I can walk up and down the stairs again without pain for the first time in years. I have more energy, and feel like a different person. Along with losing weight of course. My thinking is much clearer too. I use to forget EVERYTHING. Even right now, I could just cry at not having started this sooner. My typical day is real butter and olive oil mixed together in a pan with eggs and I scramble it together. So fluffy and soft. I have a sandwich at lunch with keto Lewis bread or cheese as a wrap instead of keto bread depending on my mood, and cheese chips made with real cheese in my oven. Supper I usually have a meat and green beans or broccoli. I still have desserts..I just make them all homemade with keto friendly ingredients. My local Dr has me on the keto diet and is the person who introduced it to me.

I was on the keto diet for three years, and then a year ago my doctor said he wanted me to use the S.A.D., him not believing in keto. Gained all the weight I'd lost back, plus 10 pounds. He was so disappointed when I saw him last Thursday, but he finally was totally on board with me being back on keto BECAUSE HE SAW IT WORK for those three years! Now I have to lose all that weight again, plus the extra 10 pounds, as well as the remaining 82 pounds I still had to lose when I stupidly gave in to his demands. All that said, I do know what satiety is, and on keto, I find it easy to eat exactly what I need and then I'm done, I can walk away without needing anything more. I look forward to getting back to feeling good again. I lost that during this year of idiocy, and that was the hardest loss of all. I prefer OMAD, and find that eating more than one meal just isn't possible anymore. I like that because it means I'm not constantly thinking about food. I've also just begun to eat sardines and mackerel. I can't say I find them to be as "wonderful" as so many people enthuse, but they're acceptable sources of protein, Omega-3 fatty acid, and of satiety, so I eat them...hidden very well in my big bowl of salad greens! Also, I watched that particular video where you were eating the butter and I "got it" as soon as you explained what you were doing....and I'm not the brightest bulb in a mixed package!

It's hard to change. One drawback that keto has is losing bone density, At 72 this could be a problem. Make sure you get enough calcium, vitamin D, and protein. I saw a study that 68% of children who ate keto because of epilepsy had lower bone mineral density scores. I'm not trying to scare you. Just inform. Might want to get your levels checked at your next doctor visit.

I have learned so much from your videos - answers I could find no where else. You have saved me from diabetes. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong, following all the KZread channels that tout net carbs. My carbs averaged only 30g per month, but being pre-diabetic it wasn't budging my weight, and my A1c kept climbing. You cracked the code for me. 2 1/2 months strict keto, averaging less than 10g carbs per day, and I am down 18 lbs, 1 clothing size, and, happy days, my A1c dropped from 6 to 5.3%! As for butter, I get the message about satiety. I used to eat a plateful of spaghetti with meatballs, and then be hungry for dessert. Not any more. I make sure every meal has enough fat - butter, sour cream, heavy cream, olive oil - so that I have a feeling of fullness on remarkably smaller portions than I used to eat. Keep up the good work. It is hard to overcome our beliefs in all the bad science that was thrown at us for the past 50 years. I need regular refresher courses through your videos to keep from falling off the wagon.

There is a documentary entitled: “Journey on the Wild Coast.” It is about a couple who treks from Seattle to the Aleutian Chain. My husband and I watched it over 10 years ago I’d say, because some friends of ours pointed out that they used one of our remote camps to stay in when in Alaska. Which is pretty cool and why we always leave a “bear barrel” full of food accessible in case someone needs shelter and food. The point of me sharing this is: One thing I thought was very interesting while watching the documentary, was that they ate a LOT of butter while traveling! I mentioned it to my husband, so we tried it. After that, we always packed more butter (we also take a lot of sardines) with us when we are out in our wilderness camps or in the backcountry. You are so right Dr. Boz, it is amazing how much energy and satiation one can get from it. I grew up on a small farm so we ate almost exclusively whole foods. I used to sneak eat butter plain as a child and was always thin and very in shape. When I was raising my 4 children we got goats and part of their homeschooling was milking and making butter, feta and ice cream from the goat’s milk. Not one person in our family had an issue with weight, until they moved out of the house and started eating more processed foods. It didn’t take them long to learn and go back to Whole Foods and foods that most people think are fattening. When I found your YT content about a month back, it didn’t take long to convince me that you know your stuff, and I wholeheartedly agree with what you are teaching. Anyone who hasn’t been in a ketogenic state really needs to try it. The brain and body start to work at a capacity that is hard to describe. I’m 51, and I work a very physically demanding job training horses and riders, and when I get busy or get invited to eat with someone and eat too many carbs, I can feel it in my feet the next morning when I’m walking down the stairs from my bedroom to the kitchen. My toes feel more stiff than normal and they snap and crackle when they flex, if I let my eating slack for a couple of days.

He said wow, keep going and tell every type 2 diabetic it is possible to reverse it. I also got off high blood pressure meds. My triglycerides, which is actually a much bigger predictor of heart health than cholesterol, went down into the 80s (normal is under 150 👏). Oh and I had been diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver, confirmed by high ALT and AST numbers as well as an ultrasound showing enlarged liver with fatty deposits. Specialist said you can't reverse it but can slow or even stop progression. Well... my ALT and AST numbers have dropped to the LOW END of normal! 💪

There's no reason for you to be on a statin except certain people want to make money.

He will stop eating when he feels full even if he has not finished his serving of food and will not start to ask for food if he is still not feeling his little tummy "grumbling". These feelings are the ones we have forgotten and we are trying to be sensitive to, again. When I went Keto over two years ago (February 2021,) I literally became a one day old baby since I had to erase all the nutritional/ medical knowledge accumulated up to that point for 63 years of my life (I have MS in aquatic biology/ fisheries management.) I had to forget all that my parents, schooling, medical professionals and the society at large imparted on me and had to start with a blank slate since Keto fundamentals/ principles are exactly the opposite / contrary of the current medical, ruling paradigms in the area of human physiology/ nutrition and health. The negative comments about Dr. Boz eating butter came from people who don't have an advanced knowledge of Keto and are combining the old defunct principles with a few bits and pieces from a rudimentary Keto.... which ends up being an incomprehensible nonsense. If some of the viewers of Dr.Boz didn't understand why she chose to eat a stick of butter in her clip, there is just no way of explaining this to them. By the way, many other Keto channels use the same method to illustrate/ bring some of the critical points by for example, eating a stick of butter everyday for 30 days etc. For me Dr. Boz is an exceptional, unsung hero of the fight for the truth in medical/ nutritional health for the benefit of all of us, her numerous KZread patients. Thanks a million and keep on doing your fantastic work as a true, professional MD !

My bloodwork improved significantly on keto. Dropped 50 lbs and got a healthy HbA1c. That was 2018-2019. Have never looked back. I can't eat unless I'm hungry and I achieve satiety very quickly on keto. I also do intermittent fasting and an occasional 24-hr fast. If I do feel hungry after my last meal I will make a hot chocolate using cocoa, erythitol, boiling water and 1/2 cup of butter. Works every time. A relative told me recently that the cruise he went on had food everywhere and people just grab pastries and snacks as they walk around the ship. He also said that 1/2 the people on the ship were obese. I want to go on a cruise but I don't want to put on weight. If I have to, I will eat some butter to avoid that!

Thanks to Dr Boz and other great Drs on KZread I changed my lifestyle on 1/4/23. I had been on 2 BP meds for 10 years. After switching to Keto and IF/OMAD with several 72 hour fasts mixed in my life and health changes are amazing. To date I have lost over 60 pounds and I have a healthy bmi now. I am 60 and have not had my current weight since I was 17 and I feel like and have the energy of my 20s. Memory and brain function it sharp again. All my skin issues are gone, including skin tags and chronic psoriasis! I have been of all meds for months and my BP is 110/63! I eat well and stick to only the good foods and only eat when hungry now which may be once or twice or sometimes 3 times a day or sometimes not at all. I eat steak, eggs, bacon, shell fish, sardines, salmon, garlic, olive oil and black pepper on salads and such. Avocados regularly also and real grass fed butter always. Just had my blood work drawn today and will see my cardiologist in 2 weeks and can’t wait to see his mind blown and probably fire him for not leading me down this path and having to find it on my own.

I love you for all the wonderful knowledge you provide. YOU ROCK!!! Thanks for all the wonderful medically based advise you share. I know how hard it is to get people who have been brainwashed for so long to understand what they have been taught is all wrong. It is just too hard for people to wrap their heads around these ideas. It is really scary for folks to go against what we have been told, all of our adult lives, by the food and drug companies. Keep up just exactly what you are doing. We will all catch up.😃

You can't help everyone dr boz sadly. Those folk making uneducated comments likely have a coke in one hand and a doughnut in the other while typing. The real problem is they are chained to their carb addiction. Every day you flick a switch for someone ( likley many)....and that is amazing!! We are blessed for your guidance xx

It's so frustrating that this lie told to us by Drs & "experts" back in the 60s & 70s, that fat is bad, is still believed. I've been keto/ketovore for yrs & my latest lipid panel was great.

There is actually trans fats in butter, but it's in small amount and natural enough to not be "a problem"

Dr Boz you are surely a life saver! All my pre-diabetic symptoms are gone after I've gone on keto. Nowadays I alternate low carb/keto/fasting. Wanting to improve others' health around me but unfortunately they don't understand. They still believe animal fats are bad will clog all the arteries...and they said look at such and such...he was on keto and ended up in a bypass surgery. So i stop there because i don't want to be blamed if something happens even though i know that wont.

The ONLY time I had issues with my gallbladder was when I went on EXTREME low fat/low calorie diet for 2 months when I was in my mid-20s. I lost 70 lbs...no issues with blood sugar, triglicerides or cholesterol at the time before or after BUT when I went back to "normal" eating I suddenly had gallstones that were nightmarish. Since I didn't have health insurance at the time I couldn't get my gallbladder removed which my doctor was insisting was my only option (thank god! Eventually they resolved on their own within 6 months). It was a stupid, but medically supervised diet that I wouldn't recommend to anyone...it took me a full year to have a reasonable immune system after that (I caught every cold, flu, etc. that I was exposed to for a year...and I was freezing cold all the time, even in the hot, swampy St. Louis summer). In any case, I am now 69 and have done keto on and off for about 8 yrs (sometimes my weakness for bread & fried foods gets the best of me and I go off it for awhile) and I've lost a lot of weight with little to no drama and I continue to eat plenty of high fat things like heavy cream (which I've always used because I'm lactose intolerant), bacon, eggs, butter, fatty meats, etc. My triglycerides are 90, my LDL is 59 and my HDL is also 59...total cholesterol is 138, so I'm pretty sure fats are not the killers we've been conditioned to believe they are. Even my blood pressure is great at 108/58 most of the time.
