I remember a female year 8 teacher recruiting students to be part of her sexual escapades. The director of this soft child porn was also a woman. When a cougar dates a guy younger than half her age we say you go girl. I constantly hear stories about young female teachers dating students, although usually only small age gap but still a student. We slam men for being the bad guys and sometimes you are right, but there are a lot more female perverts hiding in plain sight than society cares to admit

I don't understand the hate, given the fact that it was just a visual thing that people didn't like. If you don't like the aesthetic then just don't watch it. Especially when there are worse things going on on the world, like the movie cuties. Glad that people have moved on from hating on it for no reason, but kinda sad it had to come to this to direct their attention elsewhere. Cuties is just disgusting.

They oversexualized themselves by dancing provocative, Christina Aguileras Dirty was their Theme Song they danced too. And they were bragging about already having sex at 11!!!! It's no wonder I was bullied, I was into reading Harry Potter and watching Barbie Movies at that age.

This movie could have easily be made really well and actually achieve its intended purpose. I don't understand anyone thought this was a good idea. The plot is just lazy in itself. With proper character/plot development and without all the excessive sexual shots, could have really worked if done well. Like, we get it, the girls are being super sexualized and abused. We don't need to see it the entire movie to get the point across. I would even be fine if it was one scene. It would have done its intended job.

@@highrise This movie displays sexualized dancing acts of kids. Like any other "beauty" contest with kids. Normal people feel disgust by the reaction of the audience at the end of the film and some commentators here can't distinct between movie storytelling and reality. Like any polarizing piece of Art this should start a discussion(My intent is not to defend the movie or the way the story is transported). And by that I don't mean shouting loud "PEDO" and then move to the next video. Most likely all of you have at least one piece of clothing that is made by children or drink coffee picked by children. This kind of exploitation, no schools, no clean water, a marriage with 12, etc. is what we should do something about. We all are part of the problem and no one wants to hear that or talk about it. And yes, Nicole, I think like you, that nobody would have needed this film. However, the discussion is long overdue and: ... only morons kill the messenger.

Initially I was under the impression, based on things said by the creator, that this movie was suppose to be criticizing the sexualization of children through a coming of age story. And I was totally down for that idea. But that is not what we got. By any means. And I'm so incredibly disappointed. Like using actual kids for this movie is fucking abusive and I'm disgusted. I legit do not understand why ANYONE thought it was appropriate to use children for this. I haven't seen any footage uncensored and I feel like I belong on a watch list just for seeing the censored content. I defended this movie before we saw it because I was working on an idea and I can't even explain how disappointed I am in myself for that.

  • @jacinath

I don't think you should be disappointed in yourself for wanting to defend a movie you honestly believed would have a heavy anti-CP/child exploitation message. That's a great message for anything to have, and you didn't have the full film available to you yet. But clearly the film isn't what you and many others hoped it would be, and changing your opinion on something in light of new information is perfectly justified. What a fucking disgusting film.

Honestly, I think it's more accurate to say that children can't give _informed_ consent, especially where sexual matters are concerned, because they aren't developed or experienced enough to fully understand it. Though for all intents and purposes there's little difference when we're talking about this type of thing. I'm just cautious not to imply that children can't make any decisions about their future, because I know there are some people who believe that too and I disagree. What I want to know is what self-respecting parent could have thought this was a good idea. I can't believe they were _all_ trying to exploit their kids for fame, nor do I think they were all completely ignorant. But maybe I'm giving people too much credit.
