One of the most surprising things about this game when I played it was the emotional punch right out the gate - the shunning, the bullying, watching the hologram of the father - just so much tragedy in the first twenty minutes.

This game is amazing and you get addicted and want to find out why things are the way they are. Some of the side quests are a bit meh, but have a bearing on things, so i won't spoil it, but this is definitely a top 5 game of all time.

Totally agree with you man.. All the games published by Sony Interactive Entertainment since the Uncharted are good, because they give equal significance to both graphics and gameplay. This game is just gorgeous because it took a decade for this game to evolve from the concept to this final form. The gameplay mechanic is so fluid that it captivates the player even when free roaming. Now that this is available on pc too, it just got a whole lot better.

Hmmm you must not have played much games to find Horizon to be the "Experience of a lifetime".

No, you could have scanned all those things that you skipped. You tried to scan the marker, but it's the object itself you have to scan. Some things are easy to miss if you don't know them, so try to explore as much as you can. Great first episode! :)

@@skebaba918 honestly though imagine how unconvenient would that irl with thousands of devices around you to just proximity stick to a close device insteaf of manually pinpointing, probs would be a user setting within the focus, which makes me think it'd be visually and immersion wise great to do UI settings within focus within the focus, although probs would have to use way more time than the traditional segment within game settings xD this is quite interesting too cause I instinctively tried to scan the devices as opposed to the icons but most people I seen tried the icons instead at first

HZD is tied with The Last of Us as my favorite game of all time (and I've been gaming since almost the beginning). Going in blind is great, discovering *why* things are the way they are was a major part of the appeal for me. Will be subbing so that I can watch someone else discover it for the first time.

Yeah it's one of the most visually stunning games I've ever played as I have it on PC Currently playing it again now as I started a new playthrough a couple of days ago. though it'll be a while before I'll be playing Forbidden Wes tgiven that's not coming to PC yet.

I loved this game to bits, my personal choice for GOTY 2017. The world is so vast and full of things to explore, and the story is masterfully presented. I'm going to go no-sleep during this weekend in order to finish the new game. Hope you enjoy the journey!

So fun watching you starting this amazing game from the beginning. It has an amazing story. Tons of gameplay. You will spend hours on this one for sure. Enjoy and take your time to “smell the roses”. This game rewards it for sure.

That’s the name of the game. The only hint I will offer you is keep an eye on you storage levels before you go into any big cauldron or mission. So you don’t have to drop anything to make room.

I recently played Zero Dawn for the first time and absolutely loved it - looking forward to watching this playthrough!

46:46 The animation is amazing. Rost doesn't smile, yet you can see how proud he is of her.

Oh this is BLIND blind lol. I can't imagine how wild it would be to start this and not even know the machines were coming! Excited for this!

As someone who also played the game 100% blind, I can attest that the machines are a WILD revelation. Spoilers ahead (for those just finding this series or whatever else similar): Let's just say that the first Sawtooth battle had me speechless for over an hour.

I love Rost, even when he finds her, he doesn't yell. He relatively gently explains his concerns. He respects her and treats her like someone with intelligence. And then he paused, de-escalates.... And basically says "If you're gonna do dumb shit, you're gonna learn to do it smart"

Geez, 6 mins in and I am already bawling. Best opening to a game or movie ever! Watching this through the eyes of someone who doesn't know anything about the game is very special. I hope noone spoils anything for you. Enjoy!

I would like to see the whole thing! It is a phenomenal game, with a surprisingly deep story.

My favorite game of last generation, and maybe my favorite of all time! I love it so much! I'll be watching this. Subscribed! Although tonight I only watched a little bit as I have to get back to HFW lol. Going to watch all of this. Edit: and I ended up drawn in and watched the whole thing lol. I love this beginning, the cave of mysteries, and Aloy's training - especially the training for the Proving and the music there. And spot on! What a transition! Beautiful game right? I've played through this game 4 times. It never gets old. Watching your reaction to the opening of the game and seeing how you emotionally connect with the main character is a treat. I love how the writers of the game built genuine circumstances and interactions to connect the player with Aloy and the other characters on an emotional level. Watching you smile and giggle reminds me of how I felt playing the game.

I finished this game a couple of months ago, but rewatching the training montage gave me goosebumps all over again

Horizon Zero Dawn is the only game I played from start to finish and platinum after The Witcher 3. Currently playing the Forbidden West which is incredible.

I love this game and still cry every time I see the beginning story. The game really pulls you into the story.

The shocks and twists in the story is amazing

I played the very first bit of this at a friends house and thought I'll but it sooner or later, well fast forward to this year, and I also played this game through for the first time and all I can say is....I AM AN IDIOT for not playing this sooner. The game was awesome and Now that I started Forbidden West, the improvements and additions seem awesome so far. This is quickly becoming my second favorite game franchise. 5:45 I've never played the first one so it's very cool to see how it all started The second game looks even better by the way. They put a lot of work into getting every last detail perfect. The creaters of these games deserve an award

Such a Great story cant wait to play HFW on friday.

This game is one of my all-time faves, hope you enjoy it. I've just started the sequel myself, but totally endorse playing through the first game first. Some people can find it slow going during the first half of the story, but the steady worldbuilding is deliberate and the game is waiting to land some huge punches with reveals later on. The deeper you let yourself fall into this game, the bigger the payback later. No spoilers, but if you're asking: What happened to these people? What's this old place I've fallen into? Why are there machine animals? These are all great signs for enjoying this game, because hoo boy, all the answers are out there and they're amazing... and heartbreaking.

I know I'm 3 months late, but I absolutely love the Horizon games. I'm played Forbidden West right now and was missing Zero Dawn.. so I figured I'd look for a playthrough and came across yours. Looking forward to seeing you play this game, and I look forward to watching you play Forbidden West when I finish watching you play this one.

Hey, just a small hint.. you have to buy packs from merchants to fast travel which gets annoying.. find a merchant that has a gold travel pouch for sale (I think that's what it's called) and buy it for unlimited fast travel.. hope you enjoy this as much as I did, I've pre downloaded forbidden West ready for Friday's release

@@TheSunQueen True, though Horizon Zero Dawn will occupy you for quite a while. It took me about 85 hours to platinum it and then another 25 to do the DLC, totaling 110 hours of playtime.

im honestly still surprised I had not heard of this game

you're in for a wild ride :) just a few tips: 1. those data points you scan (you know, those voice ones in the cave), try not to move around when you listen to them because it can be cut off sometimes. it's optional but the lore in this game is amazing. oh and read as much as you can. 2. dialogue options - I think you missed one side quest from Rost when you spoke to him. that dialogue option with square/cube looking mark is either to move forward (meaning you won't be able to ask questions) or it will give you a side quest

This game was so addicting, and after playing forbidden west I'm hooked on that one even more

I only played this game a couple of years ago, and I admit I was not nearly as taken with the story as most people will tell you. However, the combat was amazing, much better than I expected. I played the hell out of this game. I hope the version you got includes the DLC. It was a lot of fun too.

This was possibly the best game I played on PS4, and I am about 3 hours into the sequel and that looks even better.(Graphically and playability wise)

Never seen someone drop the rock. Most people knock rock from hand, the best most satisfying option. Good times establishing skills to those brats

Yes, yes, play it through, don't forget to check the audio datapoints, don't avoid side quests, then switch to the Horizon Forbidden West. (There are characters in the sequel from its side quests only.)

I will never tire of watching gamers experience this game. It is so good! It brings back those feelings when watching somebody else enjoy it for the same reasons.

Love this game so much, I'm sure you will too. Just replayed it myself too with Forbidden West coming out this week, I'm so excited for that. Enjoy the journey, it only gets better and better :)

Not sure if you have already gotten through this game or not. But to me this game is one of the best I've ever played and I've.... played many. This game is reason enough to own the PS4 at the time and is amazing in so many ways. I had similar reactions the first time I loaded this up after it was sitting on my back pile for nearly a year before I finally started it. I could NOT put it down until I had it completed. I'm doing the same with Forbidden West as well.

I hope you enjoy this game. I look forward to seeing you play more on your channel. No spoilers but if you enjoy it I definitely recommend playing the side missions as well. It helps with the wonderful world building of this fantastic game. Enjoy!

Just finished forbidden West, it was so good and the upgrades they made were fantastic, loved every second of it

Aloy is such a wonderful character, instantly becoming one of my favorites of all time. I love the story and lore of this game. I thought it was a pretty unique twist to it. One of may favorite games of the PS4 platform and ever. I can't wait to play Forbidden West but I sm going to hold off until I can snag a PS5 to get the best experience with it

@@dheu I splurged and finally got a PS5 in a bundle which are a bit more available than trying to get the base console alone. More expensive but it was a 15 year wedding anniversary present from my wife. She still came out ahead though as I bought a $1300 ring I let her pick out as she had the run of the jewelry store

Have not played the game but I like that the foster father is named Rost which in Swedish is Corrosion of a ferrous metal and the childs name is Aloy which is the combination of one or several elements to create a new metal with new properties :) I liked watching the gameplay, looks like an awesome game

One of the best you're ever going to play and the next.

The "Happy Birthday Isaac" hit me like a ton of bricks. Aloy never felt love like that and she was yearning for it.

Im so happy it came to pc aswell, so i can experience this amazing game...
