In the first part of our adventure, we visit a thrift store where I don't find anything for resale but I do find a couple treasures for myself. It happens to the best of us, right? Sometimes, it's all about the thrill of the hunt, and you'll get to see the highs and lows of thrifting in action!
But fear not, because our journey takes a turn for the better when we head to a smaller, locally-owned thrift store. And this is where the magic happens! 💫 I'll take you along as I browse through the racks, share some shopping tips, and give you a glimpse into my favorite finds of the day.
One of the many reasons I adore shopping at these small thrift stores, as opposed to larger chains like Goodwill, is the personal touch and the knowledge of where the money goes. These smaller stores are often run by local community members who put their heart and soul into what they do. Unlike big corporations, you can rest assured that your dollars are staying in the community, supporting local causes, and contributing to the livelihoods of people right in your neighborhood. It's a beautiful thing to be able to see the direct impact of your purchases.

I love the little thrift store, too! I find better things at better prices than Goodwill. I still pop into GW now and then……but I don’t spend as much money there anymore.

I sold most of it probably a year or more ago when I started the makeover in the living room. One of the sofas is in Mr C’s office and my Tommy Bahama China cabinet is now in the dining room. I hate not having any furniture in that room but honestly, it makes cleaning that room so much easier!!! 😂

@@SimplyThriftingWithSherri oh yes I love not filling every space of my home with just stuff. I did that too sold everything. I moved in with my man I met in 2010…. I had to finish taking care of my mom and raise my daughter. Sold everything rented out my house and moved in with Mr. H 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤗 now I’ve been making this house a home but he is an inventor and oh my god Sherri/ 32 patents so I’m trying to help him organize.
