As a pool table mechanic I don’t suggest getting the combo pool table/ping pong table because it is not a good version of either. It means you get a crappy pool table because it’s not slate at least! I would suggest getting a 2 piece top that goes on top of the pool table. Not as gimmicky as the 2 in one but you definitely get a more solid and quality table with only 5 minutes of service time to switch in between the 2 with my suggestion.

Additionally, my comment wasn't in any way targeting the Russian people. The only implication you should be able get from my comment is that people were upset over something involving Russia. I gave no details, nor any indication of any personal belief on the matter, so please dont try to make me feel bad about my opinion when I never gave it.

A general PSA with regards to dead car and brakes: if your engine ever shuts off while driving, you will still have vacuum in your brake booster for power assisted braking, but since the engine is no longer running you will not have much boost accumlated so don't pump the brakes, decide where you're going to stop then step firmly and don't let go until you're stopped. If you however have never skipped leg day in your life you could still brake though it will take quite a bit of effort.

Well if your lucky you can brake 3 times before all vacuum is gone, brake hard and get only 1 full assist. Be prepared to push with both legs and pull on the steering wheel. Oh a turn, no power steering, really muscle that steering wheel with both hands. As you roll, steering the wheels will get easier but you also have to push fluid through the rack. The car shutting off mid roundabout the sudden heavy steering will get ya the most. Don't forget the turn the key and not get locked out of steering if pushing or flat towing a dead car. Parking brake you said? If you have cable to pull on yes but a button no. By the time you have a button for parking brake you also have electric power steering, great if your battery is full but it will die quicker than you think without engine running. With his skateboard position leaning on a open door with camera in one hand steering in the other he had no chance of braking or turning. I've got plenty experience with dead car pushing and flat tow more than once. If you just sit in the car normally you just have to be prepared to use brute force.

Gas flame can be invisible. So yeah, when the gas station catches fire you spray that junk on EVERYTHING.

Glass that breaks like that is tempered, meaning it has gone through a heating and cooling process to strengthen the glass. It is very strong from head on but one tiny hit in the right spot can cause the whole pane to pop. Tempered glass breaks into those little shards where as non tempered breaks into mini knives and machetes.

@@Dave-ri4oi ? No country has environmental laws limiting the use of the fire extinguishers. Even my rather environmental country of Norway has no laws against powdered extinguishers. Apart from recommending against it. 1. Because of the cost of cleaning it up, it's a hassle. Its toxic etc. So it requires quite specialized cleaners. 2. It has no performance advantage over other extinguishers that are far easier to cleanup and use. Apart from it's usually 5 year longer lifespan. And 3. It's just not worth it, and like you said not great for nature.

There are other types of fire suppressants like gas extinguishers which use Co2 to displace oxygen but suppressants are usually targeted towards specific fuels, you are almost always going to see chemical variants in use when dealing with self oxidizing substances.

And me answering that no country (that I know of) has them and that the cost wasn't from environment factors but cleanup factors. Co2 extinguishers are terrible. Especially in this use case but a soap water extinguisher does the job perfectly and without the costly cleanup.

FYI, if your Christmas lights are LED they probably won't start a fire. Over heating lights is an issue with natural Christmas trees and old school incandescent lights...you can leave them on over night without worrying about it burning down your house if they're LED 😉 Also, there's a reason they put heavy duty roll cages in super fast modified vehicles...

The Christmas tree fire is a demonstration of something called overflash i think. The fire generates smoke and also heats the room. At some point, under right conditions, the superheated air can cause the smoke and other areas of the room to combust. Only take a few minutes from the initial fire for the whole room to be an inferno. Synthetic fabrics on furniture aggravate the situation compared to natural materials.

Yeah I'd say it's actually an excellent example of well trained workers, as far as they know a shithead lit a full stream of gasoline on fire and sprayed it directly at the fuel door. That means a flame might still be in the tube that goes to a gas tank, which still puts the whole station at risk. By continuing to spray the car with extinguishers they make sure the fuel is shielded away from oxygen, and thus the fire is starved. They did their job right. Wonder if the shithead got caught tho.

Racing cars used to use a fuel that used to burn invisibly, there is actually footage of a car crashing and the driver getting out and rolling around like he’s on fire with no visible flames because he _was_ on fire.

The timer and the camera help them to identify the time it takes for the fire to reach a specific phase (like ignition to flashpoint). There are literally thousands of these kinds of videos that fire engineers use to improve building design and determine which products are better. Admittedly not the most interesting thing in the world, but you don't have to be too concerned about your Xmas tree spontaneously combusting under normal use.

I have seriously been to a Buc-ees that had almost 80 gas pumps, was the size of a decent size grocery store with probably 20 registers and it had less people working in total than were putting out that car fire next to that gas pump.

Priorities. Of course that also explains the beginning, and him thinking skateboarding holding an open car door as it coasts was in any way a good idea. All that was missing was an extra person to _"hold my beer."_

Alligator jumps in and takes a drink, ewwwooo gross water. (Which saved the person in the pool) Car has a roll cage with reinforced bars, the four belts you have on, and injuries are more than small cuts and bumps for sure. You can make any car death proof if you know how.
