I feel like the thrift stores are losing focus of why they are there, my local thrift stores old manager got fired for jacking prices and keeping items behind the counter ,they have always had a sign up that that store feeds the homeless and less fortunate families in our area but nobody can afford the prices in there so it got investigated after people stared to complain and they found out that the manager was looking up items on ebay and pricing items the same ..I'm happy to say things are back to normal since she's been gone and our families in need are getting the help they need 😊

One of our thrift stores had what they called " vintage movies" (DVDS) in the display case. $15.00 each. I called them out on it. The DVDS were clearly labeled DOLLAR TREE.

Our thrift store is doing the same thing.

GW Industries is a for profit corporation not a charity. They are going to do whatever it takes to make a buck. Time to hit small thrift stores and flea markets.

I was an employee for GW and I know for a fact that that only for their profit. All money goes in the pocket.

I'm hoping that once GW sees how much money they are losing in this new change, they will switch back to rotating bins. It really sucks going in and finding a bunch of broken garbage that should have just been tossed. 😢

That suitcase thing was for scrapbooking supplies!

My neighbor works at goodwill store and been there for 9 years She told me that they did a complete change in the way the sell items this is a pilot change to see if it will increase profits for the store and will last til june Now all donations go to the stores and anything that is not worth selling is sorted into a different bin and is sent to the bin outlets Before ....all items would be on a rotation to go to 3 stores and then sent to bins But now as it is they will be keeping items at the stores that is worth selling to bring in money to the stores and increase store inventory

I totally believe this. My GW stores are now selling items that previously would have been sent to the bins. The stores look like junk heaps.

Maybe donations are down. I am South of the Portland metro area. They treat people badly here at the donation sites. They have ripped open my plastic bags & pawed through stuff looking for “unacceptable” items. They have turned down items listed on their sign as accepted. I clean my donations, tape the lids, or put stuff in plastic bags so miscellaneous parts are not missing. There is no excuse for their rude behavior. No more donations at GW for me. Love your content. Hope you can continue posting, you are such a joy to watch.

Always a fun time with you even if you don't find much.

It always breaks my heart to see collections at the thrift bins. I collect several different items and hate the thought of all the time, care, money and years that I have spent collecting will end up broken and in the dump when I pass. Sorry I just had to get it off my chest.

When I’m at GW or other thrift stores, I find myself wondering what this person was like when I know I’m looking at a collection, and I often find myself silently thanking them for their collection that I get to enjoy looking at ( no money to buy, just admiring).

I'm pretty sure donations to Goodwill are slowing down. In my area, their thrift store prices are insane. My local store looks more like a boutique. With boutique prices and people are mad. There are plenty of other thrift stores to donate to that don't overprice. That's just my opinion on what's happening.

Maybe you could get a mystery pallet and do an unboxing video! Now that the GW bins aren’t so good

This is now looking like our bins in the Seattle area. It’s 90% clothes and shoes and they don’t rotate out the hard goods. It’s been that way the whole time I’ve been going…over a year, maybe 2

I know the bins around here get the left overs from GW. So I'm wondering if some big wig from the GW's in your area saw all that amazing vintage Halloween that went to the bins and sold for next to nothing and got po'd because if it had gone on their website or the store they would have made hundreds or thousands! It's just a coincidence that right aftet that day it seemed to change.

I do know that I have actually read a couple of articles that said they are sick of Goodwill greed and their pricing their target customers right out of the stores and that they put anything worthwhile online so we can't even buy the stuff that is donated to be sold in the stores. I am SOOOOOOO HAPPY that you had hit that jackpot! You totally deserved it 😊💕

The largest shopgoodwill in Oregon is located there. I live 2 miles from there. I won a couple of auctions but they wanted 119.00 for shipping! (They don't allow pick up). I've purchased items from the Tennessee shopgoodwill for less. Can't figure it out? Hang in there Robyn! From Kay

So sorry about the bins! I think it's really shocking that their greed is at the level of total insanity! Good Grief! But hey! the Mickey Mouse Christmas light up is adorable! I love that! Rudolph the red nosed reindeer baby little banket toy is also adorable! The vintage Movieland Wax Museum tin is really cool! The small squishmallow that transforms into another character is terrific! I know, the bins lately have become the Scary Bins of Terror, but despite that, you got a handful of goodies, which one item alone can resale for more than what you paid for everything in this tiny haul. Hey! today was Bear's turn to inspect everything, and he approves! LOL! Bear is beautiful just like Mama and the other cats! I wish you and your family the best.

Also the workers save the good stuff for themselves and their families and friends,seen them do it with my own eyes. A big bin full of target donations put in the corner no one could touch but when there relatives came they could. I was going to take a picture and report it but the manager said no. When the disabled worked in the back they could not buy anything till it was out in store for 24 hours.the foreigners that work there now do what they want.they bring it up front and put it under the counter. I live in Sac. Ca.

Sorry to say Diva, but the bins are not full and what they're full of ain't worth buying. Maybe it was a price issue, the Goodwill retailers wanted more money for their discarded merchandise.
