My doctor treats me like I’m a drug addict because I ‘keep asking for refills’ ? Like ? I thought that’s what we’re supposed to do when we run out ? 30 pills for 30 days, take once a day in the morning ? I’m just going to quit cold Turkey because I can’t stand being dehumanized every month when the bottle is empty.

I used pharmacy4u which lets you just click to refill and does it all online, so you don't have to directly ask for a refill each month. I hope this helps.

That’s what happens. I was taking klonopin 5+ years and had to take gabapentin. It suppressed my overactive CNS from the klonopin and eased my withdrawals. Just trading out meds. Don’t mess with depressants.

I took duloxetine for 2 years after diagnosis of fybromialgia and depression (every other desease has been cut off after many examinations). Psychiatrist made me go off 30 mg cold Turkey on December. I started to feel in a nightmare again with all the possible withdrawals, mentally and physically. Now I am starting a natural/homeopathic therapy prescribed by a valuable doctor in my city, who said that antidepressants and their being cut in a sudden put my body in a high acidosis, so I need to alcalinise it. I hope I will solve all of this.

I made the same choice last week after my current bottle of lexapro ran out. I was in a horrible mental state two years ago and honestly did need the medication then, but I've had enough developments both in my life and within my mind that I don't need them anymore. It's kind of difficult; I feel dizzy a lot. However, it's by no means horrible. I'm perfectly capable of functioning still, and no relapses of any kind right now. It feels good knowing that these feelings, weird as they may be, are my body learning once again how to be functional by itself, without needing any unnatural chemicals to keep it in line. I don't like the feelings but I'm sure they'll go away soon. And they really aren't any worse than the feelings you get for a day after you donate blood, or few the several hours after you drink a few glasses of wine. A little longer lasting sure, but nothing I can't handle.

@@justlaurenclare Yeah, my mom has destroyed my life, so has my dad. I have had so many medications cause me more depression, horrible side effects and suffering. Hospitals need to stop drugging children and these subjective ADHD tests are a trap when the "professional" asks if I should be put on medication, my mom said yes. But that idiot never adviced me or my mother a better solution and warned her of all the suffering I would go through. They just want money or unaware of the hellish nightmare. My mom said I need to go on one of the medications again after I told her many of the side effects. Could we chat 1 on 1 privately somewhere? KZread got rid of private messages a few years ago. It baffles me that KZread would get rid of it. Claiming "hardly anybody uses it" many people used it daily. Google just wants everything to be public to sell your information to their company to advertise more ads. I don't live with my mother anymore, but she still wants to control me after she got me my own apartment. Withholding my income that is coming soon from the government.

I went cold turkey almost 5 months ago off of escitilapram(lexapro). I had to go back on .5mg yes .5mg last week. the depression and suicidal thinking was just too strong it was terrifying i could not leave my room only to smoke cigarettes which i restarted after quitting 5 years ago. It has been 5 months of pure hell. I reinstated a week ago the smallest dose I could to avoid kindling. I ordered a mg scale and measured out .5mg of the active ingredient .007g or 7mg because a 10mg escitalpram pill actually weighs 136mg , 10mg is active ingredient and 126mg is filler material. All of it evenly mixed throughout the entire pill. So 7mg of 136mg is roughly 5% or .5 of 10mg start with that to avoid kindling if you have been off for a month or more. Once you go cold turkey your nervous system is scrambling to keep up with the sudden loss of external chemicals (pills) it can cause hypersensitivity to reinstatement. So go lowest dose possible first if it works you will alleviation of symptoms within 30 mins.

The long term effects of ssri’s on your internal organs are catastrophic.Everything you take into your body orally has long term consequences so look first at your diet (go keto) then alcohol that has a devastating long term effect then recreational drugs ( a no brainier) The problem you have starts with a trauma that is probably psychological then if unresolved manifests itself physically, that’s when people start to self medicate with all of the above and the problems are exacerbated. I am now fixing my self as allopathic medicine is just for profit. Use zeolite to cleanse your body of heavy metals and cbd for helping you through anxiety while you are coming off the very toxic prescribed drugs. Don’t give responsibility for your health away take back control. Good luck stay strong God bless 🙏

So I’ve been on Zoloft for about 7 years. After 4 years I lost my medical insurance and was just bumming the medicine off my mom who no longer took it and took a higher dose so I was just splitting them In half. 2 weeks ago I finally ran out and it didn’t occur to me that I would no longer be able to afford to take my medicine let alone get a new prescription. I will say that this is probably the most ill I’ve felt in many many years. I can’t get warm I cry at the slightest inconvenience every muscle in my body hurts. My temperature has been hovering at around 102 for 3 days now. Every time I take a breath I can feel it zap all the way up my body. Here’s to hoping this nightmare ends soon.

I felt the need to stop as well. However, I am checking out serotonin supplements, such as Travacor by Neuroscience (this massage is not sponsored :) ). It has 5-HTP, which is a direct precursor to serotonin, and also some GABA thing which is very important for mood. Check it out, I find it a much better stuff then antidepressants, and may help you regulate your mood. Just be careful when coming off, because in case od SSRI (such as Zoloft), you need some time to bring down the cycle of serotonin breakdown and absorption, because your cells are used to high concentration of serotonin, and are breaking it faster then usual. It take some time for then to lower the rate, in which you may experience very down mood, and some other symptoms. Just be aware of that.

I was 3 weeks on Prozac with headaches and major anxiety just thinking about small stuff like what I should get my gf for her birthday and hoping she likes it! (Never been an anxious person, actually quite the opposite) I hear it takes 1 month for it to take effect so idk if I really went cold turkey but I’m glad nothing happened. I have an appointment with my doctor in 3 days to discuss my other health issue and the progress of Prozac (which I stopped). My doctor recommended Prozac because I told him I didn’t have much energy from a chest pain I’ve been dealing with the last year. I didn’t want to be dependent on something but I gave it a shot after my doctor told me that anti-depressants have a stigma around then and it’s nothing to worry about. The above is why I regretted it. Just my experience and not advice!

I’ve been on sertraline for a year and i’m thinking about going full cold turkey because in all honesty i’ve never experienced withdrawal symptoms. Well okay, I may have, but i was never anything that i felt was disruptive. I forget to take my daily dosages frequently and sometimes i miss it 3 days in a row and then take a pill just because I fear that i’ll feel like shit if i don’t. So now i’m going to try to just stop completely because taking the pills is truly an afterthought and chore for me. And the side effects are horrible. I’d rather deal with my social anxiety than to be numb everywhere.

I was on antidepressants and also quit them cold turkey. I forget which ones they were since it was so long ago. They must have been super effective because I went from being super introverted to being extroverted. Like to an annoying level where I was loud/hyper and obnoxious, very care free but lacking self awareness. Decided to quit them because I felt unbalanced. Nothing happened afterwards for me. Luckily haven't fallen back into any deep depression, only small amounts of time of feeling down which I would get over within a couple days. Still have bouts of social anxiety but have been able to cope with it better, depending on the situation. I did have a couple of therapy sessions which were nice. Always good to talk and work out your problems with a professional, but that shit be expensive. I feel most balanced and least anxious after working out or doing physical activity. I need to do it more often but of course, I'm lazy as fuck and addicted to sitting on my ass consuming video games and the internet. Thanks for making this video. Hopefully we all can progress and learn how to cope with our issues.

Same with me in a way. I knew it would have withdrawals but I been off of it for a month and not once did I feel anything. Tbh I had a hard time feeling anything different I was on and off I'm like "does it really work? ." And till this day idk but I just had a wake up call at the end of March. I basically kicked myself in the butt into being way more productive etc. I just said to myself I ain't going nowhere if I just sulk, so I slowly began working on fixing my problems on my own. And here I am in May I feel the heaviness, self doubt, hateful thoughts towards myself etc just gone, plus I don't have self harm urges. I guess you could say I had a "Spiritual awakening" but with my mental health. Now I gotta go bk and tell my doctor and I'm a little worried. I haven't told anyone I just quit cold turkey bc I didn't want drama. But I'm planning on telling him because, what's the point in lying?

Ignoring urgent cases and having to get your parents to contact the GP is actually normal. That’s because the receptionists are trained to fob people off so that anyone who is homeless never gets treated it’s not just where you are this happens all over the country. The moment you calling in with someone else they take it seriously, because they know that there are legal consequences for them that you have a support network. if of course you’re homeless you can’t get a solicitor no one will help you and you never get any help and that’s why they’re trying to do it it’s a form of eugenics for the disposal shoot of society which is homelessness. I know that’s a controversial hot take, but I’ve seen it firsthand it’s a much bigger problem in the UK than anyone wants to acknowledge. You can’t blame the receptionist, they don’t know why they’re doing what they’re doing they’re just doing what they’re trained to do.

I stopped taking 200mg sertraline, 80 mg propranolol and 7.5mg zopiclone a day cold turkey about a week ago, the first 2-3 days i felt so much better, i was eating more after having no appetite since starting a year ago, i have severe insomnia (zopiclone was meant to help but didnt) so sleep is still non existant, i felt more up and more productive, now i feel so up and down, im getting really angry over the smallest things which i hate, my mood changes in a split second both ways, happy to sad/angry and vice versa, im feeling really sick on and off randomly but not throwing up, one minute i feel full of energy the next im exhausted but still cnt sleep, i know if youve read this far youre probably thinking you idiot taper off them slowly etc, however.. my gp is no very reliable when it comes to medication and getting proper help, i have had multiple issues that i wont go into with the gp, the reason i went cold turkey is because im a single parent of 2 young children (the oldest full custody youngest 50/50) and i honestly feel so ashamed to admit this but the medication completely shut off positive emotion and feelings.. i struggled to connect and felt very detattched from everything around me and it was beginning to ruin the relationship with my children, i love them more than the world but i felt numb and not good enough for them.. so i stopped and things were on the up and going really well, however now im angry all the time and lose my temper quick, i never smack my children but today i snapped and shouted at them and seeing their little faces broke my heart, i cuddled them and appologized so much but it was completely unfair and now i dont know what to do and if this is temporary or il continue to feel like this, i dont want to feel numb and i dont want to be a ticking timebomb, any advice from people would be greatly appreciated!! Please dont troll for my shitty behaviour, im honestly just a single dad who loves his kids trying his best but its tough out here and i dont know the best step forward, all i want is the best version of myself so i can be the best dad i can and make their lives amazing again!
