I realize that it’s hard to understand on first viewing, but taking into account the kind of man Aizen is, Momo is a victim of severe emotional manipulation for many years. The viewers are thrown into it at the tail end of their relationship, so she just looks dumb at first.

Rukia said she's lived around 10x Ichigo when they first talked, so at most she was 150 years old. - Rukia, Renji, Momo and Izuru are all implied to be around the same age. - Even Shuhei Hisagi was shown to be a child 100 years ago during Turnback the Pendulum flashback, so he's also around the the same age as them too. - Bringing us back to Momo, the whole thing at the academy was like 50 years ago and the academy last 6 years I think they said (Ganju mentions Kaien did it faster) - So at most Momo has been under Aizen around 40 years

Aizen became a captain barely 100 hundred years ago. - And Gin was his lieutenant for around 50 years or more according to the flashback of the academy. - Even Rukia said that Gin became a captain around the same time as Byakuya. - So Momo doesn't even fit in until 40 years ago max

Aizen's heel turn was a total shock to me, but that was because (showing my age here) I saw it for the first time as a kid on toonami, and it was a different time where the internet , social media, and anime fandoms weren't really anywhere near what they are today. I honestly didn't think it was possible for an anime fan today coming into Bleach today to still be surprised by it since everywhere you go look anime-adjecent there's all the "Aizen Planned Everything" memes, so it's nice to see.

Exactly. TV tropes has even deemed it as not a spoiler to say Aizen is a villain.

"Why should I believe your word when you said he is dead?" Because she is the Captain of the healing Squad and that is a proper examination!!! And "Why doesn't she tell someone?", Because there is no proof it is just some slight suspicion and she is still under Aizen's ability influence. You can't go accuse a dead man without any certain evidence, especially when the situation is so chaotic. That is why Unohana is doing their own investigation. And do you know about Hinamori spent more than decades being Aizen's Lieutenant and all these years Aizen is purposely training her to rely on him and can't live without him, so when something happened he could use her to do whatever he wants. And Hinamori does not "Love" Aizen, it is called "Adoration", to her, Aizen is someone that is everything she looks up to and the support of her life. When suddenly lost your whole world and regain it rarely anybody could think straight. Aizen's image to everyone did not build in just one or two years, it is decades of accumulation

And you hate for Old man Yama really just based on your first impression, Yama is the leader of a military organization, and following the rule and the order issued from higher up is what a proper military group should act, why would you expect Yama knows about everything? Do you see any military questions about their order every time and still can be seen as an efficient organization? Moreover, Soul Society's rule has been run for Thousands of years which is longer than any regime in human history, and all this time it is the Soul Society working on keeping the soul balance between different worlds. Rukia even said this during the early time "Soul Society law exist to protect the souls of the human world"

So, to put this in perspective, none of the Captains we've followed were evil. The ones going forward with Rukia's execution were following orders from Central 46. And they wouldn't question those orders as doing so jeopardized their whole system. The ones against it, thought something was wrong with the ruling. That it was too harsh. Now, we know ALL of it was Aizen.

[Tidbits & Clarifications] - We learn here that Central 46 is the law-making body of the Soul Society, not old Man Yamamoto. He was reprimanding Gin for letting Ichigo and Gang escape, not because he knew who killed Central 46, Old Man Yama is the type that follows rules so he'd had no reason to go there to see, he'd just follow the orders. (Basically, he was receiving and dishing out Aizen's Orders Unknowingly) - Much like most Battle Shounen of the earlier periods, death to the main or secondary cast is rare, so I wouldn't expect it too often. A large aspect of these franchises deals in merchandise, so keeping characters was the logical route. - Aizen's hypnosis ability fills in tons of gaps of things that may not have made sense. Like Kira for example was probably being shown something different in that room full of dead bodies, or if any captain came to Central 46 it wouldn't matter because Aizen just would have made them believe they were all alive. - Aizen may come across as the pure evil type but as he said he killed Hinamori as a mercy, Aizen clearly doesn't think like an average person, he seems to think in a very pragmatic way, which may lend some understanding of how Someone like Tousen joined his side, If his plan deals in straight-up "evil" or "Chaos" Tousen would be against it. - Many fans of Bleach Dislike or Find Momo annoying by this point, but it's important to understand that she was mentally played with and manipulated by a mastermind. He quite literally made her incapable of being at ease without him, she's the worst victim of his ability and mindset.

Aizen is SUCH an entertaining villain. Seeing this again reminds me why he is one of my favourite villains of all time. Every time he speaks, i'm just glued to the screen. His condenscending attitude and his ruthlesness, gods!

Jokes aside Hinamori is the type of girl we need in our lives she is just too pure and too good, perfect wife material man 😌

A lot of interesting predictions this episode, I can't wait to see how you feel at the end of the Arrancar Saga. As for Tosen, if Aizen didn't have him in his pocket, then he would've exposed Aizen's schemes a long time ago. Tosen's motivations... well I hear you're around episodes 150-160 so you're still a ways off from getting his full perspective and how his goals and Aizen's intersect.

Gin is one of my favorite characters in Bleach. I wont confirm or deny what you said about Gin. Just wait and see.

I just hate that they cut that fight down, its obvious Rangiku served him his ass with tremendous ease as soon as Haineko one of the 2 known Zanpaktou that doesnt require a sword form to make people into ground beef released.

I recall an old review from this where someone dared say Aizen's reveal, in terms of quality, is the same level as Vader revealing himself as Luke's father.

this was a big shocker for me when I first watched it.. but Hitsugaya is so cool and handsome here, I like him more and more xD

I knew it was impossible for a singer from the human world to be a Captain in Soul Society, but I WAS WILLING TO BELIEVE.

just a quick thiing, the sokyoku is the weaponused for executions, the seiretei is the place the 13 squads are, as in the place events are taking place right now, and the seyu to kyorin is the place Aizen and company were hiding at, the supreme court place thing.

Aizen saw the whole dark side of Bleach. Yes, the world written by Taito Kubo is not such a bright place as the souls society. If it makes you feel better, the plot armor of the characters is really toned down in the final season. -------------------------------- I've always been amused by the fact that Aizen, one of the most irredeemable megalomaniacal psychopaths in all of anime, is also one of the most beloved villains in all of anime. So fun fact: this is one of the first places where Kubo Tite (the author of bleach) really got reigned in by his editors, because both hitsugaya and hinamori were supposed to be permanently dead as of this episode. However Kubo's editors prevented him from killing either character at this moment due to their popularity with certain fan demographics, namely self-identified "fujoshi", which are a female demographic. Editors actually feared backlash that could endanger Kubo's safety, because fujoshi can get real crazy especially when they also identify as "shotacons".

Spoiler: That's wierd because Kubo said that when he designed Hitsugaya he already intended for his Bankai to become mature after the petals completely vanish. So he seems to have a long term plan for him from the beginning. (Klub Outside: Q&A 162)
