It is really impressive. I was there, taking the train to and from the track. To get there it wasn't that bad. There was maybe 30 mins extra time added due to lines and waiting. But going back was a whole other story. We waited 3 hours after the race ended and still ended up waiting for an additional 2hrs in lines to get to the train station. So it wasn't that great for the commuters. Although massively helps with co2 emmisions I guess..

Meanwhile Singapore's GP is held in downtown as a street circuit so there're extensive road closures, with 50-80 public bus services (20-30% of the country's total) having to be diverted away from there, so nearby roads can get jammed, & diverted buses will have their next bus arrival time announcement service disabled (at least for part of their route). However a new subway line that opened in the area in 2010 did improve the area's accessibility (but 1 of its stations used to be closed during the race as it lies completely within the ticketed area). For this year's race I also saw shuttle buses being arranged to bring Paddock spectators from the National Stadium just outside downtown

Honestly your point about the weather is so true! I've done 12 F1 races now, and I can tell you that come rain or shine, it's the spirit of the fans which makes it all worth it! I've done heatwave conditions, I've done rainstorms, and weather (whilst sometimes annoying!) never has put a dampener on my experience. In fact, I clearly remember dancing along in the lashing rain at Silverstone for the last 2 years - not giving a care in the world about the fact we were getting soaked. It's not about how you f1, it's about who you f1 with!

Zandvoort was on my bucket list of F1 races I'd want to go to because it looks like such a party before, but being able to ride into a race like that from outside the city just might make it that much more fun. I probably wouldn't be able to go this route because no license, but even just a bike or a lower class of e-scooter would be amazing to ride into Zandvoort and watch F1 live.

No worries, for most of these bikes you don't need a license. The Dutch infrastructure is largely dedicated towards safety for bikers, so you won't have too many problems adapting. At most points, unless clearly signed, cars have to yield to bicycles. If you're still feeling unsafe, there's dozens of ways to use public transport into Zandvoort. You'll be just fine. 😅

Really awesome to see another F1 vlog 🙂! Keep up the good content! Like I've said in your previous vlogs; I really want to see you go to every race and vlog it, haha. I wish a team could sponsor you with travel and VIP-pass and all that for *all* races for a reason. Any team can definitely afford it and it would be good PR for them too.

I can't believe that you were there! After buying my tickets to the Dutch GP, I watched your Bahrain video because it was going to be my first GP and just like you I went alone... it's amazing wish I had bumped into you though it is impossible to find anyone in that crazy crowd 😅

Mike, where you there for the André Rieu & DJ La Fuente performance, playing the Second Waltz? That is an awesome video in it's own right.

Funny... That Saturday I travelled to Germany and back from the Netherlands by train and it was unusually slow because so many trains had been diverted to Zandvoort! I did manage to stay dry though 😅

Can you imagine? Back in the late seventies, we were on vacation in IJmuiden. And as a little boy we walked through the sanddunes to the circuit of Zandvoort. About 8 to 10 kilometers. And then we sneaked on to the circuit through the barbwire fences. And watched the races for free. That was possible back then. We always went to the camping "de Duindoorn", in IJmuiden. Maybe a good tip for the next time. You can rent a cabin there in advance, and is probably cheaper. Greetings from the Netherlands.

Just started watching your channel. Absolutely solid stuff bro! Like you, I’m also in trains, F1, and a fellow Canuck!! Loved your private jet video so much fun to watch. What I like most about your videos is that it’s not all about the destination but your focus on the journey- meeting new people, experiences. So cool to watch. Keep up the awesome work and wish you all the success 🤙🤙

It very much feels surreal to me to see footage of Mike and his friends traveling on roads that I take daily, seeing as I live, like, 3km away from the circuit, haha
