I'm Pete, I play guitar! Having fun with metal guitar doing everything from modern metal, extended range 7 strings and 8 strings to thrash metal on a good old 6 string. Riffs in the styles of other bands, shredding and lots of fun with metal music!

I've played a Steinberger GM4T (S-body with transposing trem system) for over 30 years so it's just another day for me. Glad you found one you liked.
Yeah, getting a Strandberg in hand changes a lot of minds about headless guitars. I've heard that same story about the neck profile so many times too. People expect to hate it, then love it lol.

Clearly designed for modern Metal! So ergonomic and Light ! The inner chamber seems to give a special resonance for Strandberg guitars. I would like to have one some day! Best Regards from Chile Pete!

I really didn't expect to like it this much, but I love it! :)
I like headless guitars. I have a Steinberger Spirit five string bass that is awesome. Changing strings is a breeze, no more cutting strings. Also the way the tuners on the bridge are designed, tuning feels more accurate. it's also much lighter than other basses I've owned.
The problem with endurneck is there is no thump support, it is hard for barre chord or some sitution
I didn't know about headless guitars until I saw them being the most commonly used kind of guitar in Cyberpunk 2077, I really love the look, and the ergonomics seems stellar, I really want one.

Last time I tried headless guitar was about 10 years ago. Loved it for the same reasons , there was one flaw I noticed though. During solos when full bending was easier to detone the string than normal guitars Sorry for my lousy English , I hope you got the meaning. Helios from Greece.

I've got a Legator Ghost 7. I use it for practicing at work. Headless guitars work great as travel guitars as they're way lighter and more compact. I wouldn't have one as my main guitar though.
@peteplaysmusic
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I’ve been travelling with this a little bit too. It’s so good because it’s so small and light, very well designed :)
most of time I forgot the guitar to pay attention at play, awesome.
Got a Boden Prog 6 NX 4 months ago and I don't want to play any of my other guitars anymore. They're considered "very old tech" by me now and I can't stand the weight and the size and not having stainless steel frets and have smaller radius fretboards... The Boden Prog NX changed the way I view guitars. It's very life-changing, not even joking.
how is the bottom end sound of a headless, does it have not as big of bottom end distortion sound compared to full sized guitar
Do they make a 8, 9, 10 > 15 string model, so when you are not jamming you can surf with it.
this sounds like a sylosis song especially the solo freaking sick
Beautiful guitar. I've never played a headless before. Looks kinda funky. I'm a bit clumsy though, and have banged a few headstocks in my years playing. This could be a good idea for me 🤣🤣

That song is sick af. Listened to it on Spotify after 🤘
I bought a headless Kiesel Zeus bass about a year and a half ago, it changed my life
I'm working on developing a body-less guitar with a HUGE headstock. So far no takers but I'm holding out hope.😉
You should consider trashing those pickups because Glenn said they are worthless.
I played a headless guitar recently. It was the most comfortable thing I've ever played.
Love my berg!
Hey duder. Get a Troy Grady Magnet and post some videos so we can see your picking. I think it would be very cool.
Great track mate but I thought you’d stick with me on the headless guitars are wrong vote haha. Maybe it’s time I tried another one!!
Guitar sounds great, looks bloody terrible. Still not a headless fan, but I respect the change in opinion.
I love free guitars too...don't we all. Would you have actually bought it? Or are you going to send payment for it since you like it so much? I doubt it...
I dumped my ESP Viper for a Strandberg Boden. It's crazy how great the Strandberg feels in comparison.

What scale gives you a twisted sound like that main riff?
@peteplaysmusic

The song is largely based in E Harmonic Minor (I think) but that riff is a nod to Chuck Schuldiner of Death who used 9th chords (basically a powerchord with another powerchord on top except it starts from the 5th, not the root) :)

Wait till you try a Mayones Hydra or an Ibanez QX527… superb guitars, especially the Ibanez for the price as not everyone has 5 grand to toss at a Hydra. I like them even better than Strandberg

Big Trivium vibes with the song
That's a sweet guitar!
Is it only me finding it as the intended pun with the song's title consisting of DEATH and Schuldiner-ish music?
Headless guitars are probably the only type of guitar that are really practical I get fretless but tbh unless you're really precise they'd suck live and I used to play in middle school orchestra and it was a bass and still was a struggle to sound in tune and of course it was middle school, but my point still stands unless youre a statue live fretless guitar for a hype guitarist wont be the best, headless though would help with the weight idk anyone that use a headless guitar but Ik Vman of slipknot uses a headless bass
Where is the reveal binding like on the website? looks like they may have switched to a maple veneer like they use on the burl tops? No effin way im paying $2400 for any guitar with a friggin veneer, no effin way lol, slap a solid coat of paint on it or something but dont insult me with veneers at that price range.

Headless guitars are either great or terrible. The make or break is the bridge hardware. Because so few companies make headless bridges, you have to go with what there is. I have 2 Ormsby Goliaths. Love the shape and design. Hate the Hipshot multiscale bridge. It's an arse to restring, doesn't feel nice to tune or to play on.
@bstnlcge2662
Жыл бұрын
I find Kiesel's Hipshot headless bridge quite comfortable, maybe it's just a different design that isn't such the pain you're describing on your Ormsby. I don't like or dislike the tuning knobs, as long as they keep my guitar in tune, I don't really mind much.
I'm big on aesthetics, so headless guitars still look weird to me. I cannot speak for the comfort or quality, as I have basically zero experience with that. So, what I'm wondering is: did this one impress you enough to consider adding it to your main lineup?
@sashabagdasarow497

I'm sure they are great in any way, BUT: I absolutely hate the look! My favourite headstock design is the Ibanez RG one (not inverted) and I want my guitars to look like that! Yes, it's only about looks, but looks are important. Only ugly people say otherwise. :D

Headless guitars are like a lambo sports car. Sure it may have some nice properties, but let's be real here. Usability is secondary, it's a fashion statement. Most think it looks horrible, but many are really into it. The overwhelming majority that needs to justify their purchasses in some way, however, will just spend their money elsewhere.
@peteplaysmusic

Honestly, the way I use mine is entirely for comfort and travelablity. It’s the perfect guitar to travel with and the case is equally well designed for this. In that sense it’s more like a compact car :)
@TheKlaun9
7 ай бұрын
@@peteplaysmusic I may be mistaken then. But I'd personally rather travel slightly less comfortable than being seen with one. In that case, maybe they're like my crocs. Convenient at times, but they disappear if people I don't know that well come over. Of course there are those that use them every day and everywhere. Luckily, I don't need to play in hotel rooms, tour busses etc and if I needed to, I'd buy an even smaller guitar like a Hoefner for super cheap or just use my Squier or smth
I do not like this thing and I was wrong.
Tbf if I got sent a brand new Boden 7 with fluence pickups for free I’d like headless guitars too. It’s about time you put down those Harley Benton dulahan things. They’re trash. Whoever designed them is out of their mind.

My first multiscale instrument was a Harley Benton. Now there are two Ibanez 7-String, one Ibanez 8-String guitars, one Ibanez 5-String bass as fanned fret instruments as well as the headless 7-String multiscale Ormsby. My collection grew from traditional to unconventional really fast. 😂

I am sure more modern guitar types will find a way in your collection. Ormsby has by far the best fan for me as the neutral is the 9th, the same is on the Ibanez SRMS 805 bass. The Ibanez guitars have the 12th as neutral fret which needs more to get used to. The Strandberg have a really light fret, which needed no adaption at all for me.
