wrong-doings. crunchyroll lied about the holograms, and didnt stock/prepare their shows properly, that is absolutely on them and people ARE allowed to be upset by it.

glad the crowd is hype at least... Im so disappointed, I'll be goinf to my FIRST miku concert, and my first concert in general...and its just a TV screen??? Paid for plane tickets and all too, I rlly hope ots just Vancouver, hope someone in Portland says there is infact a projection, I did NOT pay $400 for rhis😭😭😭
