⁠@@mystickotodama1911you should definately try!!! Our food is very diverse from the North to the South. Notable mentions are bánh mì, bún riêu cua, cơm tấm, chè, phở, bún bò, bánh lọc, bánh nậm, bánh ướt, bún mắm nêm, spring rolls, mì quảng, bánh xèo. So yeah like a hundred of them.

They are also very common in my country Pakistan specifically in villages, when I went back in 2022 I was so scared of them but later got used to them lol they don’t say anything they just mind their business!

The “evil bird” is actually a tropical house gecko😂😂😂Theyre so loud and annoying, I get you- they make me go INSANE!

for a lot of viet foods like cha gio (the eggroll/spring roll) and banh xeo (the pancake thing) it's usually eaten wrapped with lettuce and a lot of mints and veggies and dipped into the sauce, haha so that's why they gave you a lot of veg. It's pretty similar to korean ssams

Aww man u should've tried chè for dessert, especially when you were in Đà Nẵng. That place so popular for good chè. Chè is like a sweet soup that has so many variations and we eat it with crushed ice, it is so refreshing those hot summer days.

The noodles that you got with thin pork slices and crunchy bits on top is called Cao lau. It’s a Hoi An specialty. So good! I didn’t get to spend time in Da Nang, there’s supposed to be the best avocado I’ve cream from a market there.

I would definitely try to go to Phu Quoc. Seriously the prettiest beaches and the food was amazing! I went to 4 different cities and that island was my favorite. You’ll have a great time anywhere though! Have fun!!!

Vietnamese salt coffee doesn't have cheese - it's coffee with salted cream (actually non-dairy creamer but nobody makes that distinction here.)

Airbnb host is so patient. Imagine you don't see geckos where you come from and is so common for them. I once asked locals taught me how to handle wild dogs, lucky you didn't face wild fierce dogs. The best we can do is not stare at them through their eyes, they can smell fear.

Vietnam weather sounds a lot like New Orleans weather. Hot and you’re always a little damp and sticky. We have a thriving Vietnamese population here and so many good places to eat. I’d love to see this country

It seems like you had great seafood. For noodles, I recommend going where the local people are. Hiring a local food person or asking for advice from your hotel front desk is best.
